Description

Specialties

Redding City Musical Theatre Company (RCMTC) is a 501 © (3) federal non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality entertainment to the Redding area, as well as educational opportunities in the performing arts.

History

Established in 2005.

RCMTC was founded by it’s current Artistic Director, Diana Christensen. Diana had a dream of starting a community-based musical theatre company in Redding to bring high-quality family entertainment to the area.

The premier production, «Seven Brides for Seven Brothers», was performed in 2005 in conjunction with the Redding City Ballet. After that first successful show RCMTC was officially formed.

In 2007, RCMTC launched RCMTC Jr. — a separate performing company dedicated to educating and giving experience to Redding’s youth. The first Jr. Company production, «High School Musical,» was met with great success.

RCMTC depends on the volunteers that help in all aspects of the company — backstage hands, costumes, marketing, poster distribution, fundraising coordinators, and more.

To become a member of the RCMTC family by volunteering or becoming a sponsor call Karen Twight — Fundraising Chairperson at 917‑0341 or email us at info@rcmtc.org
