Chula Vista TV & Hi-​Fi Center UPDATE (aka Jack’s Expert TV & Hi-​Fi Center AND San Diego TV repair pros): John Zawatski (aka Vinny Johnson) was sentenced today (June 13, 2016) to 5 years 4 months for Ct 1 ⁴⁵⁹⁄₄₆₀ PC Residential Burglary, Ct 8 476 (a) PC multiple felony NON-​SUFFICIENT FUND CHECK– MULTIPLE CHECKS (FELONY) Priors 667(b)-)i), 1170.12÷688

As usual, one star is an astronomical over rating! I just want to announce that I will be attending the sentencing tomorrow, 6/​13/​16. I know of one other victim who will be there. Please join us if you too have been ripped off by this scumbag. Maybe we can grab a beer afterwards.

The shop has had my receiver since November 22, 2015. I had to bring it back a second time to fix the original problem. I tried several times to contact them but they never return any of my calls and they were always closed. All I want is my receiver and refund.

This place appears to be closed. The windows are covered and they are not open during business hours. The phone number has been disconnected.

This guy is a crook! He does not do his job and makes excuses. Do not deal with him. He literally said Unilocal reviews are full of crap. Most likely, my tv will be broken beyond repair by this guy. I strongly suggest that he be held to the nth degree on his actions. He is rude. He thinks it is ok to argue with his customers.
This guy lies and knows that he is wrong for what he is doing. Do not use him!!! Terrible service!!!
Feb 11: Went in to pick up my tv after canceling my repair. Nastiest attitude ever. Even went as far as saying that he only made a deal with my wife because he didn’t know I was black. RACIST!!! He only wanted cash for the pickup because he wanted no documentation of the incident. Do not deal with this guy. He has changed shops. He thinks he is above the law. Please join the suit aimed at shutting him down for good. He is a crook and runs an unethical operation.

There are so many complaints about this business, it is now under investigation by San Diego DA’s office.
I do not recommend anyone have anything repaired here.

Stay away from this place. Worst experience with a small business I have ever had. He came out and diagnosed my Sony TV problem as a T-​Con Board. He looked up the part and found it was in stock and $ 356.46. This was on 9 August. After several weeks I called and was told that they were expecting a shipment in that week… another week went by and they gave me the same story. Finally got him to admit that part is no longer available. He said he would mail me back a check for the cost of the part, less the in-​home iagnostic fee. After several more weeks, he said that the check would go out on Friday night with all the other cheks. We’ve had several rounds, now, of that excuse. It is now late October… no check. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH SOMEONE LIKE THIS!

All the reviews appear to be the same! If I could give this zero stars or negative number of stars I would. This man is a crook and a liar. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB.

On July 24,2015 John came to my house from Jack’s Expert TV & HIFI Center (the other name for Chula Vista TV & HiFi Center.
He came out to the house to inspect my LG tv. He determined that the main board was bad. That’s why my HDMI ports would not work. John at that time said that the part was in stock and it would be here in 7 business days. We settled on a price and out of good faith I paid john up front $ 305.00 for the repairs, labor and material. I was leaving for vacation at the end of the month and I told John that he could do the repair after I got back.
I returned from vacation on Friday August 14^th
I called John on August 17 so he could do the repairs. John’s reply was that the part was on back order. I asked when will it be in, he said it should only be a few more days.
I called john September 3 I got the same answer part is still on order.
Called John again September 18, he said that he needed to order the part from another vender be cause mine was not in stock in the USA.
Still no part
Finally on September 23 I stopped in at John’s shop on El Cajon Blvd and requested that he give me a full refund due to him not delivering on the part or installation. He did at that time agree to give me my money back. I asked when should I receive a check and he said in a couple of days. Shortly after I left the shop I got a voice mail on my cell phone that said, «I have good news I found your part it should be here in a couple of days.»
Its now Friday October 16 2015, John still does not have my tv part. I stopped in on John at his shop and demanded my money back since he has not delivered on my repairs. John gave me the same answer that I been getting since July. I ordered the part. I said that I want a full refund. It should not take 3 almost 4 months to receive a part for my tv. John would still not refund me my money.
I have now filed a complaint with the BBB.

