ONE on ONE Firearms

Today i took a private 2 hour handgun training class with Joe we went over all the necessary safety stuff first before we started the training which was an excellent experience.
Joe is a total professional at all times he is a awesome instructor and i can’t wait for my CCW class in February, i would highly recommend One on One Firearms.

Thank you Joe, Sean, & Fred for providing me the opportunity to learn how to properly handle my firearm and receive your expert CCW training. I had many choices in getting this training, and while I can’t speak to the other choices, I can say unequivocally I cannot imagine better training from anyone, anywhere else. I recently took a private 2 hour handgun safety class with Joe. He returned my original e-​mail within 24 hours, then called me the following day. Since I was planning to become a first time firearms owner, he explained that a private class with him would be best. We met the following Monday at the Sac Valley Shooting Range. He provided some verbal instruction & safety protocol. Most of it seemed like common sense, but in today’s world I totally understand basic precaution. He then spent about 45 mins showing me 3 different automatic pistols that he favors. He showed me how to load & unload each, as well as disassemble for cleaning etc. We then spent about an hour shooting & learning basic stance etc. I felt confident enough to purchase my own Glock 19 & plan on taking some more classes this month. I found Joe to be very friendly but direct. He obviously has decades of experience with firearms, but did not act condescending to a newbie. His teaching style shows his passion for firearms & he does not waste time that you are paying for.

Without a doubt the BEST there is. If you are serious about safety and lifelong learning — Joe is the guy for you. I cannot recommend him more highly. There is honestly nobody else I would go to. The hubby and I have taken several classes and, even though we both have been around guns our entire lives, we always learn something from Joe.

This course was fantastic. Joe, Sean and Fred are excellent instructors. Safety was the primary concern. The time they took to address the specific issues of each shooter was appreciated.

Solid, professional. A real business, not a gun-​nut hobbying for profit like quite a few others.
I would send my kids to One on One to shoot, no problem.

They are professionals they know exactly what they’re doing and I do highly recommend them I did two days each day 8 hours of training

I took private instruction with Joe in his CA CCW class and it was worth every penny. I’ve owned and handled firearms for most of my life, but can definitely say I came away a better shooter and a better gun owner. The classroom training is highly informative, but also a fun time… there was never a dull moment in all of the 16 hours. On the range, Joe was extremely focused on improving my techniques (and eliminating some bad habits). I will absolutely be back for more instruction beyond the 16 hours required by Sac County Sheriff for CCW. Thank you, Joe!

I just completed Defensive Shotgun Level-​1 with Joe Truesdale, and it was great! The class was conducted with safety in mind, it was well organized with well thought-​out drills, and it was a LOT of fun!
The course consisted of a series of well-​planned and executed drills that developed familiarity with the operation and manipulation of the shotgun. From correct shouldering of the arm, to «patterning» the gun, to extensive re-​loading practice, all the drills and exercises culminated in a new-​found capability that was confidence inspiring and rewarding.
I’ve done a fair amount of shooting in other disciplines, and taken shooting and gun training classes with a highly regarded nationally-​known figure — but as a complete novice to Shotguns I would have to say this experience and the knowledge delivered by Joe rates up there with the best.

I took the initial 16 hour CCW class, enjoyed the class immensely.
The renewal class was even better!!!

After taking my second class from Joe I believe it is time for a review. This man definitely hits the mark (pun intended).
I’ve taken a CCW class, and a handgun level 1 class from One on One Firearms, and each time I have come away with a huge amount of information and new skills.
I’ve been shooting recreation since I was a young boy so I have some basic knowledge of firearms. That being said, I know enough to know when someone is not being safe, or just doesnt know what they’re talking about. That being said, Joe has a GREAT training curriculum, and has an exceptional personal approach in his classes. I never felt bored, or that the class was too «basic», and I never felt like I was being rushed. I even learned new skills in the Basic Handgun 1 class, and have improved my shooting since the last class.
Joe has a talent for making the classes relaxed and fun. However, I NEVER felt that he was not 100% in control of the shooting environment and safety, or that he had anything less than the utmost respect for firearms and the seriousness of the skills he was teaching.
Watching his interaction with those students that had never shot a gun before showed that he is patient, and wants to build his students comfort level responsibly.
I highly recommend One on One Firearms whether you’ve never even held a firearm, or you’re an accomplished shooter.
Joe’s knowledge level provides for ALL skill levels, and I am excited to plan the next class.

