The people who work here are nice, but the office is disorganized. I was called back after making my appointment and told they’d scheduled me without enough time, so I’d need to get my teeth cleaned separately… a month later. They did not pre-​check my insurance before I came. They did not give me an itemized receipt or, in fact, anything when I was there. Instead, I got a call a week and a half after the fact saying they couldn’t figure out how to bill my insurance. The office needs to adopt standard, professional practices: get insurance information in advance, check eligibility in advance, or simply tell patients *in advance* that they’ll need to bill insurance themselves.

Nice people. They make you feel welcome. Only have had one visit so far, but so far they seem a heck of a lot more thorough and personable than other dentist offices.

I have inherited my father’s bad dental history (root canals, multiple cavities/​fillings, caps, crowns — you name it!) despite brushing twice a day and flossing regularly. In a matter of days, I developed a gum abscess on my lower central right incisor, where eventually I am going to need grafting work done… geez louise! After reading the reviews about dentists recommended by my insurance provider, I decided to opt out and search for a dentist on my own. I read countless, positive reviews about Dr. Southworth’s office and now I understand why!
Thank you – Thank you — Thanks to Carolyn (very polite, caring, AND efficient), I was able to get squeezed in for a quick check-​up, which relieved my initial panic of a possible dental emergency! When it came time to schedule a cleaning appointment, they were booked three months in advance, which signaled to me===a successful dental practice to be booked so far in advance. Carolyn assured me that I could get in earlier when a cancellation called in and sure enough, she was able to reschedule an appointment for me within a week of my first visit.
Thank you — Thank you — Thanks to Dr. Southworth! He seemed to me a trustworthy veteran doc/​dentist with good intentions — which nowadays, can be very hard to find. (I have a few friends who work in the field and have told me horror stories of unethical practicing dentists, only out to make a profit and take advantage of their patients.) Dr. Southworth was gentle, communicative, knowledgeable, and efficient. I will recommend to friends and co-​workers!

I met Dr. Southworth and his staff because unfortunately, I had minor dental crisis, right before Christmas. Even though I was a new patient, they were able to work me in very quickly and moreover, were able to get me appointments with the specialists (endodontist and periodontist) I needed to see to get the work done — in the same day! Even though I ran all over town from one specialist to the next, by lunchtime we had figured everything out and I was on my way to a real solution for my problem.
I was especially impressed by the level of concern demonstrated by Carolyn.
Highly recommended!

Terrific in every sense of the word: Price, attitude, quality of service.
I highly recommend Dr. Southworth. He has a «if it aint broke, don’t fix it, just keep an eye on it» approach that I appreciate.

So I’m dickin’ around, pretending to be a Neanderthal and I attempt to use my teeth as pliers. Lo and behold, my already half-​fake tooth, from a several-​years-​ago horsing around incident, breaks. Shit! Now what?!
Cry. Cry loud. Cry ‘cuz I’m new to town, know a mere five people and have no insurance yet. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
One of my friends recommended Dr. Southworth, so I called the next morning, and was kindly greeted and accommodated (read: squeezed in because they felt my pain of having to go into the weekend with a busted grill). Dr. Southworth was great! Very nice, efficient and offered to redo the tooth if I didn’t like it. $ 230 later (X-​ray included), I’m back to being happy again. What’s a little cash for my dignity?
Even though I think I’ve learned my lesson, something tells me that some day down the road I’ll forget that my jaw is not a stainless-​steel power tool, and find myself seated in the dentist’s chair, once again having to explain why I do idiotic things. For this, I am glad to know that Dr. Southworth will be around to patch me up, and remind me to act human.
