If you are considering having Bumper 2 Bumper paint your car, you owe it to yourself to read this review in its entirety. Without a doubt one of the worst business transactions I have ever endured.
Dropped off my car on February 24^th to paint and refinish my car with bad fractured clear coat issues. Was initially told by Tommy the job would last 5 days and was then told by Memo it would be 9 days. Car was «finished» 3 weeks later with Memo stating the hood and roof had dullness issues. Upon arrival to get my car it was clear the car was not properly prepped and stripped prior to painting. The same fractures in the same areas were apparent with a coat of paint on top of them. Was told by Memo the paint had to cure for 3 weeks and then it would be wet sanded and buffed. After wet sanding and buffing a second time, Memo decided to repaint it after all and said they put a sealer on the hood and roof in an attempt to cover the fractures instead of properly stripping it. Had to wait another 2 weeks to bring it in for wet sanding and buffing a third time. When I picked up my car it was evident we had another problem. Clusters of white spots appeared below the surface all over the hood. Brought it back AGAIN, and was told it had to be repainted again. After the third repainting, the finish was worse than the first time, with Memo saying it would have to be wet sanded and buffed a FOURTH time. So, after the fourth wet sand and buff I found it glossier than the first time and no white spots, but the same original fractures were still visible especially on a sunny day. I confronted Memo with the fact that this was still not acceptable and he said I was being unreasonable and that the car was perfect. I guess his idea of perfect is a lot different than mine. I told him I wanted at least $ 500 refunded to me to compensate for the substandard paint job I received. We settled on $ 350 and he voided the lifetime warranty on my paint job. Pretty shabby business tactics. This entire process has lasted until today which is June 11^th. February 24^th to June 11^th. Unacceptable by any stretch of the imagination.
Bottom line is this: if you have a door ding, a scratch on your bumper or a minor fender bender, this may be a good option for you. I was a nobody with a 15 year old car that kept getting pushed aside to finish corporate client jobs and large insurance claim jobs. After I complained about how long it was originally taking to finish my car, they rushed the job, failing to properly strip the old finish, and then had to scramble to cover up shabby work. Inspect my photos, they do not lie.

Had a «family accident» between my BMW and my wife’s car that wasn’t bad enough to use insurance, so I started looking around for a good and reasonable place. Carmax recommended this place and another place that was somewhere in Canada, so I checked these guys first, then Penske a few blocks away (recommended by BMW dealer).
The Penske plan (and appropriate estimate) was to fix the door dent by rebuilding the car from scratch. The quote was funny — I almost thought they just didn’t want to deal with it, so I got a quote to chase me away. So…
Went over to B2B, and spoke with Memo. He came up with a quote that, while not «free», was reasonable, so I gave them the job. Picked it up a few days later and was extremely pleased by the work. Made the cost seem very reasonable after all.
Would definitely use these guys again, and really really appreciated the good communication with B2B. They always picked up the phone, which is a bit rare these days.

decent place, nice staff. Not cheap but on the low end in the area. Not sure when Convoy has become so expensive.
You can trust they will do a good job and a more, recommend you anything else you need done.
I was a bit bummed with their price but it won’t stop me from getting the first quote from them next time.

I accidentally decimated my passenger door in the parking lot against a short, yellow barrier pole (long, embarrassing story), and called my insurance company for a claim. I went with Bumper 2 Bumper because they were in my area, and had great reviews. I’m very glad I went there. Great body work, excellent work ethic, and very outgoing staff. The owner, Memo, si s so easy to deal with. After perfectly paint matching my door to a 10 year old car he threw in a lot of extras: the entire interior and exterior was detailed, buffed, waxed vacuumed, and shampooed. The headlights were originally fogged completely over and now they look brand new! On top of all that, the same day I wrecked my door a semi kicked a rock right into my windshield. He did the install on that with a factory windshield below cost! Even Safelite and other local companies wouldn’t come near his price!
Memo worked with my schedule, did an incredible job, and all around runs a business like it should be. Professional, courteous, excellent work ethic, and awesome customer service!

Stopped in 7jan for an estimate on fixing my front bumper and hood. Didn’t get a quote, just told to bring the car in. Dropped my cat off 11jan under the impression that it would be a few days, 1 week at the most. He didn’t give me a quote or any paperwork when I dropped my car off. I spoke with memo 20jan and he said «normally we require half down so we can buy the parts» but I was out training that week so I wasn’t able to get him the «required payment» when I got home from training I stopped by on 26jan to pay my balance in full. My car didn’t look like it had been touched since I dropped it off on the 11^th. I stopped by on the 28^th to see how things were coming along. Having been there for almost three weeks I would have thought they’d be closer to a completed project. I was weong. I still have no bumper, and my hood is buffed. I received a phone call today stating it’ll cost me another $ 200 on top of the $ 2550, I’ve already paid to fix my light. Now I can’t be positive because I font know cars, but I’m almost positive when I discusses fixing my car with him, we talked about fixing the front completely. But now there’s an additional charge? Although I do not blame them completely because I messed up 8n trusting that they would do right by me and not take advantage of my ignorance. I am not impressed with the service I recieved, I am scheduled to pick up my car this evening 29jan.

