I’ve used Leon and his Dad before and I just did again! Price is right with delivery and install.

Awesome and hard working gentleman. I have a great washer and dryer because of Leon. He takes pride in his work and his customers. Small business owner who cares. Go see Leon, he will fix your washer and dryer or you can buy them as well.

JUNK, JUNK, JUNK!
Leon sells nothing but junk. Overpriced junk with a 90 day warranty with no date on the receipt to prove when you bought it.
Went through 2 gas dryers with Leon.
The first one was running when we left the «shop» But wouldn’t run when we got home.
Took it back. Traded out for a much older piece of junk. Got it home and the felt gasket that keeps the heat in came off into the clothes on the very first load.
It finally died when it started to smoke.
All this in about 80 days time.
Spend the money and buy new.

I’ve dealt with Leon both out of his backyard and when he was doing business as Beck ‘n’ Call — good source for cheap, rehabbed basic quality apartment-​grade appliances. Don’t go here if you want something new or top of the line. Go here if you want something clean, in good working order, and cheap.

I’m a real estate agent and needed to get an operational stove for a closing for one of my listings. I called Leon and told him I needed an inexpensive but functional stove. He sent me pictures of a good condition stove, and was going to deliver it for $ 250 (same day!) and provide a 90 day warranty. Sure I had seen some cheaper on cragslist, but not having a truck really ruled out that option (plus most were in the far reaches of the county). So, I was totally on board with Leon’s $ 250 used stove, but when I told him that the only problem that I had with the existing stove was the broiler he said that he could fix that instead for $ 135, again with a 90 day warranty.
His guys came out and within minutes the repair was done, and I had saved $ 115! I had actually called another appliance repair person that I had used previously prior to calling Leon, but he said the repair would ‘probably’ be between $ 100 and $ 200 and if he came out without doing the repair I would still have to pay a $ 35 fee.
Reading the negative reviews I see that Leon is probably not the choice for a buyer who wants to go and see lots of options. But Leon is an honest guy with quick service — and if you are looking for a repair, or just a good working used appliance call him!

Leon’s appliances, also known as «Beck and Call Appliance» is a joke.
Seriously, he owns a 12 foot x 10 foot storage unit. Three homeless people are just hanging out smoking in front of his unit… oh wait — those are the «employees.»
Next you realize that there are only three or four appliances in his whole «shop.» Finally, I realized that he no longer even sells washers/​dryers.
Anyways, you’ll have much better luck with the general Craigslist public than with Leon’s shack. Stay away.

My girlfriend and I are new to San Diego, just got a house here and we were in dire need of a washer dryer and refrigerator. We found this add on Craigslist and showed up.
So for starters… Leon was very friendly, a pleasure to work with and very personable. He gave us a great deal deliivered the same day and installed for free. When we told him we were just moving, he offered to help us move lol. He genuinely wants you to be satisfied with the appliances you are purchasing. His crew did a great job with installation. We spoke on the phone after the purchase and install and once again he offered to help with whatever we needed.
If you are looking for used appliances at a low price and great service, we definitely recommend you talk to Leon.
We asked when it would be delivered and he responded with «Yesterday» haha. That very moment they were loaded on a truck and in our house. He has a sign that reads «Yes I want it today. I wanted it tomorrow, I would order it tomorrow»

Our home remodel had just been finished, but the final permit couldn’t be granted until our gas stove was hooked up. The stove gave up the ghost and the oven door fell off!!!
After the home remodel we didn’t have enough money for a new gas stove, so I looked up A.H. Leon’s Appliances, found a good-​quality gas stove with electronic ignition that works on all four burners, plus the oven, and the stove was delivered the next morning and installed, all for $ 179.00, which includes a three month warranty. I paid $ 20 extra for the gas connection hose. Mr. Leon and Waldo were pleasant and efficient, and they saved the day! Plus, Mr. Leon grew up in the same Linda Vista neighborhood that my sons have, and we shared some great memories! I give him five stars for quality and dependability!!!

They are honest and have great prices. I manage properties and have appliances in my home as well that I bought from them. Purchasing from Leon for 5 years never had a problem with there service.

I LOVE LEON that’s all I can say. He always takes great care of his customers. We have bought many appliances from him over the years and they have lasted a long time.

Leon is a great guy, he gave me a very good deal on a lightly used refrigerator for my new home! He delivered and set it up all for free. I’m pretty sure the address on Unilocal is wrong so you will have to give him a call for directions to his new location.

Great experience! Free delivery and installation are a huge plus.

