There are a variety of services Home Instead CAREGivers can provide in the Richmond metro, including meal preparation, medication reminders, transportation to social activities and doctors’ visits, laundry, socialization and light housekeeping. We also provide personal care services such as bathing, toileting, dressing and mobility assistance. We also specialize in Alzheimer’s and dementia care. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year, our main goal is this: Living Home Instead.

History

Established in 1997.

Torsten and Teresa Steinfatt opened Home Instead Senior Care locally on September 1, 1997. As one of the original franchises, the Steinfatts have developed an organization that truly cares about people and provides the utmost customer satisfaction.

When Torsten passed away on Christmas Eve in 2010, his long and hard battle with cancer came to an end. At that point, Teresa’s determination to help others in similar situations, though, had just really begun. She then had an even deeper understanding of what Home Instead Senior clients and their family members and friends were going through.

Home Instead Senior Care is the world’s largest provider of non-​medical home care services to seniors. Today, we employ more than 350 full and part-​time employees in the Greater Richmond metro and are among the largest of more than 900 franchise groups for Home Instead Senior Care world wide.
