Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant

Got an enchilada and tamal. Overall pretty good but definitely prefer smaller type restaurants for Mexican — didn’t seem very authentic. Would probably rate 3 stars if the service wasn’t awesome! Was seated immediately and servers are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you’re just looking for some good food and good service!

Always love this place. Consistently delicious food that arrives rather quickly. Service is always on-​par with this level of restaurant. Have eaten here for years and will continue to.

It is what should be typical for most family Mexican restaurants, but yet seems elusive! Food prices were just slightly above most Mexican places as others note, but it was worth it. A dollar or two I would guess at most, and considering what you get, don’t be put off. Plates were plentiful and it was delicious! Fajita steak and chicken were fresh tasting, perfectly spiced, and moist. Very fresh vegetables, nice chunks of peppers and onions, not too many of those overly thin and uniform (pre-​packaged?) slices that you might sometimes get at places, which tells you they just cut them up here. Refried beans were 100% authentic and surprisingly that is hard to find in many Mexican chain establishments. Lots of chips and salsa, and the chips also tasted authentic, not out of a package! Warm, not too dry, but just a tiny bit oily, like they are supposed to be! Service was prompt and friendly, and the décor reminded me of this wonderful place I used to go in downtown Tijuana, with handpainted artistic tables and chairs, and the ceiling is filled with metal star chandeliers! Every Mexican place should be decorated like this! The only thing missing for me was a mariachi trio strolling through the table area. Better than any Mexican place I have been in years, outside of Baja!

We arrived on s Fri night, about 5, seated immediately & food arrived quickly after ordering. They use super-​hot plates & as a result, the food stayed hot. Both hubs & I got whole pinto beans. I wasn’t crazy about the rice, but that’s a personal preference. My husband got mole enchiladas which he said was a nice change. I had chicken soft taco, good white meat but needed salsa, which was easily remedied. The service & presentation were exceptional. At the end of the meal, they give you a complimentary fried tortilla with cinnamon sugar & whipped cream with strawberry drizzle. A sweet ending! They didn’t have to but so glad they did.

Wish we had a place like this in our area. We stop here every time we come to Redding to visit. Very large servings, and I always leave feeling stuffed. Super good quality. Kids eat for 1.99.

This is a very consistent Mexican restaurant, very friendly service and quick too! Food is very good and prices are good for what you get. Chips are delicious and salsa pretty good! Overall I rate them excellent!

Prompt service, good bean and cheese burritos. Nice staff, fast with getting your order and food to you. Will be back :)

Great service and an outstanding meal last night. Came with friends after a day of geocaching … I’ll be bringing my wife the next time we’re in Redding … she’ll love it.

If you want huge amounts of food in Redding eat here and the good is equally good. Prices are more than most Mexican restaurants but it is because there is so much food. Good variety as my husband ordered nopales which are not often found in restaurants. Service very good too.

Visiting in area and found this place on Unilocal.Had the chicken fajita quesadilla, very good. Service was great and very friendly staff. Would do this again.

Visited this place while on a work trip from San Diego. The food was pretty good and it was really cool inside. Kind of like a Disney-​inspired Mexican restaurant. My coworkers and I were glad we chose this place.

Great time! Came here on Cinco de Mayo. (Busy busy) able to call ahead and put our name down. We got in fast. Good service, and great food! Music was nice. Only in the area once a year but now I know I’ll be back next time!

What a cute, festive place with good food AND good service. Loved the peach margarita and the quesadilla ranchera was deeelicious! I would come again while in town.

This place was awesome. We were visiting from Sacramento with 3 children under 6. The server was quick on refills as well as taking our order. The food was prepared quickly and was piping hot. I myself ordered there hard shelled tacos with ground beef and cheese and they were delicious. The wife enjoyed her chimichanga plate. Can’t wait to go back!

Had a veggie burrito. It was average. The veggies and rice were overcooked and the sauce on top was not very flavorful. The chips and salsa were on the house and were good. They even got a complimentary dessert at the end of our meal– which was fun (it was like a crisp waffle with cream) .

They food was pretty good and the service was outstanding. Esteban took excellent care of us. He was serving multiple tables at a time and was still very attentive. Drinks were always full, very friendly, got our order correct and took customer requests without a flinch.
The chips and salsa came out first, on the house. chips were light and crisp and tasted homemade. Salsa was fresh and homemade as well. Nice tomato flavor but not really spicy at all.
I ordered the chili verde and it was excellent flavor but the meat was in slightly chewy chunks. I prefer the slow cooked pull apart texture. I would have preferred it cooked longer to make it more tender. Portion was huge and I didn’t come close to finishing it. Price to portion ratio was definitely in the customers favor.

Went here with some friends for dinner. I ordered the enchiladas and my wife ordered the fish tacos. It’s probably one of the best enchiladas that I’ve tasted. The mole was on the sweet side, but that’s the way I like it. The fish was soft and tender and was seasoned very well!
The service was also great! Luis was friendly and funny which made our stay even better.
I recommend this place to anyone craving Mexican food!

Excellent service, average. food at best.
I think they got a higher rating because of the atmosphere and the tequila list. The food is salty and just slightly better than Taco Bell

4.5 stars. Came here for dinner based on Unilocal reviews and because to was conveniently located to our hotel and we were not disappointed!
What we ordered:
–2 cheese enchiladas and rice: the enchiladas were nice and flavorful and CHEESEY! mmmmmm!
–two item combo (chicken/​taco): now I like some white meat in my Mexican food and that is exactly what you get. Even though the taco broke since it got soggy from the chicken juices, it was really good. Very flavorful. The enchilada was good too.
–chips/​salsa: a little on the salty side but still ate it! :)
