Redondo Beach Pier

This pier is beautiful. You can come breath in fresh beach air. You get to walk around and look at the waves and feel the breeze. They have benches were you can sit and relax as well. There is a section that you just walk by and there is no stores. It’s just the view that keeps you mesmerized. I really did enjoy walking and not have anything disturb my view, Once I continued to walk I noticed restaurants and stores.
It’s a great place to come do some shopping and to go eat funnel cakes. There all a lot of stores were you can buy souvenirs. They have really cool stuff and there not too expensive. I love window shopping. That’s what I usually tend to say and then come out with something. Then the restaurants look very nice. I still haven’t had the opportunity to go to one. What I do always get is a funnel cake.
I think Redondo beach pier is known for their funnel cakes. Everyone I talk to always asks if I got a funnel cake when I tell them I went. Yes, I always get one. There a lot of little spots that sell them and I try and buy one at different ones. Most of them are the same prize and it’s just the way they make them that is different. I got one for me at the first one I saw and it was pretty small. My sister bought one from a different spot and it was big. It was more pricey, but it’s worth it.
Also, there is a little arcade were they have great games at great prizes. You can check it out in Unilocal.It’s called the fun factory. I believe that is the main attraction of the pier to most people. The parking structure is right next to this little arcade. There is plenty of parking and it is really inexpensive. The parking is $ 1.50 the hour and they have specials… I want to say on the weekdays. They don’t have a limit of hours. If you want to stay longer you just have to deposit more money. They take cash and cards. DON’T FORGET TO PAY BEFORE YOU HEAD TO THE PIER. Parking can be a little confusing because you go right in and park.
You can park and a lot of people do not know they have to pay at the machines before they go walk. Remember the number and then you input it in the machine. Then it ask how many hours you want to park and you pay. Also, you need exact change or use your card. Everything else should be really fun if you don’t get your car towed or a ticket for not paying.
With that said, pay your parking and go have fun. Start off at the arcade and go off from there. There is a really good seafood restaurant right next to the arcade if you get hungry. Then, go take a walk and enjoy the scene. Do a little shopping, but don’t max out your credit cards. Lastly, eat a funnel cake with ice cream on top. Enjoy!

One of the old high school hangout spots, the RB pier has stayed consistent throughout the years. At the west end of Torrance Blvd, it sits north or Torrance beach, and has many shops and some restaurants within it. El Torito is my restaurant of choice here, and the walkways with picturesque views are a plus to coming here. On the northern side of the pier lies seafood shops, and a small arcade. There is a marina where you can go on boat rides for 30 minutes, and people doc their small boats here.
I like coming here to run on the sand. Starting at the south end of the pier, headed to the start of the PV peninsula, and back is a run several miles long and formidably challenging.
The crowd here is a mix of many different people. Redondo Beach PD is on the case, and I’ve never seen any major incident go down here. The place gets pretty crowded on weekends and holidays, but that’s expected.
If you’re going to the beach, I recommend parking by Veterans Park. If you’re going to the pier, then park in the structure. Parking is relatively inexpensive.

The sky was amazing. The atmosphere was great. Everyone was chatty and welcoming. Tons of people were taking pictures and fishing. From a business aspect the pier was making a killing. Everyone was smiling, everybody. Kids weren’t complaining. My girlfriend was though. The prices are a little steep, I got charged 3.45 for a 24 oz. Coke. She had to have something to drink; she was crying. I was beyond ecstatic for the entire adventure up until then. I had to throw that in there as it was part of the memory. Their fish was smelling great and BBQ was smelling great. I got a lot of good pictures in less than 2 hours. This is a beautiful place to visit and I would recommend it to anyone. The entire atmosphere is dreamy.

This is a good place to go during summer, just note its always full but the seafood is fresh and if you get dungeness crab you can rent for a $ 1.00 the little hammer to break it open easier. They sell beer and wine. You have the arcade zone for the kids with the ride which is so affordable. You can take a stroll and get dessert on the pier.

I just love to walk the pier and check out the critters… they come in all shapes and sizes. =]

I love visiting Redondo Beach Pier. It is always enjoyable every visit. I have been visiting this place since I was a little girl. They have variety of things to do there. They have a lot of small shops, restaurants, a park, and also have an arcade.
When I was a little girl, my family used to take me here a lot. We used to buy food from the restaurant, then set up our blankets at the park and have a mini picnic at the park over looking the ocean. We would bring our soccer ball and football and play around on the field. They also have a playground for kids to play on and swings.
At the pier, they have a designated spot to fish. You can rent equipments or bring your own and fish for free. They also have a sink in the designated area to clean the fish you just caught.
The also have a parking structure. The parking structure is covered, so you don’t have to worry returning to your car over heated during the summer.
Very enjoyable place and will keep returning.

