I’ve been using Anita’s Housekeeping for a solid 10 years. I’ve always been very pleased with scheduling, quick availability, on time service, and affordable pricing. You can have the service use your own products, or pay a few extra bucks for them to provide their own. You can pay cash or credit, be home or away. The busier I get and the more I travel, taking hours each week to clean just isn’t on my priority list. So Anita’s Housekeeping continues to be my go to for a great, clean result.

Some housekeepers are a lot better than others, but I really like the convenience of Anita’s. If I like someone then I ask to be on their weekly schedule for as long as they work with them. If I don’t like someone then Anita’s will send me someone different to try. Oh, and they track negative reviews for each housekeeper in case it’s a trend. My favorite part is that I never have to fire anyone or have any uncomfortable conversations.
The weekly rates are very reasonable and it allows me to spend my free time enjoying my family and friends, and I am never embarrassed to have company stop by.

Poor job considering there were 2 cleaners. It was a last minute empty house cleaning cause my landlord didn’t have the place cleaned and we were painting the next day. I asked for 3 hours of work as didn’t want to spend over $ 100 and as quoted 3 hours would’ve been $ 90. They only needed to do the kitchen and two bathrooms. But they brought a team in and worked 2.5 hours and charged a total of 5 cause of the two working. That extra half hour could’ve at least cleaned everything they missed. Cabinets in kitchen had trash in them still, dirty inside, master bathroom had dirt in vanity, hair on walls, just nasty. We’ve had a team do our 2 Br apartment and do a complete job and do a wonderful job. I guess that’s why they were available since nobody wants to use them.

I needed a same-​day clean and was able to find someone through Anita’s that was available. Ruth came over and did an amazing job on our house. She was very thorough and detail-​oriented. I will absolutely ask for Ruth again in the future, she was nice to our dog too so I consider her a gem.

I use Anita’s house keepers frequently. The service is very affordable and convenient.
I do not want to book a regular cleaning service with one person because my schedule changes, we go out of town, the house doesn’t need it, or sometimes it really does. I am able to call Anita’s a day or two in advance and get someone to come when I need it.
I have had a variety of cleaning people come thru my house. Every person has been kind, polite, and hard working. I have not had many complaints, but when I do, there is a 3^rd party to call. They will give you an hour free toward your next service if you have an issue.
Overall, this is an excellent service!

What a mess!
We tested out Anita’s Housekeeping and overall it was a pretty terrible experience. Terry was our cleaning lady. She was supposed to stay for 3 – 5 hours and do a «deep clean.» She left after 3 hours stating that she had another appointment. She didn’t even make it to the kitchen! The floors, toilets, and surfaces weren’t as clean as when I clean them! I’m definitely not a neat freak, so this was incredibly disappointing. We were referred to this service and thought we’d become a long term customer. Unfortunately the only successfully cleaning was vacuuming the floors… which anyone can do themselves.
The only nice thing that happened is that she gave us 1 free hour off our next purchase. We aren’t planning on utilizing their services again.

Unfortunately, they did not keep their appointment with us. We had scheduled a cleaning and got a call 15 mins before saying the maid was having car trouble. I understand that things come up out of the ordinary but I think more could have been done to accommodate us. The girl was nice enough on the phone but didn’t offer any kind of compensation for missing the appointment other than to reschedule. We had booked it because we were having guests come over so a later date was not possible. I will not try and use them again as it seemed rather unprofessional to leave a client in a difficult situation. I can’t comment on the actual service since it never occurred.

We still really need help around the house and have decided to give Anita’s another chance. We decided to try someone new. So far, even with extra time, the whole house cleaning has not been completed from top to bottom, but, for the price, they do an A-​ok job and I’m still happy to have the help.
I’ve increased my rating, due to a change I’ve noticed in the level of customer service by phone. I do get the feeling they are trying to work with me and genuinely concerned about finding a good fit!

It’s a gamble.
Tried using them many times, and the customer service when things are less than stellar is great. But, too often whomever they sent, well… They sucked. If I am paying for a service I want to know it will be done and done correctly. Too much of a gamble, here. They’re very nice, but for all the trouble, I might as well clean the house myself.

