I went here today for smog check and service was excellent. They got me in quickly, were polite and professional, done in no time.

Excellent service. Great experience with the garage on some repairs. Highly recommend.

I’m always happy with these guys. They are fast, professional, and give me options with associated prices. I always feel like I’m heard and respected. A great place with a down to earth crew.

Really nice people to do business with, very informative and helpful. I even forgot my smog appointment and they still got me taken care of. Refreshing to see customer service is still alive and well!

Went there yet again, this time for breaks and some minor work. They were busy that day, and I could tell they were hustling. BUT!
They still did an excellent job, for an excellent price, and were extremely polite and professional in the process. I tell ya, if I could do commercials for these guys I totally would!
As usual, the price was right, and they gave me different options so I could choose the best solution without paying an arm and a leg.

Rick and his crew do a great job at diagnosing and repairing problems. The are very good at explaining my automotive needs in terms that are easy for anyone to understand.

Quality car repairs from people who care about their work. Never had a bad experience here and the staff always finish their work when they say they will. They’ve done minor tune ups on my car and some major work on my father’s truck (replacing AC units and swapping out se other parts I don’t know how to explain). Family owned by locals.

I just finished a smog inspection at Jindras service station. I was thoroughly impressed. I called to schedule the appointment with Rick and was given an immediate appointment. They smogged my truck immediately and explained everything to me in a very kind and professional way. Rick was like your favorite uncle giving you a helping hand.
I paid my very reasonable bill and walked out to find my windshield being very meticulously cleaned by the station attendant.
I was super impressed by the little things that made this visit a big deal. Way to go Jindras! I’ll be back.

Very good customer service! Went there for the first time to get my F250 smogged, will definitely recommend to all my family and friends! I called in the early morning for an appointment and was able to get one for 3 hours later, I was in and out within 30 minutes and the gentlemen who did the smog was very kind. They deserve a 5 out of 5!

I was passing through Redding while driving along the I-​5 and spent the night up the road from Jindras 76 at the Motel6. The following morning my trucks electronics died in the Starbucks drive-​thru — slightly embarrassing as there was a long line behind me but a couple drivers jumped out to help with a push. Having just replaced the batteries (1998 dodge diesel 2500) and the starter motor (200+k miles… The dodge «timer» is going off!) I knew it was either the alternator or PCM. A half hour after sitting in the parking lot the Deka batteries (strongly recommend them!) fired the truck up. I hit the 5 for a short ride hoping I’d see the voltometer rise back to its usual 13.5V from the 11V it was reading. It didn’t — in fact, it dropped lower (nice thing about Diesels compression ignition… no spark needed to keep the engine rolling!)
Long story short, it was Sunday, I parked back at the Motel6 and with an extension cord through the rooms window, set the truck batteries on a battery tender. The following morning I brought the truck to Jindras when they opened and before noon I was back on the road with a warrantied new alternator and a tested ignition-​charging system. I was expecting at least another days delay when the owner told me they were shorthanded that day. Fast and friendly service, very professional & even gave my dog a treat when I picked up my truck. Thank you Jindras!!!

Been getting my smog inspections done here for a few years and the are always polite and on time with smog appointments.

I had my brakes done in August at Jindra’s and was extremely impressed with their customer service. I was so impressed that when my boyfriend and my roommate needed their brakes done, I convinced them to go here. Boy, that sure was a mistake. Now it is the end of May and my brakes started squeaking. I called them yesterday to find out if this was normal and was told that it could be my fault because I may be riding them too hard. (Not in those exact words but that is the message he gave.) I have only put 9000 miles on my van since August and it has not even been a year. I was so upset about the attitude I was receiving when I called that I chose to get my brakes looked at and then fixed elsewhere today. I was told that my brake pads were not only gone but that they also had put the lug nuts on backwards! I had this other company give me the pads and rotors that were required in order for me to continue to safely drive my van. This means that I have paid for brakes and rotors twice within one year!
I was really upset and I will admit that I had a bit of an attitude when I called Jindra’s to explain what I had just experienced. I was told that the manager had left so I asked to speak with whoever was in charge. They referred me to Jeff who was not empathetic or sympathetic to my situation at all. He said that there was nothing that could be done since I took the van somewhere else. This experience has been terrible. My boyfriend’s truck has brake pads that are now speaking after only 2 months. I am seriously questioning the products that they use on the vehicles they «repair.» We will be taking his truck in to see if they will do anything but I am not happy or excited about dealing with Jeff or his attitude. Since they are refusing to accept any responsibility on regard to my van’s lack of repairs and messed up lug nuts, we will see what happens when we take in his truck. I will update this review after we take the truck in.

