Ive been going to Garlic Jim’s for years and never had a complaint or issue. Tonight I placed my order online for delivery like i have done many times in the past. The pizza arrived on time and delivery wasn’t the issue. Tonight like all other times I ordered 2 gluten free pizzas for delivery. Both pizzas showed up and only 1 was marked gluten free. Upon opening the boxes neither were gluten free. You can tell because the gluten free is really thin dark crust. Both of these were fluffy yellowish crust. I spent about 10 minutes trying to call and received an answering machine time and time again. Finally I was able to get through to someone who answered the phone. He looked up my order and told me that neither one was gluten free and that they didn’t have a driver that could deliver another pizza. I asked if I could come in and pick up another pizza and he was giving me a hard time about that. I ended up having to pay for a third pizza after already buying 2 that were susposed to be gluten free. The guy told me that the web site is sometime«weird» Weird what the fuck!!! you could of put me in the hospital. Gluten allergy isn’t a joke. Not only that but when I was in there there were 4 people standing around talking and complaining about their hectic schedules working 6 days a week all day at about 8:15. The phone was ringing and ringing in the background. Nobody answering it. Believe me if it were my business and I was aware that the web site didn’t work right about taking gluten free I would take that option off the site. Its sad because I won’t be ordering from garlic Jim’s anymore because they have the best gluten free pizza in town. They should of made it right. they should of rushed 2 gluten free pizzas out to me right away. Plenty of staff was standing around doing nothing. I shouldn’t of had to pay for the pickup order at least but instead I had to pay full price. No apology, nothing… The staff at this place just don’t care about their jobs. Believe me I will be calling and having a word with the manager in the morning. This is not how you run a business!

Great pizza at a good price! I have never had them deliver and I alway pick up so I am not hard lining them for delivery rules. I have always received great service and great product. But then again I understand what it takes to run a company and what time and money are worth. It’s worth a try if you like good pizza and your not a Unilocal attention whore and knit pick everything.

Gosh, I don’t know. maybe if it were a bit lower in price I would give another star for the veggie pizza. But $ 23 bucks for a small(they call«medium») pizza and a very small garden salad plus delivery tip put us at $ 28 for a very modest meal. If you are up in that $ 25 dollar range, it usually means you are paying for a local, unique place known for its special dishes etc. The salad was no different than one from a drive thru fast food chain, there was absolutely nothing special about it. The pizza was slightly better than some«chain» pizza delivery places but in no way has it made it out of the ordinary, bla category. On a positive the delivery was close to time promised and driver nice and courteous.

Placed an order online nearly 2 hours before closing and was charged. Was told half an hour later that the restaurant decided to close early, would not be delivering the order despite accepting payment and will not be issuing a refund for five days. Completely surreal, complete and total garbage. Thank you for nothing garlic jim, still hungry.

Came in for the lunch special. I discovered dust in the ceiling and serious dust on the outside right above and next to where the food sits on the table! I finished my meal and went in to find someone or a manager to comment and could not find anyone. After 10 minutes I left. It took about 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge me when I first walked in and the open sign is turned off during business hours. The good news is that the specialty pizza was delish, loaded with lots of toppings. I was pleasantly surprised to find my meal came with garlic bread. The bread was fine, a little hard and burned, but the tomatoe sauce for dipping that came with it was great! I wish there was more of a garlic flavor on the pizza for a place with garlic in the name.

Mediocre pizza, mediocre service. I’ve ordered twice through the EAT24 app and requested pick up. I usually give them an hour and wait for confirmation of pick up until I go in. When I go in to pick up they are always so surprised there’s an online order and that’s when they actually start making the pizza. So I end up waiting in the overheated restaurant for 30 minutes to get my pizza even though I ordered it an hour before going in. Pizza isn’t even that great to have to wait that long so after 2 tries I will not be going back.

Took the family to Garlic Jims Pizza not much seating but man was the pizza good. We ordered a large pepperoni and sausage and it was very tasty. The only reason I didn’t give them 5 because the computer was down and had to pay cash. The thin crusty was a little soggy but still tasted great.