The clear coat on the hood of my honda ridgeline failed making me start to hate the truck I love.
I popped in and got a very fair estimate and scheduled the work. Memo also sold me on spending another buck fifty to have them do a color buff of the entire truck, really glad I did!!! The hood looks New and the rest buffed and blended out 99% off other songs and scratches. Work was done ahead of schedule
AND BONUS THEY BUFFED OUT MY CLOUDY HEADLIGHT LENSES… NO CHARGE.

Got in a fender bender and jacked up the right side of my car. Took it to a couple places but this was by far the best bang for my buck. Chapprone Auto gave me a quote ($ 1700) but suggested I try Bumper Doc or Bumper 2 Bumper since my car was a piece of crap from 2001. I was looking for a quick and cheap cosmetic fix and proceeded to Bumper Doc. They quoted me a little over a grand so I also got a quote from Bumper 2 bumper. They got it down to a little over $ 700. They did great work and, while not perfect, it was exactly what I needed. I was very please with the experience and would go again. Can’t beat that price.
On the downside I’m pretty sure they stole the change I had in the center console. Not cool but it was only like 10 bucks so I’m not sweating it. I ended up totaling the car 48 hours later but they were nice enough to refund the fog lamp and wheel guard that they had ordered but had not installed yet.

I just spent everything I had to my name on a pretty clean Acura TL and less than a month of owning it disaster struck. I had an extremely bad scratch and white marks near the back right tire and it really ruined the entire look of the car.
Tommy was the coolest and most helpful guy. He really went the extra mile to make things right. These guys give you their personal numbers so you can communicate with them at all times and they really do care. I feel like I not only hit the jack pot for the best car shop in San Diego but also made some new friends as well.
These guys not only fit me into their schedule on short notice, they made the car look better than it did before the accident and charged me $ 50! Out the door. They were so kind and genuinely good people. I honestly have never written a review but I assumed it was going to cost hundreds if not a thousand plus dollars to fix and these guys just saved the day! Quick, efficient and reasonable. My fiancée scratched my bumper along a pillar in Horton Plaza. He called a friend who owns a shop off Convoy and was referred to B2B. He took my car in on Tuesday and I got my car back the following day — literally within 24 hours. They close at 530p and I picked up my car quickly and was on my way.
They did a fantastic job removing the scratches from my front bumper and color matched my car. $ 300 and my bumper was as good as new!
Looks like they’re a fan of Unilocal since the lady mentioned Unilocal while we were there. Little does she know who actually came into the shop ;)
I checked into the business as I was leaving and a check in offer came up. WHAT?! Service was a bit on the slow side, so my check in didn’t work until as I was leaving the parking lot. Bummer, as they had a 5% deal. Could have save $ 15! Hmmm, the least they could have done was tell us…
Oh well… Great service, personable and friendly. I’d come back if I get into another fender bender!

My dad was a mechanic, so when I look for someone to take care of my car I want someone that has the integrity my dad did. This shop did a FANTASTIC job fixing my car! The entire passenger side was redone flawlessly, and the detail when I picked it up today was better than I’ve paid for in years!!!

I’m lazy and I never review places, even places I go to all the time. However, these guys did more than they had to, and went well out of their way to hook it up for me, so I’m going to drop them a review.
I literally just saw this place on the way home from ramen one day and stopped by. I had an accident from last semester that I still needed the body work on, and was like, hey, might as well. I spoke with a dude named Memo, and he had a really friendly vibe, and laid out some pricing options that sounded good. Eventually, when I decided to get my service done here, my contact was a guy named Tommy, he turned out to be a really great guy as well. These guys are really nice, and they’ll be straight with you and help you out. I definitely got the vibe that they were on my side, and the work they did was excellent.
Bottom line: nice dudes, no BS, good prices, they will help you out. They’re also right next to a fuckton of boba tea places, which is dope.

A taxi reversed into my car in San Francisco. I went to get an estimate from Allstate. Then jumped over to Bumper2bumper right down the street and they were able to take me in right then and there.
Not only are these guys flexible in scheduling you in but they do great work too. They restored my ’03 Audi A4 to its former glory. Their attention to detail separates them from the rest of the pack. I really do appreciate you guys making this whole debacle somewhat easy on me. Thanks guys.

Getting into a fender bender is no fun, especially when you are paying for the repair out of pocket. Luckily, my experience from Bumper2Bumper exceeded my expectations and made it a little less painful. I worked with Tommy who was very approachable and easy to work with. They did a great job with the bumper on on my 2011 BMW. It was done in a very reasonable time (2 days) for a fair price. They worked with Hertz to get me a cheap rental while my car was under repair. Then they topped it off by detailing the whole car inside and out.
There are many body shops out there to choose from, and I am very glad I picked these guys.

