History

Established in 1969.

California Hearing Center, San Carlos, is the satellite office for California Hearing Center in San Mateo. Patients are welcome to go to either location.

Dr. Darcy Benson, audiologist & owner, brings a dedication to the field of hearing care that stretches far beyond her practice. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders and a Doctorate degree in Audiology. She was the former Director of Audiology for the California Ear Institute in Palo Alto and conducted clinical research at ReSound Corp. in Redwood City. Dr. Benson has been a consultant for a variety of companies that carry out research on new technology & fitting systems. As a member of the board of directors of the California Academy of Audiology, she helped advocate for the needs of the hard of hearing. She has published research in professional journals and audiology textbooks. Originally from San Francisco, she grew up on the Peninsula, where she currently lives.