While on the West Coast… this is one of my favorite spots to visit when near the beach. Parking was free due to the holidays. That was also an extra bonus.
If only you could walk down on the beach area between Tony’s and Kincaid’s.

Beautiful beach and pier! We went here during the day at the end of October. There are a ton of shops and restaurant but many were closed while we were there. I could understand since it’s not summer and it’s not entirely warm enough where the beach is crowed. I would have love to be here when it’s a little warmer out. There were a few shops and restaurants I wanted to try here but unfortunately they were closed. I wanted to try the famous seafood joint but they were temporary closed from the Heath department… anyways beautiful beach! Very clean! Tons of stores.

If you know anything about the Redondo Beach Pier you know that its a miracle that it still exist. This pier or combination of piers has been rebuilt and renamed so many times the scholars on jeopardy have a difficult time recalling its history much less its official name «I’ll take Redondo Pier for two-​hundred Alex» — «What is a Phoenix» well that question won’t win you any money but it was a great guess being this wooden pier has risen from the ashes and continues to defy Mother Nature’s attempts to wash it into the ocean and survives attempt by a arsonist who burnt it to the water line in 1988 — I think his name was Electrical (Short) Circuit hmmm sounds like a suspicious character if you ask me. Call it what you want its official name is «Municipal Pier», and it has also been called the «Endless Pier», «Pleasure Pier» and «Horseshoe Pier» why would any one change their name so many time unless they are trying to hide something or reinvent themselves.
Walking the cold impersonal structure that was again completed in 1995, it’s clear that the last rebuild was an attempt to battle the ocean and other meteorology events with its reinforced concrete and not so much about the nostalgia that drew the heavy crowds of tourists and locals during the 1970s the heyday or last hurray before its epic decline that left it in bankruptcy in 1982. Subsequent attempts to resuscitate the area’s popularity have been much less successful with challenges by the likes of Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach, in the neighboring city of Torrance.
«There are plans in the works» oh how familiar those words must be to those that have grown up in this area… but seems to be political viable :-)

My parents used to take me here when I was a little girl and to be honest, not much has changed… except for a few restaurants. I have to say, it is odd to see El Torito on top of the pier, but I can’t hate. I used to eat there at least once a week.
This is definitely the place you want to come for seafood and dessert.
This is a great place to eat, walk around, play some arcade games, people watch, and chill on the beach.
Some of the bathrooms located where the arcade is at, is disgusting. But the bathrooms located on the second level is slightly better.

Redondo Beach Pier… so much fun.
This is one of my favorite piers to come to. I have been coming here for years. Most recently I come for the seafood. Their crabs are outstanding and some of their other food is worth getting it as well.
They also have a good variety of other shops to enjoy. This place is kept fairly clean and not the typical craziness of people (as packed I mean) as other locations. They recently changed their parking set up which is much better. Now you can pay at a machine and then you will get a txt about 15 minutes before your time is up and just reply by txt to add more time. Very convenient and much easier than before.
They have a few big restaurants just to the right of the pier if you rather have a sit in meal with whomever you are with.
There is of course a bike, run lane for all of those athletes out there. I would recommend coming early to be able to enjoy this location. Again, I will be back here.

A bunch of friends and I walked around after dinner. It was really nice. I liked the fresh air, cool breeze, and sound of the waves hitting the rocks along the shore. In the dim light, we could even watch the water flowing back and forth… so peaceful and powerful!
There were some restaurants and shops — the one we noticed the most was Craig’s Hot Dog on a Stick! Some people were even fishing in the dark along the railings! It was a calm and pleasant area with free parking!
It would be cool to come back during the day time for a different atmosphere. Looking forward to the Lobster Festival at the end of the month!!! I think it’s near this pier?

My husband’s mom said since we were going to be in this South Bay that we should check out Redondo Beach Pier.
Because she used to go there many years ago to eat steamed crabs.
Unfortunately the place has just decade. It’s old, worn out. It ain’t what it used to be.
But it was still nice, nice weather, super cheap parking only 0.50 cents /​hour (on the honor system, no tickets none check it.)

