My go to hair salon. Krista is a great stylist — nice, quick and very accommodating.

Bad service on lashes, not recommended. Will push you to have guy do your nails, not very good. The bathroom toilet dirty no sheet cover. Will take customer even no one is available Only good hair cuts, nails ok if the 2 girls will serve you. The owner is not very experience, just haircut.

Disappointed in their service, When I walked in there was nobody getting haircuts, and yet they had me sit and wait. They were too busy doing their own hair, and playing on a laptop. When I did get the haircut she was really rough, half of the time not even paying attention talk to another employee. Don’t know the girls name she’s a young Asian. Horrible horrible customer service. Will not be back!

I’ve been here couple of times and they do a great job on my cuts. Noticed they had new tile flooring. Looks really nice. They did a lot of interior design changes and it looks good lighting up the place. The staff there has grown to 4 now. I think 2 couples work there. Their very prompt and listening to their customers and not a bad place to get a cut for 10 bucks.

This place used to be the best place to get a haircut for a low price of $ 10(or $ 13 for layers). I used to be a regular customer here. I would only let Annie cut my hair. However, Annie and Ken(the barber who would cut my boyfriend’s hair) no longer work here and the new management couple is pretty bad.

Annie and one of her assistant cosmetologists/salonists runs this place, next door to Food Source. Let me first preamble that in business, your badge is what brings customers in(BMW, Mikunis) or the actual staff specifically are what bring people in(hard to think of an example other than what I’m about to say). In this case, Annie’s personality, a diminutive and ultra sweet Cantonese lady with great talent with scissors, makes all the difference. She IS the brand. You will always be greeted immediately. Annie almost has the voice of a small child, very fragile and delicate, but her command of English is strong, and she has the gift of gab to talk about anything. This is in contrast, obviously, to any sort of chain haircutteries who must pump out a volume to pay for all the waste occurring at the upper echelons of the company, but also the shitty magazines they have on subscription for you to read while you wait. Hairdressers at the chain level get nothing out of giving you your overpriced haircut since they make dirt for hourly pay, and as a customer, you sometimes don’t really get what you pay for. Mom and Pop is always better value for straightforward cuts. And cheaper. Yea, it’s cheap but not the cheapest: so with some places in Sacramento asking as little as $ 7 for a plain haircut, what are you getting from Annie to the tune of $ 10? A whole hell of a lot. She’s fast. She’s very sweet and won’t walk away from doing your hair when potential customers might think the wait will be too long. She’s aware of everyone’s need to get in, done and out; she assures new customers she won’t be long, but stays attentive to you. This is a magic skill in cosmetology and it takes a very well-honed sensitivity to pull it off. Disclaimer: what I am about to say is merely observational and as a guy, it’s not like I care if you think I’m metro for getting my eyebrows did! Glad that’s out of the way. But, anyway, all her instruments smell like a perfume room for a diva. Why do I care? Because, it’s very soothing to smell talcum powder after a firey waxing instead of alcohol. It’s very clear that Annie knows this about the salon experience. Oh, and the eyebrow service is only $ 8 and she’ll make you look as metro as you need to on a Thursday in Sacramento. Another thing I highly respect about her is that she doesn’t have«frequent customer» freebie cards, like buy 9 haircuts, get the 10th free. She knows she’s already giving you a great deal for $ 10 and would never debase her service to nought like that. Of course, at the same time, i withhold the 5th star because, really, how great would a free haircut from Annie be? I think I’d be too guilty to pay nothing for it, though.

I’ve seen this salon(next to Food Source) when I’ve gone grocery shopping but have never stopped in until today. Normally I go to Top Cuts but didn’t feel like driving over to Zinfandel. It’s a small neighborhood saloon, well lighted & clean. I was greeted immediately upon entering & stated I’d like a hair cut. I told the girl that my hair was starting to «flatten» out as it was getting too long on top & that I like the back bottom edge jaggered & not a perfect line. I took my glasses off so they wouldn’t be in the way of the scissors – so imagine my surprise when I heard the buzz of an electric clipper & she started«buzzing» along the back of my head. I thought to myself oh no, but at least it will grow back. She then set the clippers down & took up the scissors & started snipping away all over my head & I could see hair flying about but not a clear image of what was going on without my glasses. Next she used a straight razor to do some finishing touches. When I put my glasses back on & was handed the hand mirror to see my style up close, I was extremely pleased at the results! This was even better than Top Cuts(please see my review for them also). I will definitely go back to Cuts Plus next month & have Annie do my hair again. She is a wonder w/all three instruments of her trade.
