Urbane Redmond

We have rented a wonderful townhouse with Urbane which is managed by Kauri and with the new management they have in place our experience with Tammy has been wonderful, professional and we are excited to have a place in downtown Redmond that meets out work/​live lifestyle. The homes are beautiful with high end appliances like Wolf and Bosch. It is also nice they have garages too.

My husband and I just relocated from a small coastal town and were looking for the «downtown» experience. We had a larger home at the coast and we needed a place with a garage and with more square footage than your average town home, condo or apartment. We also needed to the new place to be pet friendly for our yellow lab and cat. Urbane Redmond has it all! We are able to live downtown Redmond and be walking distance to so many things! The popular Cleveland Street is only a few blocks away and there are more restaurants around us to even count. There are at least three grocery stores within a few blocks (2-​QFCs and a Trader Joes!). Marymoor Park is also only a little more than a mile away– where there are outdoor concerts, off-​lease dog park, etc…
Enough about the perfect location… now about Urbane Redmond. This place is super unique and we feel extremely lucky to find such a place! The lower level has a garage entrance as well as an entry from the good sized office. When you go up the stairs to the second floor, you will find a breath-​taking kitchen (so gorgeous!), dining space and living room space. The floor plan is open and it feels even more spacious with the high ceilings. There are two decks on this floor– one on each side of the building. The kitchen is supplied with stainless steel commercial grade appliances, including a beautiful Viking range. You will not find this in any other apartment downtown! On top of that, the floors on this level are bamboo wood. As you go upstairs to the third floor (carpeted), there are two over-​sized bedrooms each with a private bathroom. The «guest room» bathroom has a shower/​tub combo whereas the «master bathroom» has a black stone shower, a soaking tub, two sinks and the laundry room attached. It is so convenient to have the laundry off the master bedroom/​bath (doors from each side so it remains very quiet). Again, lots of huge windows and lots of light. The overall shape of the Urbane complex creates a «courtyard» in the middle. Great people live here and we enjoy all of our neighbors. This place was a great transition from owning a home at the beach to living downtown Redmond.
The management has also been absolutely incredible. I have read some other negative reviews that mention the previous management people but don’t let that stop you from seeing these places! Tammy is our new contact and she is extremely helpful and you can get in touch with her very easily. She is quick to respond to any question that you may have plus she even emails you with event info going on around Redmond! There is no office here on location but honestly, there doesn’t need to be. Francisco is our maintenance guy and he is great! He is here throughout the week and is very friendly. Due to the extremely high ceilings, they take care of all the light bulbs! All you have to do is let them know and they replace them for you! Coming from owning a home – having a maintenance guy provided (for the unknown) and not having to purchase light bulbs for a rental home is superb. It really doesn’t get much better than that! Oh, when we decided to rent, we were able to pick the kitchen back splash/​cabinet colors due to available units. It was great! I would also check out the loft as well– we would have rented that unit but we needed the garage. Parking is super easy too! If you need to do any street parking, just talk to Tammy and she has some great insight on permits available to help.
You will not want to miss out on these units! These condos feel like a custom built home, not just another dull apartment rental. I highly recommend Urbane Redmond to anyone looking to live in the city but feel like you are in a high-​end home.

I give the actually apartment very high marks. Great fixtures and kitchens. Superb location despite lots of noisy construction next door. Yet, still the absolute best in Redmond.
However, the property management is the worst I have ever dealt with. They had me running to buy a house when my lease was up to escape their incompetence and poor customer service.

I have lived here for 2 years. I don’t know about the bass issue for Peter, but pretty much everything else he said was wrong. We moved into the same unit as him after he left. How do I know? He didn’t update some of his magazine subscriptions and had a ton of catalogs sent to the address after he left. Also we had the same neighbors he did after he moved out and we heard nothing. Not anything. There was no rain issue on the roof. There were no bass problems from other tenants.
The maintenance person is here 2 or 3 times per week, usually 3. Sometimes he’s here more. Julie is insanely easy to work with and keeps in touch with tenants like crazy. We had an issue with our dishwasher and she was VERY informative. She has always been super helpful. Management has responded to all of our calls very quickly and I’ve been more than satisfied.
These places are great. The interiors are great. The appliances are fantastic. The layouts are wonderful and everyone here is very helpful. The community watches out for itself and our neighbors are friendly.
Sub-​woofers in townhomes are a bad idea. I’m not sure why anyone would think otherwise, so that’s really on the tenant. Julie I think you should ban them for future residents :).
Really this place is amazing. It’s half a block from a transit center, a block from a Trader Joes, it’s within walking distance of tons of stuff.
Here is an update to this review as of 7÷30÷15
Pamela was the manager in part of 2014. She was ridiculously incompetent. The company fired her and hired Tammy as quickly as the could find a qualified and suitable replacement. Pamela was a dark spot in terms of management. She was actually kind of a comedy show, but unprofessional. I’m glad she’s gone. This place still gets 5 stars from me. Units are great.

I lived at Urbane for most of 2011 and 2012, in two different townhouses. Before I moved in, I toured most of the apartment complexes in Redmond. Urbane was far and away the best. After moving in, the experience just got better. Julie the manager and Francisco the maintenance guy are very professional and responsive. They even change lightbulbs! I never had a maintenance request go more than 2 days without being responded to, and always it was taken care of to my satisfaction shortly after that. The townhouses are luxuriously outfitted and ideally located. They are a bit more expensive than other complexes nearby, but with Urbane, you definitely get what you pay for!

I’m a current resident of Urbane. I’ve actually lived in two different units here and love it. I’m pretty sure I have the best apartment in all of Redmond. :-)
I’m sorry to hear of Peter’s experience because I have always found the property management to be extreemly responsive and helpful. The maintance person is on site twice a week to take care of any issue that does not require a specialist. I was especially thrilled to find a place that had high end finishes; Viking gas range, Jenn Air fridge, granite countertops and outdoor decks.
I think of Trader Joe’s as my second fridge because it’s so close. My apartment is conveniently located close to grocers, movie theaters and restaurants. It’s also just a block away from the Sammamish trail for walks, runs or taking a bike ride. The town of Redmond has so much to offer and Urbane is the perfect place to take advantage of it all.

Although I am not a tenant of Urbane, Julie has been wonderful to work with. I have been in touch with her the past three years about units in Urbane. Unfortunately, timing has always been off for us. Available units are rare to come by due to most tenants renewing their leases each year. I would highly recommend working with Julie and thank her for her patience!
