Autumn is a color genius! She turned my daughters bleached blond hair with dark roots into what looks like natural blonde. It was absolutely perfect.

I cannot begin to describe how happy I have been with my hair since going to Autumn. Each time I leave an appointment, I am pleased. She is very down to earth and extremely personable! The best hairstylist in San Diego by far. Being blonde, it is hard to find someone who is comfortable doing highlights in a way that looks natural and effortless. Autumn is amazing when it comes to a naturally processed look.

I was referred to Autumn from a friend of mine. So glad for it! She’s awesome. Her talent is as good as her likability… meaning she’s personable, easy to talk to, AND knows how to cut and color hair. :-) It’s important to be able to relax when someone’s working on my hair, knowing they know what they’re doing. As a guy with short hair, my needs aren’t very complicated but I appreciate Autumn’s asking for feedback and including me in any decision making. I always look forward to my next session!

First time visit, and absolutely love my hair! I came in to correct chunky blonde highlights that were put all over my head by a different stylist (despite the fact I never asked for that). Autumn handled the color issue beautifully, then she even fixed the poorly cut bangs and styled my hair. Oh, and the scalp massage was a bonus (that must be what cats feel like). I loved the scent of the products she used, and my hair was so soft afterward! Seriously, see this woman. Your hair will thank you for it!

Today, I had my first appointment with Autumn. I added a before and after picture to the gallery. I initially came in with VERY red hair. My natural hair is blonde and since summer is coming and red is a pain to maintain (especially with someone like me, who is in and out of the pool and ocean through September), I wanted to start moving back to blonde. I did not want to just bleach my hair. I wanted to prevent as much damage as possible, especially since I had virgin hair prior to going red. My hair is still in really good shape and I wanted to keep it that way. Autumn did ultra fine highlights throughout my hair to get the color much lighter, and it resulted in a beautiful strawberry blonde. What I love is that it all looks very natural — natural is Autumn’s style, not that crazy chunky look people seem to like. If you look at the photos, it all blends beautifully. She really took her time and was super friendly and chatty the entire time, which made the hours fly by. She also made a point to consistently check the processing, to make sure we were getting to the color we wanted. All in all, thrilled, and I’m going back for a hair cut on Friday! Thank you Autumn!

All the good things you’ve read are true! After my hair stylist moved away several years ago, I’ve had nothing but mediocre experiences that certainly don’t justify the hefty amount I spend on my hair. Autumn nailed it! I have FINALLY found my new hair stylist! I love that she really took her time. Each foil placed was careful and intentional. She didn’t rush at all, didn’t yank my hair and gave me honest feedback about what would look best and be healthiest for my hair. I walked out of the salon today feeling really happy with my hair for the first time in years. The products she uses are great too! Go Autumn, thank you!

Autumn is fantastic! Since moving to San Diego 3 years ago, I have had trouble finding a hair stylist who actually takes the time to do a good color and cut and Autumn did just that. She took her time with my highlight, made sure she got the color right, gave an amazing scalp massage with my wash, did a great blow out and was so enjoyable to talk to. I have long, thick, blonde hair and am a freak about good and natural looking highlights, so trust me when I say she does an excellent job.
I have really high expectations when I get my hair done, as I have a trusted stylist at home who has been doing my hair fabulously for over 12 years in a beautiful salon. I was very very happy with not only Autumn, but with Salon on 30^th. Beautiful, open space in a historical building with a lot of natural light and great music. The ambiance and vibe makes for a relaxing way to enjoy your time in the chair.
I am so happy to say that I have finally found my stylist in San Diego, thanks for a 5 star experience, Autumn!

Two days ago I went to Autumn for my first time because of all these amazing reviews.
Let me first start off by saying Autumn is so nice. She made me feel as if I have known her for years. We talked basically the whole time it took to get my hair done.
Now with that aside, I went in to be even more blonde, came out with the exact same color. It did look natural, she blended the highlights well, but it didn’t look any different.
My cut was the most comforting thing during my experience there. Before she did anything she cut my hair, dry. She cut off my longest layer and that was it. Yes, I told her I knew my hair was dead and I was willing to cut off everything that was dead. However she just cut the longest part of my hair which was about four inches. I would have been okay with that if she did that to the rest of my layers meaning i had four inches of dead hair everywhere. She then proceeded to my color. After she dried my hair, with a little twist at the end and cut it dry again ! This time it was just a trim. She told me that she didn’t like cutting hair and she just likes coloring. That would have been nice going in knowing… When i got home and looked at my hair the layers wernt even, and they didn’t transition nicely.
Its been two days and every time I look in the mirror I regret spending $ 300 on a hair cut I hate, and a color that has no difference. I’m so dissatisfied I haven’t worn my hair down, not even in my house.
It sucks I have to write a sucky review to someone who is so nice.

I effing love my hair, and I love Autumn.
This woman is a PRO. She masterfully interpreted my wishy-​washy instructions of «I want it to look natural, but better… blonde, but not too blonde… highlights, but not like, highlight-​y…» and produced an outcome that was honestly the best hair color/​cut I’ve had in years. It looks natural, yet upgraded. We joked that the color was «yoga blonde» because I wanted the perfect sun-​kissed color for my naturally ashy blonde hair, and she knew exactly what I was talking about. She is so skilled, and her communication– which is arguably just as important in a hair stylist– is amazing. She is very generous with her time, and was meticulous in her processes.
I’m referring all of my friends to Autumn. I’m so happy with my hair right now.
I wish I needed my hair done more often so that I could hang out with her more. She’s rad. Thanks, Autumn!

