Marquise Knox tore it up last night at Beale!!! Blues is alive and well in a new generation thanks to Marquise. Feel’in the Blues. When in St. Louis, Beale on Broadway is a MUST! New York City doesn’t have any blues offering like this!

This was everything I hoped to experience for a quick weekend in St Louis. Came here on a Saturday night for some live music, which did NOT disappoint. It was February so we watched a band perform from the indoor stage(apparantly there’s an outdoor stage?!) around 8pm-10pm for a $ 7 cover charge. Flawless music — great song picks, great energy, amazing vocals. Would’ve loved to stay for the second band that came on at 10:30, but we left to return to our hotel. We were able to get seats by the bar, but several people were standing. It got significantly more crowded around 10pm. I didn’t think this was a «dingy hole in the wall» at all — venue felt clean, intimate and warm.

Great music spot that draws a diverse crowd! It was a packed house the night we stopped in. The small menu even offers vegetarian options; we enjoyed the veggie burger with a variety of toppings. Despite stopping in a cold night, we stayed toasty on the covered patio with large heaters. Don’t miss it!

We were fortunate to see Kim Massey on Tuesday night. We hesitated about the $ 10 cover charge, but we’re so glad we went in. Doubtful such an ensemble of musicians were ever together. They covered suck numbers as Walk on By, Your Love, Twenty Five Miles, At Last and even Elton John and cool and the gang. It was great! There was even some dancing at the end.

Pro: Barring a natural disaster, B.O.B. is open 7 nights a week for some of the best live music in StL! The murky, «juke joint» feel of the place sets the mood for amazing blues and funk. The stage has been blessed by some incredible talents, to include Kim Massie, Jeremiah Johnson, Marquis Knox, and the late Eric«Guitar» Davis. If you want to keep the party going after a Cardinals game, this is your place. Con: During the winter months, the outdoor stage is closed; while the indoor stage works just fine, the area can get very congested if the crowd grows. Show early for a table. Be patient with your drink orders. Also, the $ 7-$ 10 cover can be a deterrent to some. Bottom Line: You don’t even have to be a blues fan to enjoy this place. If you, like most, enjoy the beat of a drum even slightly, B.O.B. will move you!

When someone describes to you, «I want a dingy, hole in the wall, dive with great people and good blues, this is the place. I love this place. It’s at the dirty sweet spot where it’s really great and inviting, but it scares away a lot of people too. Which is exactly what I look for in every bar actually. Don’t forget to ask for a delivery menu around 1 or 2am. I had an amazing pizza delivered to the bar, but I can’t remember who it was from. I’m sure I have a credit card receipt around here somewhere though…

BF and I had an awesome time here and glad we had this on our things to do list while visiting St. Louis. The patio was open and it was great weather. I very much enjoyed the live band the opener more than the main act. That had some young kid 18⁄19 years old and he was jamming! There was a cover charge but wasnt ridiculous. Drinks were cheap! One complaint was all the chain smokers that were near us. You can get some late night Ive been drinking food at the lil area they have set up in front of the establishment.

Perhaps good blues for STL. Its more like listening to your buddies at the frat house pretend to be musicians. Not worth the cover for the music.

I’ve been back in St. Louis for less than a day and I find saying«I miss» more often than not. St. Louis has soul. You know those memories back in Memphis when you are walking Beale and you hear amazing blues with a PBR from a pick up window? That’s the feel you get here. The band tonight made my soul happy. Truly happy. The fact they have my local microbrews on tap(Urban Chesnut) is even more amazing. Only reason to knock a star was I needed some grub. Street dog, BBQ, you name it. Give me some. That and the fact that I do not miss the fact I smell like a bar when I leave the place. Cigarette smoke in my hair? Ick. Not a fan of that.

Incredible. This is the best place in the city to come for live Blues music. The atmosphere is fun, the drinks are great. I am a big fan. I may be a little biased because a family member is the owner, but even if it wasn’t the case… it’s still the best blues bar in STL. You will absolutely have a great time!

We were in St. Louis on vacation recently and wanted to go somewhere local for some nightlife! Unilocaled entertainment and found Beale on Broadway, was a close walk from the downtown area of St. Louis, so we walked over and paid the cover and sat down, some others came up and asked if they could join us and from our perspective, the more the merrier! They had a lot of beers on Tap and in Bottles, the entertainment was very good! Would definitely try this place again if in St. Louis, was a fun night!

My bf is in town and he loves live music so I had to check this place out with him. We had an excellent time lastnite! The cover was $ 5 and worth every penny. Im glad it was monday because they let anyone come up on stage to perform so there was a great mix of styles and genres. The beers were reasonably priced($ 4.50avg) and the drink specials(bombs) were strong. The atmosphere is what made this place awesome… the musicians and other ppl watching the show were all very friendly and encouraging to the artists that braved the stage to share their talent. To top it off the place is open until 3am! Live blues 7 days a week means I will be back here often. This is a STL gem!

Great bar, great music, great atmosphere. If you’re a blues fan in St. Louis and you’ve never been here you’re missing out. One of the best patios for summertime in my opinions, you can hear the fireworks from the stadium when the Cards hit on out, and sometimes you can see the train roll by – gives you a great downtown blues-district vibe.