I was told the repair was done twice. It wasn’t. However, I didn’t discover that until I showed up to pick it up. When it was done, I noticed a forgotten tool and grainy bits of some kind of foam on my passenger seat. I let the mechanic know and gave him the tool. The next day I noticed that my dashboard no longer lit up, though it had BEFORE the other repair. It was so rough interacting with Jindra’s, I opted not to to call them to remedy the issue immediately. Unfortunately, that led to a later $ 115 to check it out elsewhere, while having other repairs done. This was my second unpleasant experience with Jindra’s. I will now make a point to recommend that people NOT go to Jindra’s. I don’t want others to experience what I did, both in poor workmanship AND poor customer service.

I am very happy to tell everyone I meet that I have found the nicest mechanic in Redding. I brought my car in after reading the nice reviews on here, and I was not disappointed. Jeff (I think that was his name) spoke with my husband on the phone, and then, nearly a week later, remembered all the details about our car when we brought it in (without looking at any notes).
My first impression of Jindra’s was very positive as I stood in the lobby and looked around at the numerous thank you notes all over the walls – people thanking them for helping them after breaking down in Oregon, helping with community events, etc. It just gave me a really good vibe before I left my car there.
The work was done quickly and for much cheaper than anywhere else I had called. When the problem with my car was first diagnosed in Chico, I was quoted over $ 800 to fix it. Jindra’s happily fixed my car for under $ 400 and recommended me to a transmission specialist to help fix a problem that they openly admitted was not their specialty. I love that they were honest about that.
I’ll be going to Jindra’s exclusively from now on.
Oh, and who doesn’t love their cute sign out front announcing people’s newborn babies and congratulating people in the community? So nice.

I decided to try these guys for my biannual smog inspection, because they are the only shop I found in the area that has a website and good customer reviews. I called ahead to see if I needed to make an appointment and the person who answered set me up for a smog check the next day.
There was a 10-​minute delay in that the smog tech was out to lunch (literally) when I arrived for the appointment. The actual inspection took 40 minutes on my pre-​1995 vehicle, which is too long for a smog check, because apparently the tech was confused about the location of my vehicle’s fuel-​vapor charcoal canister. I pointed out to him where it was on my vehicle and that was that. I’ll subtract one star for those things.
The price for the smog check and DMV e-​certificate was fair and Jindra’s accepted the $ 5-​off coupon from their website without question. Overall, I’ll most likely be back here for my future smog-​check needs.

Really as good as it gets! I’ve been going to Jindra’s for around a year now, and not only do they pump my gas, but they make sure my car is running in tip-​top shape. I’ve had my car smogged and brake pads replaced there with no problem. They were more than able to service my foreign car (Jaguar) and Jeff even had previous experience working on them. He even replaced a blinker light for free one day while I refueled!

Quality place. They are friendly and provide great service! I had my truck smog checked there today. He was honest, straight-​forward, and they even cleaned my windshield and put air in my tires. They earned my repeat business.

Speedy, efficient service. Reasonable price and polite staff. Recommended.

Jindra’s Auto Service 76 is AWESOME! I went in for a smog check after reading the rave reviews and am so happy I tried their location out! A completely organized, well run service department with obvious care for all of their clients. (WOW) They were above average professional, kind, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. You are in excellent hands at Jindra’s. I will definitely go back there for auto service. THANK YOU JINDRA’S. I had a fantastic experience with you!!! :)

«As good as it gets» really is a correct rating. I called all around town to grumpy sounding mechanics to compare prices on Smog Tests, when I called Jindra’s the man who picked up the phone was incredibly friendly and high spirited, he gave me their prices, but then suggested that if I go to their website I could print off a $ 5 off coupon (which then made them the best price it town).
When I got there they fit me in and took my car right away (they even answered some questions I had about my maintenance light that had come on recently… Checked it out and relieved all my fears) they CALLED me when it was done, and let me pick it up later in the evening.
It’s nice when you walk into a shop and while talking to the employee you see tons of letters pinned to the wall that are thank-​you notes from past patrons thanking them for going out of their way to help the customers.
I’m suggesting my girlfriend go to Jindra’s for her smog test, and I’m planning to get all of my oil changes done there from now on. I was very pleasantly surprised at how efficient, kind, professional and price competitive these folks were.
UPDATE: I went back and got my oil changed there and fell in love with Jindra’s even more. I’ve already referred three other people. From everything I’ve seen, I trust these guys that they’ll be honest with me and do a great job.