Did not do what they said would be done. Paint did not match. Then had to drive back and drop car off again. Nice guys just a very poor job. Would not recommend.

Excellent work at a very reasonable price! I would recommend anyone to get their car repaired here. Tommy, the manager, was terrific and always patiently answered my questions. They worked with me and have earned my repeat business. They also provided paintless dent repair at a great price since I had other work done and arranged for a rental car at a rock-​bottom price. My Highlander hasn’t looked this good in years.
Simply put, these guys did a great job that was affordable. While I hope never to need auto body work, I know I have a place that will take good care of me should I need it again.

Writing to share a great experience at Bumper 2 Bumper. Met the owner Memo, spoke about my goals for a older classic chevy. Work involved match painting, a little rust repair, some welding of body panel holes, fairly broad scope. Memo and I discussed the work and he gave me the quote, off to the races.
Couple key points here.
Memo is great at communicating.
Fantastic customer relations. Always the gentleman.
Shop has a family feel to it. Wife and kids often around.
Shop did far more work than initially contracted. Way beyond my expectation.
My car is now essentially done and restored. We added to the scope of work during the repair but each time the work was done right, really well done. Fair pricing. The whole nine yards. Great experience.
I will be taking other cars in for work. Shop is busy with a lot of dealership repairs but they also do personal repair work and custom work. I am sold!

This is a long over due review. I had my front bumper repainted back in April or May ’13 I believe. After the previous owner did a crappy job and the paint on the bumper started chipping away. I found Bumper 2 Bumper on Unilocal.Seeing that they had only around 10 overall reviews, majority 5 stars. But they have the best Unilocal deal around. So I decided to go with them. Plus they were close to my work.
I got an online quote by sending pictures of the damage thru their website. Dave was awesome, he helped a lot and answered all my questions and got back to me quick. He gave me a great price and was able to lower it since I would be taking off the bumper myself and bringing it in. They did a perfect job on the color match. Should have check it thoroughly before leaving with the bumper. When I got home it felt really rough on most of the bumper. It was over spray from the clear coat. But when I contacted Dave, he was more than happy to fix it. They buffed it out. Now my car looks awesome. Thanks.

I had dented my driver side fender pretty good pulling out of an under ground parking lot hitting a post. It was messed up pretty bad. At first I wanted to just buy a pre-​painted fender but I knew the color would be off compared to the hood and door. I bought a fender and brought it to them and not only did they gave me a very nice competitive price, but they installed it nice with no gap issues and the paint was perfect and they blended into the door and hood perfectly. It feels like a brand new car.
In addition, my rear bumper was scratched really bad from some jerk driving on the wrong side in a parking lot super fast as I was pulling out. And I also let my mom borrow the car and she backed into a pole scraping near the rear tail light. These guys fixed it all of these issues all at once and in a reasonable amount of time-​everything looks brand new!
The value of knowing someone is going to do it right far exceeds the value in doing something cheap. Well, these guys did it right and I was never happier to compensate these guys for the work they did and the value that I get in feeling like I am in a brand new car again!

When my Mazda 3 hatchback was damaged in a collision with a drunk driver, I was referred to Bumper 2 Bumper by an acquaintance of mine.
Skeptical of most body shops and mechanics I went in with doubts.
Memo looked over the car with me and told me that he was already in contact with the insurance company. He assured me that I would be taken care of. Memo even offered up his car so that I could get a ride to the car rental place.
Throughout the week David was in constant contact with me. If I had a question or if he needed approval to move forward on something he would text or call me.
The bodywork was completed extremely fast. I wasn’t able to pick up my car during the week because of my work schedule but David was extremely helpful and had someone meet me at the shop on a saturday when they were closed. My car had been sitting in the shop for a few days and got pretty dusty. They didn’t want me to leave with a dusty car so they did a quick detail job to make sure my car looked 100% before leaving. I am a picky person, but after looking over the car and seeing the immaculate body and paint work I was sold. These guys are amazing. My car looks better than when I bought in used.
I have already referred my friends and my brother to the shop to get body work done. I’m a customer for life now. I wont take my car anywhere else for paint and body work.

Outstanding place for body /​paint work.
I wanted a high quality complete re-​paint job on my 2001 Tacoma which was looking pretty worn after several years in the sun. I got several estimates from the quality paint shops in town and was blown away by insanely high prices. I was about to give up, and was not going go with a cheap paint job.
Then I heard about Bumper 2 Bumper and spoke to Memo who is the owner, and is a pleasure to talk to. He quoted me an awesome price, and since these guys do the body /​paint work for the local Infinity dealership, I figured they must do quality work.
It took them 10 days to do the job, and I could not be more pleased with the work they did! Complete de-​trim and prep. Several coats of base, followed by high solids clear, and buff. Trim black on the fender flares and bumpers, and they even painted my wheels, which look great. I now have a higher quality paint job than the Toyota factory puts out on it’s new cars, and my truck looks better than it did when I bought it new.
So glad I found this place! If you want high quality work, it’s by far your best bang for the buck anywhere.