OMG… After reading the reviews… it was like reading my own negative experience… 1 star is …1 star toooooo many.

RUN AS FAR AS YOU CAN!!! This place is definitely not a place you want to go.
On September 15, 2015, I called Chula Vista TV and Hi-​Fi Center to come diagnose the problem with our Samsung 55″ tv. John came and said it was the «power supply board.» He looked on his phone and said the company had it in stock and it would take 7 days to get here unless we wanted 2-​day shipping for $ 35.00. We agreed to 2-​day shipping and he said he would order the board that night. We gave him a check for $ 156.93 which included the power supply board ($ 71.98), 2-​day shipping ($ 35) and the service call for $ 49.95.
On September 17, 2015, I called him to see when he could come out and fix the tv. He said the board didn’t arrive and maybe tomorrow.

On September 19, 2015, I called him and he said the UPS hadn’t come yet, but if the part came he would call us. I asked him what about the 2-​day shipping and he said that the part wasn’t eligible for 2-​day shipping after all and he had to order it from somewhere else. However, I was never notified of this until I asked.
On September 21, 2015, I called him again and he said the part hasn’t shown up and he would call me as soon as it did. At that time, I told him I was going to be out of town for a couple of days, so call my husband to arrange a time for repair when the part came.
When I returned on September 24, 2015, I called him again and asked what is going on. He said oh, we just got the part today. I said OK, when can you come out and put it in. He said we are really busy and can’t make it out until Saturday. I asked what time and he said I don’t know I need to do a schedule.
I called again on Friday, September 25 to find out what time and he said he wasn’t sure yet.
I called on Saturday morning, September 26 and he said he would be out between 3:00 — 5:00 p.m. I said OK. I called again at 3:23 p.m. to verify, but there was no answer. I called again at 5:18 p.m. because no one had shown up yet and he said «I have a guy out in the field. He has your board, he had three calls.» So I waited until 6:06 p.m. and called the store and there was no answer. I called again at 6:43 p.m. and 7:28 p.m. requesting the courtesy of a call and received no response. When I called, it said their Sunday hours were 1:00 — 6:00 p.m. On Sunday, September 27^th, I called and the answering machine at that time said that they were closed on Sunday.
I called Monday, September 28, 2015 at 8:25 a.m. to see what was going on. The owner said, «oh, we weren’t able to get to you on Saturday.» I asked about Sundays, he said he recently changed the hours because everyone deserves a day off. He said I’ll see if we can come out today, but the lady won’t be in until 3 p.m. I told him at that time, if you are unable to come today, I want a full refund of my money. He said ok. I called again at 3:10 p.m. and he said he is not able to come out today because the lady wasn’t in today to do the schedule and she is «on her way back to San Diego.» I’m sure he knew this in the morning, but told me to call back anyway. I reiterated that I want a full refund of my money. He said, «well, if that’s the way you want to go.» I said it was. He said fine, but they don’t keep checks in the store. I asked him what his name was and he said, «John» when I asked for a last name, he told me that they don’t give them out. I told him I will pick up a check from him in the morning and he said, «we don’t do that, they have to go through the U.S. mail.» I asked him when I would receive my check and he said he would mail it.
In the meantime, I called Samsung. A technician came on October 1^st, and said it not the power supply board that is the problem. It is the main board. So, not only did he lie about getting the part, he lied about it being the power supply board. It is now October 4^th, obviously, I have not received a check from them.
I am planning to contact the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Affairs, the District Attorney and anyone else willing to listen. This company is called Chula Vista TV & Hi-​Fi Center and also Jack’s Expert TV and HiFi. This is NOT the company on 3^rd Avenue in Chula Vista, this company is located on El Cajon Blvd. If you have been burned by this company, please send me an email and we can join forces to hopefully ensure that no one else is taken.

I found this little repair shop for My Sony 300 CD Changer and they did a awesome job. Thank Goodness I found them cause If I hadn’t. I would have to send it out to New York to Sony for repair’s. And the price was good.
