Before you consider using this guy, consider this… some of his reviews may be positive but he’s got enough (including mine) to tell you to stay away because if you happen to have a problem he can’t resolve to your expectation, he won’t tell you and you’ll not only lose your money, you’ll spend more to fix the problem he’s left behind. So do you really want to take that chance?
Anyway, my update: After reporting Pradeep Kumar to Living Social from whom I purchased the voucher, he suddenly contacted me immediately. Gave me excuses and lies but since I already puchased the deal, I decided to let him try to come over to fix issues in my house. BAD MISTAKE.
Let me just say as others have said, this guy does not know what he’s doing. He IS A HACK. Yes, he wings it and is completely unprofessional and will cut corners. This is fine if you have a light bulb to change or mice to catch but with anything that requires real skill and experience… he will fail. Don’t just take my word for it, look at my pictures — on the top of this page/​bottom of this review. Feel free to contact me and I’ll provide you with more details of his ‘work’.
I won’t go into details of everything but focus on the key item he was supposed to fix — my fence. He broke it instead. He misaligned the fence and left many of the screws out. The gate will not close without lifting — the same problem he was trying to fix but didn’t. As hard as this is to believe, it’s all true. In addition to all this, Pradeep claimed it was dry rot that broke my fence. While there was dry rot, it was his PUSHING the fence instead of moving the post that also broke the fence.
This happened because he didn’t want to redo his work to reposition the fence. Logic should’ve told him that he couldn’t push a fence where it could not move — something had to break. My father in-​law kept telling him to stop and he didn’t.
And why did he push the fence? Because he didn’t measure the space needed for my door even though my father in law told him to do so, until AFTER he concreted the post and ONLY after he was asked to see if the door fit. Then you learned that the door would not fit.
If he really knew what he was doing, he should’ve done the following:
o Before the start of work, have all the equipment for the job. He didn’t have a jackhammer and therefore digged the space for the post with his hands and a shovel. So he could not dig deep enough and place the post at least 18 inches deep. Instead you put it in only 12 inches. The post is unstable now.
o Before the start of work, measure the distance needed for the fence gate (especially when someone is asking you to)
o Before the start of work, check for dry rot on the fence (especially if he thought dry rot can affect his work so much). He didn’t.
o During work, when he found dry rot in the post, he should’ve checked other parts of the fence for dry rot. If he still believed it was dry rot that broke the fence, then he shouldn’t have pushed the fence. Why would you forcibly push on a fence with dry rot? What did he think would happen?
o During his work, when he saw the gap on my neighbor’s side, where the post was positioned, he should’ve deduced that the post was in the wrong place. Instead, he filled it in with concrete saying it would make the post stronger. WRONG.
o During he work, he should’ve remix a new batch of concrete for the post instead of RE-​USING the same old concrete that was semi-​dry and mixed with debris
o After his work, when he discovered he put the post in the wrong position, he should’ve just pulled it out and re-​positioned it. Instead he chose to push the fence!
o After work, double check your work. None of hinges holding up the gate were screwed in on my neighbors side.

I initially had some trouble contacting Pradeep. But when we scheduled and he arrived he was very thorough. I was very impressed by his work ethic. He was very courteous as well.
I had him replace some motion sensitive lights outside my house. He found some wiring problems with one of the lights which he identified and fixed at no extra charge. I would recommend him. I’m also asking him to bid other jobs inside the house.

We have been in the El Cerrito hills for a little more than a year. We have nothing but good experiences with Pradeep. In the course of a year, he rodent-​proofed our home, fixed our plumbing and found then corrected a gas leak. The rodent problem was so well fixed the exterminator said it was best he had seen. Really nice guy, but really shouldn’t be a handyman. He came out to replace our bathroom vanity and we wish we had never done this project. When he left, the sink was put on crooked and had sawdust plastered on to it because the plaster was still wet when he replaced the mirror. The mirror was also crooked and not centered and the walls are in terrible shape after removing the old vanity and mirror. Plaster was everywhere — on the faucet, on the mirror, and all over my floors throughout the house — I’m still picking it off of things. He also replaced some of the rusted pipes in our sink plumbing, and now it leaks (it didn’t before). Pretty much everything he touched is in worse shape than it was when he arrived, and a bathroom that once looked decent and presentable now looks like it needs a remodel.
Update: He came back to straighten things up, and the pipes under the sink no longer leak, but the vanity still looks horrible. Before he left, I told him that it still wasn’t on straight, and he told me it was because the wall wasn’t straight. After he left, I realized the wall wasn’t straight because he didn’t cut the baseboard to accommodate the larger vanity we were putting in. So the sink doesn’t fit right onto the vanity or flat against the wall. He filled in the gap with plaster, which is now cracking and allowing water to seep down into the back of the vanity and wall. We called again to ask him to fix it, but he never called back until we wrote this review (actually asking us to remove it, not to fix the problems). After his shotty work the first two visits, we aren’t even sure it would be worth it to ask him to come back a third time, though.
I added a second star for his efforts, not for workmanship.

Asked to install shower door in bathroom. There wasn’t really a problem until the end when I inspected the work and saw that the seal around the edges of the shower was not properly done. I pointed out the sections which looked like a problem, but he seemed to avoid fixing it by pointing at other places and sealing them instead. Sure enough the shower leaked. Called and had him visit again to fix, but there were still gaps (or so I’m told), my roommate inspected the job and ended up going to the hardware store to fix the problem himself.
In short, I wouldn’t hire this person again.