I love this pier!
Much more quiet and tranquil than Santa Monica or Venice… Just nice! After a swim in the ocean (as we did today, do it in the evening it is the most beautiful), it’s relaxing to stroll along there.
Eat great fish or crab at International Seafood. Then maybe as desert an ice on the pier and watch the numerous people fishing. Most of them brought their families with them and spend the evening together.
The easygoing starts with the parking lot. You drive into the parking garage, pay at the machine (2 $ an hour, which is from my point of view definitely reasonable), and go directly from the parking garage to the Pier. Couldn’t be better!

This place is beautiful! The parking situation is very easy and reasonably priced. The views are amazing and there is so much to do and see! From casual to fine dining, this is a great spot to relax and unwind.
I’ll definitely come back again to enjoy the rest of the bars and eateries.
Remember where you parked because by the end of the day you’ll be exhausted…

I really dislike the parking system that they have now.
If they had the old system of employees taking your ticket as you leave, I’d give the place 4 stars. I actually thought to revue this place because I was so annoyed by the parking.
I understand that everyone wants to maximize profits but please make sure that customers are not inconvenienced.
They have plenty of parking and except on particularly busy days, it’s easy to find a space.
OK — NOW you have to remember your parking space number (I take a picture just to be certain). 2^nd: locate an automated payment machine. 3^rd: figure out how to operate the machine. 4^th: determine how long you want to stay. Enter the time you want to stay and make payment. Take your receipt.
I wasn’t sure if I needed to place the receipt on my dash or not. I read everything I could and didn’t see that so I decided to keep the receipt on me.
I was near a restaurant (at the north end of the Pier) and wanted to eat but I didn’t have enough time on my meter. OK, I can add time at a payment machine. I saw a payment machine not too far from the restaurant. I could not figure out how to add time. I let a few people make their payment and I got back in line a few times to try to add time.
I thought maybe I couldn’t make payment that far away from my car. Maybe there are separate systems. I took the long walk back to my car. Went to the payment station where I originally paid. This time I noticed that there is a code on the original receipt — you MUST enter this code when extending time (it says «Add Time#:______). I entered that code but it wouldn’t allow me to add time.
I had only put 2 hours on originally and I know you can go past that because people paying near me were putting 3 or 4 hours on theirs.
I moved my car and made another payment.
I don’t want to park here again. I find it annoying and inconvenient. I’ll visit this pier when I bicycle or skate down from Hermosa or Manhattan Beach but the parking system is a huge negative experience for me.

With these kind of places, it’s hard to complain. Pay for the parking and go! There are tons of things to do here and it’s a perfect way to spend time with your family and love ones. I have been coming here for years and it has gotten better.
Food. Of all kinds. The best thing is the seafood and great views! Pedal boating, paddle boarding and boat touring will always be fun.
Simple and enjoyable.

I’ve been coming to the RB pier for years. It’s a fun tourist attraction, granted, it needs a face lift, BADLY! You will find a variety of things to do and eat.
I was at the RB pier this past weekend for the kite fair. We flew our kite and got it tangled with several other participants, which was fun — LOL! The kite fair is on the Palos Verdes side of the pier, right on the beach. It’s a fun event to check out.
WARNING: weekend parking can be tough!

Came here for the first time last weekend since my boyfriend and I wanted to discover other SoCal beaches we’ve never been to. The drive here was beautiful and lots of hills. Seeing different kinds of houses near the beach was interesting to look at. As we pulled up to park, we were just blown away of how beautiful you can physically see the California coast is.
There weren’t too many people when we went but that was cool. There were more people fishing than anything. Not too many tourists either. I will definitely come back again to try the restaurants in this area.

Do you love birds? I know I do! Mostly we come to this pier for birds watching, I saw some little kids feed the birds too, it looked fun, maybe I should try that next time!
This is such a nice pier to walk around, not overly crowded, not too big or too small, I wouldn’t get too tired from walking.
Some small food windows and restaurants along the pier and boardwalk. I am not sure about sitting outside eating seafood, it just doesn’t seem to be clean enough for me. I would choose a real restaurant and try some fresh seafood.
It is definitely a lovely spot for romantic dates on warm and sunny weekends, they also have events in the summer, it’s worth checking out sometime.
Ps. Public parking is $ 1.5 per hour.
