This place was packed while I was dinning, which says a lot about there food. I got the gyro and a lamb plater and the portion was huge!!! I could have easily shared it with another person.

Sadly, this place is closed now due to re-development. But I’ve heard the family bought a new place: Grill Kabob at 905 Herndon Parkway, Herndon, VA ================== My Reston Kabob review from June 2007: My co-workers and I love to go here for lunch. I try to go at least once every other week. This is easily the best kabob I’ve had. Located in a tiny strip shopping center in Reston(near Reston Parkway). Look for Chili’s and drive right past that to Reston Kabob located next to it. It is across the parking lot from Popeye’s, next to a 7 – 11, dry cleaner/tailor, and a gas station. The chicken, lamb, and beef are all delicious. All the platters come with bread, big heaps of two kinds of rice, and a small side salad(lettuce and tomatoes). The kobeeda is good also. Big portions for a very reasonable price. The gyros are huge and taste great also. Big bottles of yogurt sauce and some kind of hot sauce(gently and carefully shake it to mix it up a bit) that’s tasty, but super hot. The service is friendly, but rushed. But that’s to be expected when the line goes almost to the door during the lunch rush. Get there early to beat the rush and get a seat. No complaints. The line moves fairly quickly and is well worth the wait.

After living in Reston for 10 years, I moved away and am still driving back here just for these guys. I’ve tried numerous kabob joints over the years, and simply put, nobody comes close. Best 2 sauces ever. Unique and pairs perfectly. Portions always beat everyone else. The bread, rice, everything was on point. And under $ 10. Gonna severely miss this place(after July 31). It was my #1 go-to in Reston(with Ariake and Phở Reston 75). Guess I’ll try the Herndon spot(same owner) which supposedly has the same recipes.

This is my last and final review of this place. I think when we started going a couple of years ago, this place was an entirely different place than it has morphed into now. Since they are closing I’m sure they don’t give a s**t about how they do on Unilocal(also clear from my most recent experience there) but I gotta be thorough. When my boyfriend and I first started coming here a couple of years ago, this place blew us away. The gryos were absolutely delicious and crafted in such a way that they were almost an art form(in the way the ingredients were all layered and bundled together for every bite to be perfect and the gyro to be neat, tightly packed and perfect for eating with your hands). The customer service was excellent – every time we went in it was like going to your local small-town sub-shop and catching up with the cashier who knew us by name. Then a few months ago – maybe 6 or so – our cashier lady who we had become friends with, was gone. We never saw the owner guy anymore, and started only interacting with a young spanish girl who looked like literally working at this place was the last thing in the WORLD she wanted to be doing. She stared at you with a blank look every time you walked up and seemed utterly put out to have to even be listening to you place an order. No smiles, no thank you’s, no politeness, nothing. I tried to call in and place an order ahead of time a few times and 4 out of 5 times the phone would just ring endlessly – then one time we were in the store and I literally watched her not answer a phone for 10 minutes, then pick it up and hang it up without saying anything. Once in a blue moon she would answer – obviously when she felt like it. My boyfriend and I also noticed the quality of the gyros seemed to be going downhill. We eat there every week once a week(we call it our«gyro night» because we USED to love it so much so that we made a ritual of it) so we kind of figured some weeks might just be off but, after a while it became clear there must’ve been a change in staff or management or something and the quality was just appreciably worse. Everything that went INTO the gyro – onions, lettuce, tomatoes etc. – was in huge, inedible chunks just dumped onto the gyro(whereas before everything was thinly, carefully sliced and woven into the gyro with the meat). The strips of meat were huge hacked hunks, and the gyro would be spilling with ingredients, looking like it was just thrown together and sloppily wrapped up in foil. Previously, the gyros were packed neatly and nicely and you could eat no problem without making a huge mess – now they were virtually inedible without using fork and knife and practically a bib. We still liked the tastes though so we continued to go. We are majorly regular customers in that we come once sometimes twice a week, and after coming this often for the last year or so, my order had become a mainstay – I always ask if they can slice my meat really thin, since the huge thick slices gross me out. I get this is a kind of prima donna request but in the past they have always been happy to oblige and done a great job – my boyfriend’s gyro is normal with thicker slices and he adds feta cheese, and mine were the thinner, more cooked slices. Since the staff/management change that I assume took place, they have been increasingly annoyed by this request – acting confused whenever I said it and then not really following through. But yesterday they pissed me off to the point I had to write this review and we won’t be going there anymore. I asked for thin slices like I do every week, and my boyfriend went and picked it up. When I said it on the phone they even said«well we try to slice them all thin» and I just said«oh well we come in every week and I always say that and they always do a good job so, just figured I’d ask!» and laughed in a lighthearted way. What my boyfriend showed up with was 100% a clear«fuck you» from them – for the first time ever my gyro was in stale, tough, old bread, the vegetables were the hugest chunks they’ve ever done, and the meat was in such large chunks that it couldn’t have been more obvious that they purposely gave me the hugest and thickest and least cooked chunks they had(my boyfriend’s were regular sized like usual). I get that you guys are going out of business so you don’t give a fuck anymore, but come on, you could at least treat your REGULAR, PAYING customers with a bit more loyalty and respect than that. I literally gave my gyro to my dog and didn’t have dinner that night because I can’t afford to blow $ 10 on a gyro and then just go buy something else. I’m going to find out what the Herndon store’s name is and post this review there too since this place deserves some accountability – maybe your Reston store is closing but you still have one in Herndon!

