Meet the Business Owner

Gary M.

Business Owner

I am Master Boatwright, with 50 years experience, and owner of Classic Craft, Sacramento’s oldest fiberglass and wood boat repair and building facility. In 1964 I began my boat building career building and repairing boats. Through my college years, I repaired a wide variety of boats and helped design and build custom boats of all sizes up to 55 feet, also did independent studies in naval architecture and earned two BA’s. Later with the help of my brother we produced 21′, 26′, and 30′ foot Luger boats. I worked for many boat repair and building shops including, Foster’s Marine, Newell’s Boats, The Boat House and Keaton Boats. I helped Jack Keaton build the award winning Keaton jet and inboard boats. In 1974 I started my own shop building and repairing boats. By 1980 I became involved in the restoration of classic mahogany runabouts and started competing in Concourse De Elegance shows and boats I have done have won numerous awards. I am equally adept in fiberglass and wood.
