So this definitely isn’t the first time this has happened.
Called for parts— guy said he had them in stock and put aside waiting for me.
I drive the hour it takes to get there the next day and sure enough, they only had one of the parts even in stock. I was barely apologized to and just left with a thumb up my butt.
Called again— got the first guy who said he had the parts — and he just hangs up the phone on me. His name was KYLE
Such a waste of time at this place and they treat you like crap. Who knows how they are still in business???

Kelly is amazing. Spent 40 minutes with us finding a helmet. After being to two other stores she was the most helpful and best selection. Thank you Kelly!

Purchased a Ducati recently from this dealer. The sales manager and sales associate can’t do math and constantly told me one «discount» amount and wrote something significantly different. Be careful of what they say and write. Get EVERYTHING in writing.
I paid cash (check actually) for the bike. I explained I had to either wire the money to them or transfer the money to checking account. They said write a post-​dated check and they would hold it until the transfer cleared.
Later that day my bank reported a bounced check, they attempted to deposit it and now I’m stuck with the bank fees. Learn something here folks, don’t trust what they say. They tried to say post dated checks are illegal (they are not) and yet they have a form for using them…
The parts dept was «supposed» to provide me tires for my other bike at cost and instead sold me overpriced «on-​sale» tires «at-​cost» which was significantly more than anywhere else.
Be cautious as they will say anything to make a sale, get it all in writing.
I should have went to Goodtimes in Sacramento, its worth the 2hour drive to not deal with Michael’s employees.
I do love my new bike! I won’t be using these guys for service or parts ever again. Parts are cheaper and ship faster from revzilla online.

I have bought many motorcycles and accessories from this establishment and I am very pleased with the customer service and attention to detail.

We just recently purchased a new dirt bike for our daughter. With the trade in balance we had $ 612.00 to spend on accessories and at the accessories counter we were at about $ 450.00 worth of stuff. But when we got back to finish the deal they said we owed them $ 150.00 more so they upped the prices of all the merchandise we purchased. Which seems to be a shady way to do business.

I have notified the owner of several issues that friends and I have encountered here. She did call me back. After telling her that a friend purchased a motorcycle there and not putting any fuel in it, I was hoping at a minimum, she would call my friends and apologize. To this date nothing has happened. So I suppose not using a checklist to sell a bike is not a mandatory item. In this case the bike sputtered and died after 4.5 miles because of no fuel. I wonder what other items they are NOT doing when they do a purchase delivery checklist or any other checklist or procedure. Her only defense was that the «fuel the bike» item was not checked, after she looked up the paperwork. Oh, and I also forgot the young man told the buyer «keep the bike on reserve, so you can use all the gas» comment is crap. Any motorcycle rider or enthusiast knows better.
So who are they hiring?
I have more examples of the dealer trying to sell a 2012 bike at 2015 prices. That’s another story for later, but the owner knows of this since I told her in person and sent her an email with a direct quote from a friend who was looking to buy there (even brought his wife with him too).
In the end I would NOT recommend this dealer for SALES, PARTS or SERVICE.
Oh I’m guessing these practices go for her shop in Carson City as well.
Save yourself grief, overpriced bikes, no pride in service before or after the sale, and staff that is lacking basic information and knowledge.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! !!!

To mirror some other people… I don’t know who talked to me but as I was walking around looking for motorcycles more than one person gave me the stink eye and one dude specifically told me to be careful with the bike. Seriously? I’ve been riding for 21 years. Don’t go here if you’re a girl.

I just got my first motorcycle this past November. I’ve started getting the gear that I need to ride, but I was having a very tough time getting the right size boots. Unfortunately I didn’t find a pair here either.
However, I was talking to a salesman, Matt, who was very helpful with any info I needed. He even gave me names of other stores that might have the right size for me. He told me the best gear to buy and what the best motorcycle would be for me. I’m short, so it makes buying certain things more difficult.
I’m very happy I stopped in here and was able to have a casual and informative conversation with someone who knows what he’s talking about.

He hooked me up with my original Ducati and is always a pleasure to do business with. He made getting into motorcycling really easy and has hooked me up since with discounts on apparel and helmets!
These guys are awesome!

Took my bike there be serviced got it back with a big scratch on the tank. They would not own up to it and after a BS run around I finally gave up, pure BS, the bastards. I have to agree with other posts how in the H are they still in business.

And yet another horrible parts dept review: I have had several barely adequate and unenthusiastic parts people help me over the last few years. I usually let time heal my frustrations and come back out of convenience only to leave shaking my head and telling myself never again. My last interaction was the icing on the never again cake. This was some time ago, I needed a new rim for my SxS. I walked in, ordered, paid, and was told they would contact me when it comes in, probably 3 – 5 days. One week later I called to check on it. Parts guy says «yeah, I think it’s here. Let me check.» He comes back on the line saying no, wasn’t in yet. I call back another week later, 14 days from order time. I am again told it isn’t hear yet. I said I ordered it 2 weeks ago, is it on back order? Big sigh…“grumble grumble… Let me check.” He gets back online and says it’s not here but it says it’s here… let me look around.” I said ok I’m about 5 minutes away, I’ll just stop in. Original guy says it’s not here, I ask for the manager. He comes over after talking to parts guy in the back. The manager tells me they screwed up and never ordered the wheel. I say ok, how fast can you get me one? He says, there is one in Florida, I’ll order it, probably at least a week. I said that is horrible, please overnight it, or take a new one from the back and give it to me. He says no, I can’t take a new one, they won’t let me. And here I thought he was the parts MANAGER. I was getting ready for a trip with my SxS and couldn’t trust them. I told them that, he said sorry again and that was all he could do for me. I said that was really too bad, as I would be taking my business elsewhere. Over a lack of willingness to help a customer after admitting they screwed up, they not only lost $ 150 dollar part, but a $ 23,000 sale on a new SxS loaded with everything I want. I will still go there, but only to look…

i am looking for a yamaha wr250 F (not the R) i want the dirt model (not the dual purpose model) i contacted the sales department and talked to (spencer) he quoted me a price on the f model when i was ready to buy the bike he changed the quote saying he quoted the r model which is cheaper than the f model i was very clear that i wanted the f model from the beginning this is bullshit i won’t buy a bike from these guys