I got the Gyro wrap and dear lord that thing was humongous. It was not only larger than life but very juicy and tasty. The meat is very tender, fresh. The only problem is you’ll still be full 2 days later. So plan a fast after one of these gyros.

Excellent food. Good quality ingredients. Fresh naan. Service is a little slow but that’s because everything is made to prepare. Lots of bang for the buck. Enjoy!

So much better than I expected. Their gyros reminds me the one I had in eastern Europe. Great price for a big portion of excellent food.

Our favorite place near the house for gyros. We get it as a salad. For us big enough to share. Adore the green spicy sauce on the table. No frills place hiding in the strip next to 7−11… order at the counter and they call your number. Most tables are communal in setup. Gets quite busy after 1130 for lunch. The gyros they serve is kronos brand which I like. Fountain is coke products but they also have Pepsi and coke plus other drinks in bottles… no alcohol. Decent baklava rounds out a meal. Not sure if they have other desserts

I’m keeping this at 4 star because the chicken and the bread are still great, and all kabob salads are dull I guess. What holds me back from 5 stars. 1) There’s no information on where the Chicken is sourced from. Info on it being all natural, free range etc is important. 2) We need to get away from styrofoam for carry out boxes and drinks. C’mon guys get on board the ecology wagon, we need to get these things sorted. They’re important.

Absolutely love this place, even with all the lunch spots in Reston, I say I come here twice a week. Excellent gyro, gyro platter and chicken kabob platter. Great bread. Amazing brown spicy sauce. The cashier is the man too. I would suggest calling in, during peak lunch hours the wait can sometimes be 10+ minutes, I still think it’s worth it.

Soo much food… They are very generous with the portions. Cashier was quick and our order was ready within 10 mins. Their bread is delicious. So fresh, soft, with a nice bite. Generous portions of rice, salad, and meats of your choice. The gyro platter was packed with meat. I loved the thinly sliced onions that came with it. Their white yogurt sauce and green spicy sauce are great. Though everything is already seasoned well, the sauces really add more flavor to the dishes. We shared it all and had plenty of leftovers. Seating was easy to find since we arrived a couple of mins after opening time. An hour after opening time, this place gets super packed. Especially on weekends. Restrooms are towards the front of the restaurant. Will be back!

This is a regular lunch spot for our work group and it always pleases everyone. Their chicken kabobs are good but not but of this world and I’m not a fan of their soupy chickpeas(but that’s just a personal preference) BUT the Gyro is always delicious and definitely my favorite thing on their menu. If you go, give it a try. I ask for additional rice instead of salad and they are always nice about it and I’m able to make two meals out of it. Great spot!