Besides the fact that Autumn has color down to a science, she is an amazing person too. I felt so comfortable in the chair talking to her — I could have talked to her for hours and I did! And it was amazing. I moved to town recently and was looking for a new stylist which is scary, but after reading all of the positive reviews written here I felt like I could trust her with my hair. And not only could I trust her, I never want to go anywhere else ever again! She gave me an ombré and I love it — it’s so natural, not drastic and the price was reasonable too. She has a booking app that makes setting an appointment a breeze — if you’re thinking about having her do your hair — stop! And just do it, you won’t be sorry. Thank you, Autumn. Autumn was a life-​saver. I started my search for a new stylist after having a horrible experience at another salon. My hair had been so damaged by a bad highlight job that I thought I would never be able to go light again.
I scheduled a consultation with Autumn and she listened to my concerns and told me that I could go light, and have the highlights that I love! I went in the next week and left feeling so happy! She is amazing! The highlights she put in are the best I’ve ever had, and exactly what I told her that I wished they would look like!
I am so glad I found her… as a side note, there was road construction going on the day of my appointment so I had to park in metered parking. Autumn was so thoughtful and asked about my parking and went and fed my meter while I was processing because I hadn’t put in for enough time.
She is a really sweet person with a great personality, and I enjoyed every aspect of my appointment!!!

Autumn is wonderful! I started going to her after my stylist of four years moved away. She was able to match my color perfectly. I always enjoy my appointments she has a great personality and is fun to be around. I highly recommend Autumn, especially for reds!

Autumn is simply amazing. I thought I was never going to find a great stylist to give me that natural sun kissed blond highlights that I love when I relocated to San Diego. Thankfully, I listened to Unilocal and found Autumn. She gets that I don’t want to look like a OC Real Housewife but that I also need some color in my life to boost my boring brown hair that sadly lost its blond tones after fifth grade. Best of all, she not only listens — she delivers!
I couldn’t be happier with my half ombré/​half partial highlights and have only had to get my hair colored after six months of it growing out — no that’s not a typo. The highlights were so natural it took me six months to really need a touch up and my hair grew a significant length in that time.
I get along with her great, and can chat the appointment away, which only puts the icing on the cake for me. Be prepared to pay for a quality cut and color on your visit, but it is definitely worth it. Run, don’t walk to Autumn!

I hate doing my hair and need someone who understands that I need it to look good… while I make it look bad! Lol I love this woman and so thankful she is my hair guru! Together we will fight this grey war! Lol seriously book your appointment and it’s a bonus she’s in Southpark!

Awesome Autumn :) I am so happy to have found a great hair stylist and colorist in South Park and close to home! I am very picky when it comes to my hair, but you are in good hands here! I have been pleased the last few times that I have gotten my hair done! She likes to see pictures, which is great and can tell you what she can do. I trust her and enjoy my time in her chair! You even get a glass of wine during your appointment, how great is that? Makes for an enjoyable experience!

I am pretty skeptical when it comes to getting my hair done. I have had horror stories of a perm gone wrong, an ugly shade of blonde as an «ombré», and terrible hair cuts. Needless to say, I was quite nervous before coming to Autumn.
I requested a mix of auburns and reds in my brown hair and showed her some pictures that I thought would be beautiful. Autumn was honest with me and told me that would not look good on me, and would look cheap. So, I told her what I was going for and she had an idea and went to work while I drank large glasses of wine in anticipation.
After all was said and done, it essentially was not what I was hoping for. Autumn is very very good at making colored hair look natural. However, I wanted a little more, and she could tell I was not 100% satisfied, so she offered to add more color. She warned me that in order to get what I want, I’d have to bleach my hair, which I consented to. She put in reds and light browns that I wanted, and after the second round, my hair still looks natural, but exactly what I want!
On top of a great job with my hair, Autumn was great at making the whole experience a good one, with the wine, the head massage and the good conversation. I’ll definitely be back!

Best colorist ever! I don’t even want to think about her ever moving, I finally found my hair girl lol I have been to practically every salon in San Diego and never have I ever been able to lighten my hair without it looking orange or brassy or ugly. I even contemplated driving up to L. A because I had given up. I’m soooo freakin happy I found Autumn and her hair magic. I don’t feel like words can describe how awesome she is. If your sick of going home after a visit to the salon only to have to fix your hair do yourself a favor and book an appt with Autumn. You will LOVE your hair! I’m never wasting my money anywhere else!

I have been searching for a great hairstylist for the 5 years I have lived in San Diego. To be honest, I just about gave up and continued to see my old stylist from Boston every trip back east. I am so happy to say that Autumn far surpassed my expectations. Not on are the blond highlights perfectly natural and better than I could’ve asked for, but the amount of personal client time she spent with me was amazing.
I had asked her to keep my highlights natural and not only did she keep it looking natural, she was also able to give me a great subtle boost for summer time. She also gave me exactly the trim I wanted, keeping my hair and layers long and cutting off the dead ends.
On top of all her professional expertise and percision, Autumn is kind and gracious. She made me feel extemely comfortable right from the start and I can’t wait to go back to her again. THANKS SO MUCH Autumn!