I had brought my new ’14 Ducati Monster 1200s there for the initial 600 mile inspection and was under the impression that everything had been completed and checked over. Especially since it took a few hours and cost hundreds of dollars.
Well, I just had my next required service (at a different dealership) and they notified me that the previous (600 at Michaels) hadn’t been done properly. They said that this was identified because there was a cover on a part that was supposed to be removed at the 600 mile checkup, which hadn’t been. Purely unacceptable.
Big no-​no. Never again, Michaels.

Someone recommended I provide more context around my review. So here it is.
In the 5+ times I’ve gone to the parts department I have always been met with a staff that could care less about helping a customer, at least that is the feeling I get personally. When someone ask questions, A very short one word answer doesn’t make me feel like you either know your product or care to give your customer a good experience. There’ve been multiple times I’ve gone up to the parts counter and stood there waiting minutes while the guys behind the counterhad their conversation and then turn around and look to me as if I was bothering them by asking for some help. And it was clear the conversation they were having wasn’t in helping another customer it was just a conversation between colleagues.
Also, it doesn’t provide for a positive customer experience when you treat customers who may be aren’t as experienced in the maintenance aspect of riding like they’re idiots or they’re bothersome because they’re asking some general questions in order to learn.
Lastly, if someone is buying everything to do an oil change you would hope that the parts person would understand the differences between the different oils and ask probing questions for example where will you be writing how do you ride etc., and most importantly provide you the washer that you know you need or ask you if you need one before leaving and then having to come back. And then when you come back they have to have someone else what kind of washer.
I hope this is enough context for my review and I welcome anyone who wants to discuss it whether they are eight Michael’s client potential client or someone who works at Michael’s.

Okay, well, maybe they had phone issues. I ended up getting through after all and got to book an appointment.
I have to say once I actually got the bike into the shop the service was excellent. I have a Ducati and they can be a quirky brand to work on. Cam, the tech sorted me right out and fixed several issuse that a master Ducati technician at another Ducati dealer missed.
While I admit I was very critical on their customer service when it comes to connecting with customers I can however recommend with confidence their expertise when it comes to servicing and repairing ducati’s.

Bought a bike from here, got financing came back to pick it up and they had sold it to someone else! The sales man called the day I was to come get it and said everything was all set and then 20 minutes later called back to say they sold it to someone else.
This is the type of service this dealership is known for. They run all of their business’s like this. I went in their sister store In Carson and couldn’t get someone to pull a bike out to even look at it let alone bother to try and sell one.

I have had nothing put very good service from the service department. I own a 2008 Can Am Spyder — purchased in Sacramento. THAT dealer went belly up. Therefore I had to use Michael“s for all upkeep and repairs since then.
Wayne in the service department has always treated me with courtesy and respect — never treating me like a dumb female he can price gouge.
I have never felt the pricing was out of line for the services I have received: oil change, tune up type of things. Recall work has been done two times. Never had to wait for the part. Bike is ready when promised.
Having dealt with other motorcycle dealerships in Reno that were very rude and condescending — I can appreciate Wayne and the service staff.
The ONLY reason I did not give the 5^th star is this:
The part department DOES need more up to date customer service communication skills. They came off as disinterested in helping me get a price on a $ 1000.00 body kit — like I could not afford it or their phone screen was way more interesting.

I brought my snowmobile into the service dept to have a check engine light taken care of, and for a manufacturer required ecu update. They got it all fixed up, and I’m back out brappin! Michaels and Toms in Sierra city are the only places around the Tahoe basin besides Sacremento that can read a skidoo check engine light code, and michaels was $ 10 cheaper than the place in sac to read it.
Bought some oil and a belt for the sled too. They still had a decent selection of snowmobile stuff considering there was not much snow this year.

They have a good selection of gear for new riders. A good selection of motorcycles Suzuki, Yamaha, Ducati, Quads, Boats, Snowmobiles and other outdoor vehicles. The facility is in south Reno, NV. Always have plenty of parking and they have parking for motorcycles up front by the door. When I came here to get my pipes for my motorcycle the guy gave me around $ 100 to $ 200 off the the pipes. They installed it for me along with tail light eliminator, power commander, and sliders. These guys did a good job. I also bought my Yamaha from them too and it wasn’t that big a deal. They just didn’t give me the best price, but they include the pipes and everything else with the bike so it was okay. I would buy from them again but haggle more to a cheaper price. I also knew these guys not like friends, but I got to know them and they are okay guys. But I get along with people pretty well so I don’t know if this will help you. All in all it was an average purchase. I am happy with my purchase.
It also seems like this place is getting either a really good review or the worst review. So there is something going on there. It is disappointing that these people have that sucky experience. I wish They could figure out what the problem is because this place can be awesome. Thanks for reading my review hope this helped you.
