Doggies Divine

I found this place and the owners to be very aggressive and negative. I went there because my daughter took her dog there. I made an appointment for my cat. they were not friendly and wanted me to sign multiple forms which I found offensive. They wanted me to agree to let them take my cat to a vet (who I’ve never met and who was sitting out in her car in the parking lot) in case my cat needed care… when I sounded skeptical and a little leary that this might be some kind of way for this vet to make $$ and for them also, the owner with the grey hair sniffed loudly that I was accusing them of being thieves and said «I’m hearing too many red flags!!!» The other owner was a bit nicer and tried to calm the other one down… it only got worse from there! I had never even met these people and I have never been treated so poorly. One of the groomer grabbed my cat out of the carrier and my cat screeched. she hurt my cat who is 17 years old and traumatized her… well, that was it for me. I took my poor kitty and left.
Overall the place is very tiny… loud with blowers and loud, aggressive women. The whole place seemed very chaotic and I think the one owner needs medication too calm down! I would never recommend anyone to this place… I have been getting my cats groomed for years in La Jolla at the vets office, One would think it would be La Jolla where maybe they would have you sign all kinds of paper work and consents and maybe have such a big attitude, but nope, never. These ladies must imagine they have blue blood and pedigree’s themselves but they really betrayed themselves by their own haughty and rude behavior’s.

I was referred to Sara by my previous groomer whose new grooming location was just becoming too costly. Sara did a gr8 job, my dog looked great, had no cuts/​gashes, no issues with his anal glands nor did he come back with fleas like some of the other reviews mentioned. However, you do have to request anal gland treatment but it’s at no extra charge. Also, they don’t include teeth brushing but it was only an extra $ 5. I was given a $ 5 discount for the referral so I only payed $ 40 for everything! Plus she got him done within 2 hours whereas other groomers are sometimes 3 – 4 hrs. All the ladies that worked there were super friendly and my dog came out with a little tie on! Highly recommend this place and request Sara.

I took my 3 dogs here pretty recently. It’s very convenient to my home, but I’m not sure I’m going to bring them back. The cuts were very good, but the interior of the place is a little dated, I had to give my full information twice (once on the phone and then on all 3 forms when I arrived.), which was a bit annoying.
The thing that was the most frustrating was that 2 of my 3 dogs came home with a decent sized gash on each of them. One had one the size of a dime on her torso and the other had a cut on her ear. My pets are very used to getting their hair cut and going to the groomer. They have been to many groomers, get along well with other dogs and don’t exhibit any nervous tendencies, so I’m not sure how this happened. It hasn’t in the 9 years prior of getting them groomed.
The jury is still out on this place for me.

I am ecstatic that I was referred to this place. I thought I would never find a place that would be able to groom my 2 year old bischon-​frise mix curly, mop-​like rescue doggie. He was to the point where he had matted hair everywhere and it was bothering him so much. But not as much as any type of clipping or shaving instruments! He is a VERY difficult to groom dog. My first experience was at a Petsmart, where they told me to leave him for around 4 hours and they would call me. I’ve had plenty of dogs before, but none that needed grooming, so this was kind of surprising to me. Even more surprising was that they called me within 5 – 10 minutes to explain to me that they could not groom him because they feared for his safety. They said that he was so upset, that they worried about his well-​being. Great! Then, I got a referral for a mobile groomer who came to my home. Boy was that a stressful day. He screamed bloody murder for 3 plus hours, it cost me 80 dollars and I now realize that it wasn’t near as good of a cut and groom as is normal. He left alone the areas that my dog didn’t like. Anyway, I was grateful that the matted fur was gone, and that the groomer didn’t seem fazed by what seemed to me to be a extremely stressful experience. Well… It turns out, he did have a problem. That problem was that he refused to groom my dog again. I didn’t find this out until I went to book my next appointment. He could have been honest with me from the beginning!
After a friend’s referral, I called and spoke to Sara. I explained to her how difficult he was, and my concerns, but she seemed unfazed, telling me that they are experienced with handling difficult dogs. Everyone was super nice, I waited out in the car… just waiting for that dreaded phone call that they couldn’t work with him due to his extreme anxiety and fighting… but it never came!!! I watched everyone else walk out with their pretty doggie’s, and could tell how excited that they were about their baby’s grooming and hoped for the best for me and my boy.
Then came someone else walking out with a doggie at one point and I just looked away. BECAUSE I DIDN’T RECOGNIZE MY OWN DOG! I was beyond shocked at what an amazing job she pulled off. I didn’t know that he could ever be so cute and soft and HAPPY even, after what I thought must’ve been excruciating for him. She said that he did much better than what she thought from what I described and only had a fit with two problem areas. Now, whether this was glossing over the truth or not… it does not matter. He is beautiful and healthy and I am confident that I have a groomer for life for him now. No more stress! I don’t know what their prices are for other dogs, but I paid almost 30 dollars less than what the mobile groomer charged me. :) :) AND, it only took an hour! They gave him a pretty Halloween bow… I went and showed him off at Fiesta Island next door after (not having to worry about him getting all dirty and more matted because of his new short haircut,) and it just overall made my day. On the drive home I looked over at him on the seat and he looked like a adorable puppy that you would get as a Christmas gift, with his cute little bow and pretty haircut.
I have received so many compliments, no one else recognizes him either. He looks like he lost about 15 lbs, he no longer pants all of the time due to the thick coat… Don’t know what else to say. He’s happy, I’m happy, everyone who see’s him is happy, and Sara seemed pretty happy that the grooming went so well too. Just can’t describe how cute he is now, he’s like a brand new doggie. Don’t hesitate!!! Give this place a try. You won’t regret it!