We continued the Birthday celebration for my lady this past Thursday night. We went to Beale On Broadway we entered the patio the cover was $ 10 dollars that night it was very reasonable. The Host was very kind I did not have cash on me so he said I could start a tab… Which was very convenient for the cover & our drinks. We sat down at the tables and the hung lights it was a scene out of N’ leans or Memphis on Beale Street itself. I felt like I was in the south when I step in the atmosphere. What can I not say about Kim Massie… She is a Must see! She not only sings blues but other genres of Music. If you are Downtown on a Tuesday or Thursday Night and want to hear just Great Music and singer with such stage presence you must check out Kim Massie! Kim Massie did song requests and She did a special song request for my Lady which made her very Happy and when that makes her Happy I am very Happy! The Staff was very friendly and kept the drinks coming!

Some things were awesome about this place, some things suck. We came on a Sunday eveining, I was surprised they charged women a cover. When I joked with the guy about it, he just got all mad and defensive and yelled«I thought you wanted equal rights»?? I was like ooookkkkk then. Whatever not a huge deal, went inside the set up was great. Good fun crowd. Totally what we were looking for in the«jazz/blues» experience. There was a band playing for a bit, which was great. Even when it started to rain it was still fun, most tables were covered by a big oning. Sucky thing was, one of the employees was lifting a cover off of the sound system and dumped a ton of water on my friend. I was like«what happened?» and he flipped on me and told me to mind my own business that he was talking to my friend. I was tripping at that reaction. Barely apologetic to my friend at all. I sought out the manager and told her about the situation. She actually handled it very well. She offered me drinks, but I turned them down because I wasn’t in it for that, I was just upset at the behaviour. When my friend went up to buy himself a drink, she kept an eye out and comped it. Very nice of her. She was great, but overall service here sucked, bad attitudes.

Hard to choose between the best live Blues bar in the city but this is right up there. During the summer there is nothing better than sitting outside at night and soak in the music of some Blues greats. We have stopped in here after Cardinals games and it is a great place to enjoy some drinks and meet other fans who enjoy the Blues. Whenever Marquise Knox is playing I always make an effort to get my butt there. He is young but you would never know it with his soulful chords and lyrics. If you want to check out the Blues in the Lou at its best, Beale should be at the top of your list!

When I first entered Beale On Broadway, I felt like I was instantly transported to New Orleans; not necessarily Beale Street, but more like that perfect little blues club you’d find tucked in an alley just off Beale Street. This cozy little place offers some of the best Blues Music you can find in St. Louis with melodies which will penetrate your bones and move your soul. This bar can easily be mistaken for just another baseball bar, but don’t be fooled by its location near the stadium. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great place to meet before a game, but it really comes alive late at night with some amazing local and national musicians. I was blown away by Eric«Guitar» Davis, from Chicago and of course St. Louis’ own Kim Massie is a real treat to see live. With live music seven nights a week… it just doesn’t get any better than this! The small intimate feel of this place allows you to sit within inches of the stage inside the building, or during the warmer months when they move to the outdoor stage. Don’t be surprised to pay a cover at the door. This will probably be the best $ 7 or so that you’ll have ever spent on live music. Oh, and the service is great! I’m officially addicted!

Kim Massie has the ability to take requests from the audience and make them sound like she had practiced them to just impress that customer. Her quick wit and well rehearsed sliding scale on what to tip depending on the song or genre… made my sarcastic self laugh. Her backup players showed the talent & diversity to keep up… or just make things up that made the song work. The improv after Kim Massie left the stage was jazz mixed with blues feel that made me think I will never hear that exact music again. No food, but food for your soul

I’m a self-proclaimed Kim Massie fan and can’t get enough of her endless line-up of blues music & hilarious sense of humor, so needless to say, I adore Beale on Broadway. Like my girl Jelena Z. said, you can’t get food here, but you really don’t need it… they have plenty of liquor to keep you occupied! When I spent a few years in Chicago I lived next to an awesome blues club that was literally open 24⁄7 and Beale on Broadway fills that void in my heart. As a city resident, it’s important to me to know that I can go somewhere on a Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday and now it’s going to be busy and lively, and this spot is exactly that. They have live music every night and also a «come as you are» attitude. No one’s judging here, just dancing and boozing & having an awesome time! It’s quite a scene after a Cards game… lots of ladies in little jerseys acting totally ridiculous on the dance floor. There’s also one or two guys you can tell are still dressed from work(button down and slacks) and they’re getting wild after being cooped up behind a computer all day. Kim puts on an awesome performance(every Tuesday & Thursday) and her band is really something… three out of four of them perform the entire set with their eyes closed. Seriously… go watch it and see for yourself. They’re either sleeping or having so much fun they have to close their eyes to calm themselves down. This place is real and downright cool and I love it. Nothing better then some blues & booze on a boring Tuesday night!

Live blues, 365 nights a year ’til 3am. Now that’s what I’m talking about! No, they don’t serve food. But you can get that across the street at the Broadway Oyster Bar(fantastic music acts over there as well). But after I’ve spent a few hours at the Oyster Bar, my friends and I like to change up the scene by heading to Beale. It’s a bit darker, a little grimier, and more intimate. The performers on this stage are top-notch, occupational musicians… if you’re looking for ‘real’ blues in St. Louis, you’ve come to the right venue. There’s always a cover(maybe $ 5 – 7) but you’re supporting St. Louis’ vibrant local music scene… here’s to keeping it alive! The bartenders are no-nonsense pros — drinks are strong and the beers are cold. And if you get the chance, visit during the warmer months so you can soak up the sparkle of the Beale on the patio. Cheers!