I’ve ordered from here several times. In general, the pizza is good and that is why I’ve ordered so many times. Unfortunately, there are a couple big problems. First, they close kind of early for a pizza joint. No worries, I checked the hours and called at about 8:20pm a few months back and was told«Sorry, we’ve already closed. We can’t deliver and you can’t pick up.» Great… so I’ve only been ordering before 8pm. This evening, however, I placed my order online and received a phone call several minutes later. They told me something I had never been told before by any delivery place ever. They said they don’t deliver to me. When asked why not, since I had ordered delivery from them several times before, they said because they had been told by some random person walking outside that they couldn’t park where they had parked. Apparently, that is enough for them to black list a location even though there is street parking(metered) and free street parking on the side and back and even a guest parking lot they can use…

Not too shabby for a garlic chicken pizza for $ 19 after tax and delivery. Don’t get me wrong, this is definitely a step up from your main chain pizza line. If you’re looking for something with a little more«fizz,» Garlic Jims is not a bad choice. The thing about Garlic Jims is that it is all there. Meaning the toppings are on the pizza, the dough is cooked, and the cheese is present. There is definitely flavor but I feel it falls a little short of some of the more amazing pizza parlors I have previously visited. Again, not to say there is anything wrong with Garlic Jims at all. TIP: If you feel you have not developed a very strong pallet for what makes a pizza good versus what makes a pizza amazing, you will not be disappointed with this place. Otherwise, don’t be surprised if it doesn’t possess that secret ingredient, home-style, twice fermented, valley grown, sunny-side-up fizazz. It does hold up on it’s delivery with garlic, and the service is friendly. Overall, I am satisfied that I got to experience what pizza is like at Garlic Jims.

Have ordered at least 15 times in the last 2 years and I always picked up. Always do a half and half and have always been completely happy with our Pizza. Look forward to my next order.

If I had written this review shortly after Garlic Jim’s first opened in The South Bay, they would’ve received a 5-star rating — easily. In the past, I’ve loved their pizzas so much, I’ve actually photographed them and tweeted the images. Sadly, those days seem to be gone now. After my last several experiences with Garlic Jim’s, and the pizza my housemate picked up from them tonight, they’re lucky to have 1 star. Firstly, I ordered a THICK, HAND-TOSSED crust pizza. I said it several times and the guy who took my phone order repeated it. But I received a SOGGY, THIN-CRUST pizza. It was the most TASTELESS and UNAPPETIZING dough I’ve ever eaten in my life. It had less flavor than a cracker! Because I had a coupon, I decided to go with an extra-large. Normally, I get a large. When I asked the phone guy about the difference in size, he said that the large pizza has 8 slices while the extra-large has 12. When my housemate brought the pizza home, I was stunned. The extra-large pizza did not appear much — if at all — bigger than the large size. What was different, and very obviously so, was the size of the slices. My extra large had 12 slices, alright. But they were about half the width of those from the 8 slice pizza. WHAT A SCAM! And then, there was the issue of the toppings. WHATTOPPINGS? There was hardly any, with even big, uncovered areas in places. But there was plenty of dough around the sides. The THIN-CRUST pizza had a WIDE-CRUST edge, with little in the middle. And again, what was there was soggy and extremely unappetizing. The pepper was limp, old. The olives were limp, mushy. The mushrooms tasted like soil. The tomatoes were whimpy slivers, not firm slices. There was little sauce, little cheese and it, too, was flavorless. But the few, little bits of what I think was supposed to be sausage was over-powering with a fake, smokey flavor that turned my stomach. Since when is Italian sausage smokey? This pizza was in no way worth the $ 19.42 we were charged for it. It was AWFUL. How Garlic Jim’s has gone from being the most awesome pizza parlor in the area to this is beyond me. In the past, my orders have been messed up, ingredients have been left off, discounts have not been applied, and I’ve had increasingly less generous and more unremarkable pizzas, but nothing this ATROCIOUS. Oh, and the thin, soggy crust’s wide, bready edge was gummy too. What did they do? MICROWAVEIT? I hate to say it but I think the last time I had a Domino’s Pizza, it was better than Garlic Jim’s. How do you make a pizza this bad, send it off with a customer and think it’s OK? It wasn’t the worst pizza I’ve ever eaten in my life, but it was pretty, darn close.

I have ordered delivery here several times… I give them a solid 4 stars… not quite up the quality of a mom and pop joint… but I feel their pizza is much better than the«big 3» chains… and we know those are D, PH, And PJ’s… I just can’t eat those pizzas when know there are other options available. I would put this pizza just ahead of Round Table, which I feel is also very good for a chain operation. As far as the bad service complaints I see listed on some reviews that was not my experience… my order has always arrived very warm though not really hot… that is kind of to be expected with delivery… if you want a really hot pizza you have to eat in. I found the people on the phone to be pleasant and helpful… never even a hint of rude service. One time I order a 2 pizza special from a coupon I got in the mailer packet and the guy on the phone told me I could save a little more by instead using their 20 percent off special they were running… I didn’t even know of that special so they went out of their way to give me the best deal they could. I appreciate that honesty in a business. As far as the actual food the toppings are very fresh and they put on a good amount… the cheese and crust taste good… again, nothing out of this world great but for a reasonable priced delivery chain I would say the pizza is quite good. My only gripe was when we ordered medium pizzas they left like 2 inches of outer crust around the pizza with no toppings… so on a medium about half the pizza was just crust… with the center half of the area being topped pizza. now the crust is good but plain crust should not make up half the pizza. That was only on one order though, so not really a big deal. I would say that given their coupon specials the prices are competitive with the national chains specials… maybe a buck to two more… and I would say that is money well spent for the superior quality of the food. In sum they have very good but not great pizza, and my experience has been very good as far as the service.