Joe, is a great instructor and marksman. Today I completed my CCW qualification with a 16 hour class. I thought it was going to be supper long and drawn out although I was pleasantly surprised. Joe made it fun with numerous jokes, real life knowledge, and a tremendous amount of experience. I came in with little training and can safely say that I’m a much better marksman than I was in the beginning. I highly recommend Joe’s course, and will definitely be coming back for more. I have taken 3 classes, CCW, CCW renewal and Shotgun 1 Home Defense class’s from Joe at One On One Firearm instruction. To start, Joe is passionate about shooting sports and it truly shows in his classes. If you take a moment to look at his accolades, it is very impressive. Joe does a great job of incorporating his real life experiences into his classes, I highly recommend him.

My wife and I recently decided to obtain firearms and CCW permits. Having had NO previous experience with handguns and wanting to get good training, we asked our friends who carry whom to go to for training. Joe at One on One was highly recommended.
From our first contact with Joe at One on One we were impressed with his quick responses to our questions about his classes. He was eager to help us start off on the right foot with training and advice about carry guns.
The classroom experience was fun and informative. Joe and Sean are excellent teachers who, clearly, are passionate about what they do and are constantly learning the best tricks and techniques to improve not only their performance with firearms but the performance of their students. My wife and I feel that we learned all the law, handling techniques and situational awareness necessary to begin our journey into legal, law abiding citizens who execute their 2^nd Amendment right to possess firearms.
The educational and qualifying range experience was also amazing. My wife and I went from never holding a handgun before the class to performing at a level that would qualify us for our CCW permits. There was plenty of range time to test multiple guns for us so that we could decide which guns to purchase. We both look forward to returning to the range with Joe and Sean to complete the qualification with our own firearms in a few weeks. BEST OF ALL WE HAD FUN AND FELT SAFE.

I took my CCW with Joe, it was a one of the most educational and fun classes I ever took. Joe is a great guy to work with. lots of knowledge, and he knows his stuff. I recommend any one who owns a gun to get educated about their guns through one on one firearms.

I took my CCW class from Joe, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made for firearms training. Being a retired Army Reservist I have been around guns for a long time, Joe’s lessons covered many areas and linked them together to show how to best react and critically think given any situation. His presentations were clear, and easy to understand. When I had a question, he took the time to answer to my complete satisfaction. He make the class environment relaxed and interesting, more importantly, he kept our attention.
On the range his instructions and methods increased my speed and accuracy but maintained safety for all. His own credentials and skills as a marksman and shooter are impressive and he shared much of his secrets and experiences with us to improve our own marksmanship and qualify.
If you are considering getting your CCW permit or you want to increase your own skill level in the shooting sports, I very much recommend Joe and One on One Firearms. I plan of taking additional classes with Joe for just that reason.

Took a private handgun lesson with Sean and I have to say it was the best decision I have made regarding gun training. Being brand new to handguns Sean was able to not only help me feel comfortable and safe around them, but he also helped me to improve my aim, stance, etc. all within the course of one lesson… I highly recommend anyone take a course with him, especially a woman looking to be safer around firearms. I am hooked now, thanks again Sean!!! Maybe you’ll see me competing in the near future.

Took my CCW class from Joe for Placer County. Great guy, lots of good info, and good practical instruction at the range.
He also was more than happy to help craft a successful good cause statement which passed muster.

Took a firearms class this last weekend with Joe and Wes. Fantastic course. Attention to detail and safety was fantastic. I’ve grown up around firearms and shooting, and you can always learn something new. They’ve definitely cleaned up a few bad habits I’ve had over the years.
Highly recommended.
Down side? You’ll find it hard to decide if you want to sign up under Joe or Wes…