One word– Awesome!
I have used multiple cleaning services in San Diego and Anitas is by far the best! They are everything you want in a housecleaning service– reliable, affordable, and leave the place looking spotless. They continually surprise me with the level of service– everything from finishing laundry to loading the dishwasher, cleaning windows when asked, and changing sheets. I am so glad a friend recommended Anitas to me and have now signed up for service every two weeks. It’s been such a welcome change to find a housecleaner who just «gets it» and cleans the way you would if you had time.

I got gift certificates for 3 sessions with Anita’s Housekeeping and my cleaning lady, Isela, was absolutely top notch! She went above and beyond every time by doing the most simple and nice things, like making a flower out of my tissue, writing ‘thank you” notes after each session, and even leaving me a moving out/​Christmas present with my last session with her. After my gift certificates were used up, I used Isela for several more times and it made me sad to have to move into a smaller residence where I will no longer need her. The prices for the services are outstanding too. I absolutely recommend Anita’s!

Totally Satisfied!
There isn’t a better feeling then when a business takes care of their clients. That is what Anita’s did with me. They called me to see how satisfied i was with their service and i was honest. They said they would like to send someone out to make it right and I accepted.
Edith came to my house on a Monday and off the bat she was friendly. She doesn’t speak very well English but that wasn’t a problem because i speak Spanish. I told her what I wanted done which was the same thing I had the previously cleaning lady do. She brought her cleaning supplies and went to work. I chilled in my room and played Xbox 360 and in two hours she advised me that she was done. All I can say is my place looked spotless. I mean SPOTLESS!!! The kitchen was magnificent. She did all the dishes cleaned the stove, sink inside the refrigerator and counters. She got down on her hands and knees and scrubbed the floor. Let me tell you that floor was so clean you can literally eat off of it. The bathroom was sparkling from how clean it was.
She managed to clean the kitchen, living room, and bathroom in 2 hours. She was friendly and very professional. She let me know other services they offer if I ever needed them. Awesome job to Anita’s for matching us with Edith. I recommended my friend to Anita’s and to ask for Edith. I didn’t even tell my friend that she came over and he knocked on my bedroom door and said if I hired someone because he was loving the cleaning job.

Needed a move out cleaning done last minute notice, the lady on the phone was very nice and friendly and explained things very well. We set up a time for the next day for Liz to come in. Liz came 15 minutes early and was very nice and sweet. We have a 2 bedroom/​2 bath apartment around 1100 sq ft, it’s not too big. But it took a little over 4 hours to finish cleaning. I was very satisfied with the outcome. Because we ran out of time she wasn’t able to finish some of the things but I was okay with doing it on my own. She’s a hard worker and very proud of her work. Thanks Liz! Please ask for Liz if you plan on using this service!

I have used Anita’s for about 5 years. I have never had any problems. I regularly leave them in the house alone while we run around town. Nothing has ever been stolen. Occasionally, we will get a slower housekeeper. It happens. However, for the most part, most of the housekeepers are very good.
Their price is very reasonable, $ 72 for 4 hours if you have your own supplies, a few bucks more if they have to bring their own.

We use Anita’s to clean our vacation rental unit. They always do a fantastic job. The team that comes in is trusthworthy and thorough. I also very much appreciate that they send the same crew every time, so I don’t have to worry that something will be forgotten. Overall, a very good choice.

