The barley wine festival is the best beer festival I have ever been too. The quality of beers, people, and the hours of the the festival make it a must for any beer geek. I live in Minneapolis right now and the barley wine festival has all of our festivals beat by a long shot. Well done Rob.

Never tried anything new but bartender was really nice and recommended a couple beers they have on tap. First one was great second one not so good but she did warn me the first one was the best. Will defiantly be back when I come back to town. There are 3 bars within a block and this bar is the best and you can tell just by the crowd. Place was packed while other 2 bars almost empty.

Beer selection is great, but forget about it if you want to sample anything. When I asked to sample the mango IPA I was told«you just have to dive right in». They don’t do tasters. It’s dark and seedy. It’s a ‘bar’ setting.

This place is a great place for a drink or two… to meet up with friends or to go on a date. The place is packed this evening due the Sour and Soul event, part of Redding Beer Week.

The best place in Redding to get unique craft beer. The taps rotate and the service is on point.

After many hours of driving, it was wonderful to have a host that cared about making strangers feel welcome. After hiking many trials along Sundial Bridge, We were in need of hydration and this was the spot! Lauren, our hostess greeted us the smiles and gave the perfect recommendations after asking what I liked. No brew snobbery here just friends proud to share there suggestions! We’ll be bock! Thanks Alehouse!

Hands down, best place for beer in Redding. Great selection of craft beers. The perfect amount of hipster, always fun to play some dice at. They also have foosball and a nice patio you can take your beer out to. Can get hot in the summer though. If you get the chance try the xorchata ale or the campfire stout

Great beer selection which rotates constantly. No food or liquor but that’s on purpose so I don’t consider this a failing. This place is all about quality craft beer.

This is the happiest place on Earth… not Disneyland… Huge selection of beer on tap, new beers are added regularly, as well as two fridges full of bottles. The Alehouse has lots of tap takeovers or special events they do every month also. Cool people every time, very chill place to hang out and have a couple beers. Rob(owner) is a great guy and always smiling when anybody walks in. This place is like a second home. There may be a couple other places in Redding that may have a few craft beers on tap, but if you want the best and biggest variety, the Alehouse is where it’s at!

One of the best selection of beer on tap that is constantly rotating depending on season. So if you come in every once in a while there is always something new to try. The breweries that they have are a lot of California and regional area ones such as Drake’s, North Coast, and Speakeasy, which says a lot about the quality of beer brewed in this fine state. The atmosphere is standard bar quality dark but not seedy, more like comfortable and the service is top rate.

Best place for a beer in Redding. Incredible beer selection. No dbags. No nonsense. No one from the out to get laid crowd. Very cool and friendly bartenders. Always a seat at the bar. Just a good place to have a few great beers and a good time. Feels like home

Ok I have to admit the name is a little funny but holy cow what good beers you bring! Good vibe and friendly folks. They have great beers on tap and in a bottle. Check them out its a good spot away from down town.

Staff really knew their stuff and the place has a huge selection of beers. They don’t allow tastes before buying your beer, at least that’s what the barmaid told us. We stayed for a couple beers(the staff recommended pretty good ones based on our preferences) but the place was surprisingly empty on a Saturday night. Does it pick up after 9? My friend and I came to Redding for vacation so we found this place on Unilocal and were surprised by how vacant it was on a weekend night. It was dead town around 9 – 10.

Great beer selection! What’s up Goldeen Draak for four-dollars! Could of done with out the cigarettes, racism and talk of child-abusing.

This is probably one of the coolest hangouts in Redding. Beer only but they have a great selection. Plus their staff is super knowledgeable(if you care about that stuff). The only reason I’m giving it a four is it does get kind of loud and in the summer it stays pretty warm inside.

Like my previous review states I love the ale house. Great beers and ever changing taps. I went to ale house this Saturday and was so incredibly frustrated at the lack of cleanliness and neglect that the building is taking over time. It would make sense to add a tarp on the nice overhang they built so you wouldn’t have to sit in the rain. Little things can make a huge difference.

Alehouse Pub. The most destitive thing in ale that I have tasted in years is a sour ale. A sour is so diffrent that it will take half a glass to determine if you like the distinctive taste. Personally I liked it, but if you don’t Ale house has 20+ other beers on tap and numerous bottles. One of the better craft beer pubs in Redding. Our bar tender was great at explaining the different beers and discussed ageing of beer and other aspects of crafting a unique beer. if you have the time and want to learn more about beer plan on visiting Alehouse pub in Redding.

It has been some time since the last time I was even up in the more northern part of California. More of the state of Jefferson area, as some of the locals call it up there. Not that this is any good to the part of the story of how I found this place. Saturday, I had been driving and spending the whole day in the hot car while getting up to Redding, Got off the freeway and just was so thirsty and needing something to drink, right then and there. Driving along one of the main drags in town I found this colored building right next door to Bleachers((Which i Still call the old Chuck E. Cheese)) Upon walking up to the door, I could see from the patio they have shade and misty cold hair blowing on you.((Already for the win)) but when i opened the door it was dark, spooky and just said Welcome. Plus good cold air. However, what I found to be funny was the same song that day was on repeat a few times before the barmaid noticed. :) When I think of a pub normally I think of more than just beer, however that alone is not the case here. It’s beer and a lot of it. 20 plus taps. Which is awesome it reminds me of the Torrie in SF. They had a little bit of everything tap wise and a lot of good local brews to the CA and OR area. I was a bit sadden by the selection on the cider that they had to work with. Only a pear and raspberry but hey not everyone is me. Also didn’t catch the brand that it was. I did like that our barmaid knew her stuff about the different beers and was able to match up something tasty for my friend. Who was pleased with his beer. I love that they have all of the different size glasses outside of just a pint. I saw that samples cost 1.50 each. I guess people had been taking advantage of the system and it had to get taken away.((However I could see that in an area like this)) It would be totally cool if this place could get a few more flavors of cider and sign me up I will be back when I’m in the area again.((I hope they have some more cider to choose from too))