Stay away from this «business»! I had the worst customer service experience today while excepting their delivery.
First of all, there is no actual shop, their appliances are staying outdoor in somebody’s yard. When we arrived to look at their inventory, the address was not correct and we called their phone number and apparently they move across street to somebody’s garage and yard. We tried to look at the washer and dryer, but there was no light in garage and the person who «worked» there didn’t have a flush light. My husband used the light on his phone to look at the appliances. I was terrified and wanted to leave any second. The area is pretty scary.
Leon was actually very nice and my husband liked him, although I thought it was crazy, my hubby decided to give Leon some business. Next time we arrived during sunlight to check on workability of appliances. They had washer and dryer we needed, but no refrigerator. Leon promised to get refrigerator in a couple days and we gave him $ 200.00 check for deposit. Three days later Leon called and said he got the fridge but ice maker was broken, we said we needed it to work. He said he’ll fixed it. The day after we called Leon and he said that everything is fixed and he can deliver it today or tomorrow. He also asked how would we pay him the balance of $ 450.00, my husband said he write him a check. Leon said he doesn’t like check, he wants cash, my husband said he does only check. Leon said «fine».
The delivery appointment was set up for 5 pm. While I was on my way to accept the delivery, Leon called and said they can’t make it due to some kind of light on their car. He said they can make it at 9 am the next day. I turned around. I got there next morning at 9 am, nobody was there. 9:30 am — no Leon, called him, he said that they just left at 9 am. They finally arrived at 10:20 am. He sent 2 guys (one black and one Latino who didn’t speak much English).
The installation started with washer and dryer in garage. They couldn’t find the switch for water to turn it off, and I unfortunately didn’t know either. Nobody was available who knew about the switch at that second. They tried to hooked it up and flooded the entire garage. After couple minutes of running water the washer was connected.
The refrigerator installation went even worse. Black guy asked the balance before I checked on appliances. I said I need it to see if they work or not. After discovering that ice-​maker didn’t work, the guy said that he couldn’t connect the water because we had different water line tube that doesn’t fit to their refrigerator. I said I need it to work. He promised me that refrigerator is working and nothing is wrong with it. I said I need to see if it is working. That was the deal. He said that my husband can buy a different switch and hook it up. I said my husband is not a handyman, and this why we paid for included installation. I said you should get the switch and fixed it. He tried to intimidate me, he yelled that he is going to take refrigerator back and asked my husband’s phone. My husband was at work at the meeting and could not respond neither me or him. Leon was not available for me either. While this crazy guy screamed at somebody on the phone (probably Leon) I reached my head on the back of refrigerator and found out that the water tube on their refrigerator was broken. While he tried to blame me for having the wrong end for water line, his water tube on refrigerator was absolutely crushed and didn’t connected. I took the picture of broken part. I accused them about their lies, the black guy run out the house and started to yell on somebody on the phone. Latino guy was walking around shaking his head and saying something about problems. Instead of fixing the broken part that couldn’t be more than $ 20.00 they tried to lie me about the switch at my end. Then finally my husband called me back and talked to Leon. Leon said that we such bad customers because we didn’t want to give him cash and check is not good enough for him and he doesn’t trust us, because we try to f**ked him up. Although we gave him $ 200.00 check for deposit and he had no problem at the beginning of the deal and had no problem to cashed it out. Not sure exactly how the conversation went after because my husband doesn’t want to talked about them anymore and wants me to forget about this horrible experience. Anyway, I paid the remaining $ 150.00 for washer and dryer in CASH (fortunately I had just enough) due to balance was not that big anymore, and they took their NOT WORKING REFRIGERATOR back.
I will never do any business like that again. If you care for your family do not do business with these guys. You never know who is going to show up in front of your door with delivery.

I needed a fridge and didn’t have much to spend. I got a much better fridge than I could have imagined for just 300. Leon is awesome and so is his delivery crew. Highly recommend. It’s been months and I couldnt be hpapier with my fridge!

If you’re a rental property owner and want to save a few hundred bucks by going with refurbished appliances over new ones, give Leon a call.
The shop may not be the fanciest place on earth but Leon has been around for a long time (14+ years) and will take good care of you!

I needed a used washer for a rental unit. Like most people, I didn’t want to spend a lot but wanted something that would be nice for the renters. Leon — who is super nice btw — had just what I needed at a price that was exactly what I needed… affordable! My husband and I went to Leon’s on a Sunday afternoon and the washer was delivered and hooked up the next morning for $ 149! That is a true deal! Leon will be my go-​to guy for used appliances in the future, I definitely recommend him!

i bought a dryer from leon, the old bait and switch!!!
asked him to show me that it works, he said he has no power at his shop.
dryer was broke.
after 3 weeks he finally brought a second dryer that was broke also!!!
refuses to give me back my money… but says he will…
this lied to me from the very first minute i met him.
dishonest & und trustworthy…
please, please, please take your $$$$ somewere else
i have already replaced the dryer w/​another, now still wating for him to pick up the dryer and give me and my wife back our money!!!

my experience was good — i needed a new stackable washer and dryer — Leon had a couple refurbished ones to choose from at very fair prices compared to others on Craigslist — they set it up, took away the old one, all with very quick turn around — good attitudes and customer service– i got the feeling of being treated like a neighbor, like small town business type of vibe — Barry in Golden HIll

I purchased a nice side x side newer fridge a year ago. Leon promised a warranty and would pick it up if it ever broke. Sure enough, the compressor broke within 9 months. He came and picked it up and promised to fix it. He lead me on for three months telling me how broke he was and that he’d eventually fix it. Finally after several phone calls, he admitted he had dumped it. I had to go and buy another fridge at my expense. I would stay clear of Leon and don’t believe a word he says!

I called Saturday around 3:30 and by 5pm my washer/​dryer was installed. Ivan delievered it and was GREAT. Nice, polite and friendly. Explained the washer/​dryer and tips to making it last, it is used after all. Even tested the dryer and water to show me it was working before he left.
Best part was it was affordable and came with an warranty! Can’t get this on craigslist…