We had a very bad experience with this service and do not recommend it at all, a total waste of my hard earned money. We selected them for a move out cleaning, because we just didn’t have the time. It was two people (maybe a husband and wife team). I told them to just do the basics, to make the place look presentable (i.e. get all the major spots on the floor, the blinds, stuff the landlord cares about). I was running in and out of the house and noticed that every time I came by they were still working on the back bedroom, including detailing the shower. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, and didn’t say anything (like move on don’t spend all your time back here). When there time was up they told me they didn’t have time to get to the insides of the kitchen cabinets, which I never told them to do in the first place, because in her words «it is too hard.» Really? You are a cleaning lady, and something is too hard? I told her fine, and they packed up and left. This was probably my mistake, because I went through after words and started noticing all the larger spots on the walls and floors that were not done, and the blinds and windowsills that were no where near clean. I called back and told them I was very dissatisfied with the work, and they proceeded to tell me that I ok’d the clean (I think they mistook my «Ok» after she told me about the cabinets). They again proceeded to lie about the clean and claimed I had done a thorough walk thru with them before they left, which was a lie. After that they started making claims that it was the worst house they had ever seen, and that they couldn’t get enough done in the six hours they were there (Again was a lie, my home had the typical dirty floors and walls of a house rented for 4.5 years). In the end it was my word against theirs and they threw me a bone and gave me a «free» hour so charging me $ 130 rather then $ 156. I still had to go back to the house and clean up all the stuff they missed. I still felt ripped off and if I had to do it all over again, I would either have checked Unilocal for a better service or just done the work myself. I think the big issue that these cleaners just didn’t «GET» is that when someone moves out, you should concentrate more on the big obvious stuff. I really don’t need you do detail behind the toilets, and under the bathroom sinks, and then ignore the floors… which they did. In the end I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE IN A MILLION YEARS.

Probably the best V-​day present I could ever give myself was the gift of a clean apartment and Anita’s was just the service to do so. She was very timely, thorough, and for $ 60 for the whole shebang it sure beat dropping that on a dinner that people normally spend it on on the 14^th of Feb.
I definitely see myself developing a lasting relationship with Anita’s :-).

They have special category for move-​in/​out cleaning. It’s $ 25/​hour. They made my blinds look new, cleaned the baseboards, grout lines of tiles, and pretty much anything that air touches.
Of course my super @n@L apt manager found something to complain about. A 1″ long strand of cobweb that was dangling on the ceiling and some water stains that’s pretty impossible to remove. I would call that wear and tear, @$$H0L3. He wanted me to call the girls back to remove the cobweb. –_​_​_​–
Save yourself some time and backache and get your place cleaned by them. I did, and I’m leaving the apt cleaner than when I moved in.

Nope, nope nope… I unfortunately can not give anymore than one star… I was so disappointed. I thought I had finally found a good housekeeping company and one with good prices. The prices are good, but the quality of work was not at all. It was difficult to make an appointment. The woman was very nice but that only goes so far. The two housekeepers that were sent out were terrible. You could tell that one of the woman did NOT want to be cleaning houses and the other seemed to at least have a good work ethic but all in all, it was the worst cleaning job we have ever had! And we suspect one of them stole a little bit of money. While we can’t prove it and we didn’t call anyone out on it, it was the only thing that made sense as to where the cash could have gone and some other reasons which I won’t go into here. It was just a bad experience all around.

We use Anita’s Housekeeping referral service. The person they recommended, and who we love, is Lucy. Tomorrow will be her third time cleaning our place. The charges for having your own professional maid (versus an agency who hire multiple people to come in to clean at a time) is $ 17/​hour if you supply the cleaning supplies or $ 19/​hour if the maid brings her supplies. There is a 3 hour minimum, so you’ll be paying at least $ 51 for your maid to clean your place. Lucy was able to clean every room in the house, do the dishes, sweep/​vacuum everything including the couches, change the linens, wash/​dry the linens and towels, clean the bathrooms, etc all in 3 hours. I couldn’t be any happier with a maid. I was completely floored when she did the laundry on her own (which could be unique to Lucy). I don’t have any experience with the agencies, but I haven’t heard any good reviews yet. I think by having your own personal maid who comes regularly (Lucy comes every 2 weeks) there is more accountability; plus they are their own business and care about making their clients happy.
Lucy specifically works our area… and they have many different maids specific to areas around San Diego. They should be able to recommend 2 or 3 housekeepers… they recommended newer maids to me at first (1−2yrs exp with them), but after asking who else they had that worked my area, they recommended Lucy who had been with them for 6 years. Lucy even lets our dog out of her crate and puts her back in while she is there. I think that’s pretty cool.