My wife would give this place 5 stars but when I find a 5 star pizza I will be back set least once a month. Haven’t found it yet. We ate the pie on site which gives it the best chance of a good rating. Excellent crust with decent toppings. I would come here again. Price was very fair. Definitely better than Jacks down the road.

My wife and I visited this place today for the first time and ordered Jim’s veggie medium pizza. We loved the ambience and pizza too. Definitely will visit this place again.

Review update: We actually got our order this time by calling Jim direct. Yum this is great pizza! They won’t get all 5 of my stars because of the ordering issues but man it’s good pizza!

Once in a while we do pizza, and we’ve tried a lot of delivery for those lazy night where you just want to om nom nom nom… So far, so good with Garlic Jim’s. — Delivery is usually fast — Plenty of e-mail and online coupons. — Good ingredients, cooked well. — Plenty of toppings and crust options. — Easy to navigate website. — Decent prices. — Friendly drivers. Not much more to say about it… I think they beat the national chains like Domino’s and Papa Johns in quality and consistency. I also think they’re a little ahead of Fresh Brothers. It is not artisan pizza like local one-off restaurants(Union Pizza, Grimaldi’s, or Charlie’s) but it’s a good for Friday night movie night delivery food experience. ENJOY!

We’ve seen this place while getting ice cream at Handel’s for a while, now, but haven’t previously gone since my girlfriend is not a huge garlic fan and the name scared her. However, as she was recently out of state visiting family, her son and I decided to try it. The name is misleading; the pizza is not overly garlic-flavored(I do like garlic, and could have used more). The dough is hand-tossed and rolled in cracked corn flower; maybe name it Jimmy Crack Corn Pizza? Quality of the food was fine, both the pizza and the salad Dustin had, probably comparable to Calif. Pizza Kitchen(no, not a huge fan of theirs). Perhaps could give these guys 3.5 stars, as food was okay, and staff was friendly. Does seem like they have a good lunch deal, though. A bit far away for me to try though.

Good lunch special. One topping personal sized pizza, salad and a 20 ounce soda for $ 6.49 plus tax. Simple salad with tomatoes, onions, cheese and lettuce served in a small plastic container(about the size of a softball). Nice and fresh with the dressing served in its own container. Bottles of soda, no refills. Had a Canadian Bacon and pineapple pizza. Nice, large slices of bacon, decent amount of both items. Much better flavor than your average personal sized pizza. I think it’s hard to judge a pizza place on personal sized pizza flavor. But that being said, it is pretty darn good. A little sweetness in the sauce but not so much as to take the attention away from the crust, cheese and added items. I’ll return. In the same parking lot as Handel’s so you can always get ice cream after. Worth a try in my book. Enjoy!

A little surprised to see that they have such low ratings! Their pizza is freakin bomb-ay! Got some pizzas for Father’s Day after my sister and her fiancé were RAAAVING about this place. We ordered a tomato and Canadian bacon pizza, the Chicken Bacon Ranch This savory pizza is topped with our grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onions and creamy ranch sauce. –DELISH! It was definitely creamy and full of flavor! and the third pizza was the Jim’s Garlic Chicken This gourmet pizza starts with a delicious garlic basil sauce topped with grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, green peppers, red onions, roasted garlic and grated parmesan cheese. –My favorite one. I ate like 3 pieces of this one. Super cheesy, and that garlic.unf. They also have a garlic spread sauce and a dipping sauce. both of them were amazing. I was dipping into it like it was ranch! It’s a little far me to just go and eat, but if anyone is going to order it. I’M THERE!

Being from New England and the east coast originally, it’s admittedly hard to find REAL pizza out here in La, however I was fortunate enough to discover a hidden gem that reminds me of home Garlic Jim’s Pizza. They have a wonderful variety, great choice of thin and thick crusts, gluten free or regular. The toppings are tasty and sundry in their offerings. Real fresh ingredients, reasonably priced. I’m not ready to crown them as good as you find in Italy or even NYC, but it’s pizza worth being an honorable mention. The staff there is friendly, the enviornment is humble but clean. They do a nice job of taking care of their customers and are very attentive. They have become my go to place in the area. Thanks Garlic Jim’s for all you do and I look forward to enjoying your food this evening!
