Uppercrust Sandwich Co

Spicy Pickle on 6^th Ave is now Uppercrust Sandwiches! My favorite, the club, is always amazing — with decent price and a great location.
No sure i’d go out of my way to go here but it is good none the less.

So, we walked in and stepped up to look over the menu board. It took a few minutes to decide, and then I stepped to the counter to order. The person behind the counter was there the whole time, but didn’t acknowledge me when I stepped up, until several moments later when I said something. Then she indicated that it would be another minute, while she was fiddling with the tablet that runs the cash register.
Finally my order was taken. I ordered two paninis, one without tomato. I paid and sat down. There was another gentleman behind me, who also ordered a sandwich. After I sat down, another group of 3 came in and ordered food to go and then was standing by the counter waiting.
At least 5 – 8 minutes went by, with no sign of the food. During that time, I watched the single person that had ordered after me get his sandwich and leave, and then one of the people in the group of 3 get their food. Another 2 couples came in and ordered food as well. I finally got up and asked if there was any indication as to when my food would be ready. The person I asked was the same one that took my order, and she said that the other two people had ordered salads, and mine were hot sandwiches, which were still on the panini press. She did this with some amount of attitude, and no apology whatsoever. It was also a blatant lie, as one of those two people received a sandwich. I knew this both because he ordered immediately after me, and I watched when she handed him his food.
Then, the other two people in the party of three received their food, and I watched as it was bagged, noting that both of them ALSO received sandwiches, and at least one was a panini. Then, finally, our food arrived. Now, the first thing of note is that my sandwich had tomato on it. Not the end of the world, easily removed, but I had specifically asked for no tomato, and that request was acknowledged by the woman behind the counter. Don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious, but as we’re eating our food, I watched as the other two couples received their food, and two of them received paninis. To clarify, these were people that came in at least 5 minutes after I had ordered AND sat down already, placed their orders, and received their hot sandwiches in less than half the time that it took for mine.
Now, I don’t mind if there is a mix up, or a problem in the kitchen, that causes a delay. What I do mind is the complete lack of communication, the rudeness when I do ask, and the fact that someone lied right to my face when I was sitting, facing the counter the entire time and saw exactly what was ordered and received.
So, to make a long story short, good food, bad service, and I won’t be returning.

My favorite lunch spot for sure! I love how they include the pickle with my sandwich. The bread is amazing and always fresh. They’re super friendly and accommodating.

I fit a hot sandwich to go, it was cold & soggy! It had good flavor, but cold&soggy, probably from the pickle they wrapped up with it! And my order say there was five minutes waiting for someone to bag it up! I finally had to ask «do you have my order ready»!? Liked it so much better when it was «the Spicey Pickle».probably won’t go back!

I have been to Uppercrust 3x now. I usually get a sandwich when I stop by. The hot pressed sandwiches have been tasty, but not at all hot which you would expect. So far that’s been my only complaint with this place, otherwise it’s okay.

Spicy Pickle on 6^th Ave is now Uppercrust Sandwiches! The only difference though between the two is there are different sandwiches on the menu. I was bummed to see that my favorite, the Yard Bird, was gone, but they still have a good selection. And I like that they still do a half sandwich/​salad combo and you get a lot of food for the price. The food is still good and you still get a spicy pickle.