I read the reviews. 4 stars. I had my mouth and tummy ready, for we were going to have GOOD kabobs. I’m now apologizing to my mouth and tummy; we have been disappointed. You’d think with the line being so long, this place was serving gold on a pita. Not the case. I waited forever to order a beef kabob. I wanted rice and feta cheese as well. Fast forward 20something minutes and I got my food. It was A LOT of food. «I’ll have leftovers» I told myself. The meat is in HUGE chunks. Huge, rubbery, over-cooked chunks. Perhaps the food would have taken less time to come out if they didn’t cook SODAMNLONG. Then the pita/naan/whatever we’re calling it was ROCKHARD. Nothing pillowy and tasty it about. Just hard and flavorless. Boo. And the rice. The rice that had no flavor. I sprinkled my feta cheese on it and it was passable after that. So much food. So much nasty food. I pretty much gave up after a few chunks of meat. No leftovers. I didn’t want to relive this. As much as I WANTED to like Reston Kabob, I could not. The best part of my meal was my soda. Which was Dr. Pepper.

Usually this place is great. Tonight, they were really really bad. I waited one hour for my food. Another guy ahead of me left the food he ordered because they were taking too long. I over heard the lady up front state that she didn’t work there and she was just«helping out». I even went out of my way and ANNOUNCED the number myself. Horrible service. No leadership. I have never dealt with anything like this before, especially here. If this was a bad night then I hope management doesn’t allow another. *UPDATED* After speaking with the manager. He was very apologetic. He was gone for an hour when this whole mess happened. He honored my disaster and gave me a fresh new meal. Food and service was outstanding

Very low thrills restaurant, but very tasty food! Big warm fluffy pitas served with delicious and generous portions of perfectly seasoned and wonderfully succulent gyro meat = I am a happy camper. Also, that white sauce, yes. Just yes. Also please and thank you.

I ordered two combination platters for carry-out. The man on the phone said it would take 20 minutes. The food was just OK to me, I’ve been searching all over for an amazing kabob or gyro place in Northern VA, but Reston Kabob didn’t stand out to me. The two platters I ordered were the chicken kabob platter and the gyro platter. Each platter comes with rice, bread, and a salad. The good– the bread is piping hot when I picked it up, so I knew it was fresh. It was huge, too! Two slices with my 2 platters. The rice was a blend of two different types(not sure which). +Brown sauce. Which was spicy, definitely had a kick. The bad– the«salad» is the laziest salad. I’m not a huge fan of iceberg lettuce, but this salad was literally just that. And a slice of tomato thrown on top. Could be better or come with a dressing of some sort to spice it up? +White sauce: wasn’t consistent. Mine was much too mint-y tasting, my companion’s tasted a lot better. The chicken kabob was average, and the gyro gave you a lot of meat but was a OK imo too.

Sometimes I miss my home state VA a lot and sometimes not so much(bipolar weather). But, I know for sure I miss VA’s amazing kabob options. Then I reminisce about different kabob establishments… Finally, my mind thinks of Reston Kabob. It’s one of those restaurants, which truly comes high on my list of favorite kabob places. Kubieda kabob is a must!!! Either chicken or beef, you pick, your choice but order it!!! They are super busy always, to go and pick up is a great option. Don’t forget to get the sauces to go. I don’t know what’s in them but that they are so addicting and your missing on half the taste if you don’t get them. They have a amazing green minty sauce as well as a white cream yogurty sauce which complete the taste with the kubeida kabob. The naans are always fresh and amazing. The portions are big and fulfilling and that’s the best part of it. ~

Kabobs galore here and you can’t really go wrong here. SX and I have tried a variety of things here, pretty much everything except for the chicken kobeeda(ground chicken kabob). The portion size here is quite generous. The kabobs here are juicy, tender, and flavorful. The top choices being the chicken and the lamb, in my opinion. Each kabob platter comes with two types of rice, a simple salad(tomato, iceberg), and freshly made bread. They don’t offer grilled tomatoes or onions here like other kabob joints do. Even the gyro wrap is huge and tasty, that send you into a food coma afterwards. The only thing I’ve encountered is the side of chickpeas can be slightly inconsistent at times. Sometimes the chickpeas have been stewing for slightly longer at times, giving a better texture and becoming more flavorful. This place offers two sauces, a yogurt one and a spicy one. Both are great and the spicy definitely gives a nice kick of heat. If you get your meal to go, make sure you don’t leave the place without sauces at hand. This place gets packed during the weekday lunch hour, so call ahead to order if you want to save on time.