So happy with this place! I was trying to get my dog bathed for my sailor’s return home, and made the mistake of waiting until the day before. Every groomer in my neighborhood (Hillcrest) was booked, but someone finally recommended these guys, and I’m so happy they did! I called and they were able to squeeze us in– they gave her a bath so she smelled super clean (not perfumed) and even took the time to do her nails. It’s a little out of the way, but I will absolutely make the trip again– the prices are fair and the staff was very sweet (:

These girls are the ‘bomb’ — I take my 3 getto looking ‘kids’ here when their losing their ‘mojo’ and they prance out looking like they’re ‘prep school’ proper — be careful though, your dogs will have serious ‘attitude’ after such a spa makeover — love Doggies Devine!

Just an fyi… while I was happy with the grooming, I wasn’t happy that my pups came home with fleas. I am so diligent about their treatments, etc. The day after Finney & Lolita came home I started getting bites and they were scratching up a storm. I thought that maybe they were allergic to the shampoo used. But I checked them over and found many fleas. So disappointed

I’ve been taking my teacup yorkie here for a year and haven’t encountered any issues, until this past Monday. The girl Sara who groomed her wasn’t there when I picked her up and I wasn’t given any feedback on her. I noticed she wasn’t too happy and looked sad, which is the complete opposite of her personality… before her appointment she was so hyper and wagging her tail like crazy. Well I monitored her behavior at home bc I was concerned… my poor baby kept shaking and started to walk to the house and Unilocaled out then sat down on the ground bc she didn’t want to move, keeping her tail tucked the whole time. I waited a couple hrs thinking maybe she was having anxiety or something, when I called at 5 they were closed so I left a message in order to get a call back the next day. Unfortunately they didn’t call me so I had to contact them, the girl who groomed her answered… I asked if anything out of the ordinary happened bc she still wasn’t acting normal… of course she said nothing happened. But a dog doesn’t do a 180 in a 2 hr period for no reason. Well needless to say I’m out $ 530 with vet bills trying to figure out if something is wrong and it’s become a medical mystery. My vet thinks something must have occurred to traumatize her while she was being groomed since nothing physically has presented itself. I’m extremely upset that they didn’t really care about my dogs well being nor did they groom her well at all this time! I will never return here and it’s sad bc I’ve recommended several ppl here at the dog park etc Never again. A year invested is wasted bc of an inexperienced groomer and
Owners were too busy to keep on top of things!!!

I don’t have enough kind words to express how thankful I am for these ladies.
I have a senior dog who is blind and starting to go deaf.
I have been very weary of taking my little guy to the groomers.
I called around and even stopped into to several places to try to feel out some groomers.
I asked them all do you do a faster service for seniors?
Response was no plan on your dog being here 3 or 4 hours.
That to me was not acceptable I noticed that most of these places had all of the dogs stacked up in kennels and some of the dogs looked very stressed.
I had kinda given up at that point UNTIL I was out running some errands and happen to have my dog with me and I drove by Doggie Divine and looked at Teddy and said hmmmmmm you need your nails cut let’s flip a u turn and go check this place out.
I walked in with my dog and I could not believe the energy in the room.
The ladies welcomed us and I explained what I was looking for in a groomer and my dogs needs.
There response was when we book your dog a appointment that is their time we don’t double and triple book appointments and make our furry four legged friends wait.
I was so relieved I finally found a place that truly take care of our pets.
I made a appointment for Teddy @9:45am and they called at 11:30 to say he was ready to go.
He looks great they took such good care of him.
I highly highly recommend Doggie Divine.

My husband and I moved here from New Jersey a couple of months ago. My two dogs came with us! Doggies Devine was recommended by someone at our apartment complex. I have thanked her for this referral! Doggies Devine is absolutely terrific! I’m very happy with the care and service my dogs have received! All of the ladies are very good groomers. I love their uniforms! Judy was the initial groomer who helped me pick services and hair length for my girls — she was a peach to work with!

GREAT! FABULOUS! AWESOME! And definitely DIVINE! I’ve been looking for a good (and trustworthy) groomer for my very stinky, sensitive, and shaggy German Shepherd and my very wiggly hyperactive 1 year old Aussie/​Shep mix. My last groomer left me wondering if my animals had been abused and I’ve been reluctant to leave them anywhere that didn’t come with a good track record of humane service. Well, I’m happy to report that my search is over. The lovely ladies at Doggies Divine took the time to hear my concerns and did what was necessary to make me happy and my dogs sparkle. I think they brushed 10lbs of excess undercoat off my GSD, and my pesky pup came home shiny and smelling wonderful as well. All the women working there seemed to take an interest in my pooches and were loving and gentle with the animals I witnessed them working with. The prices are great too, which is a good thing if you own beach dogs that need frequent baths like mine do.
I definitely recommend this little shop and will be using them exclusively from here out.

We just switched groomers over to this one and we love it! Our scotty looks perfect now and best of all: no nicks, cuts or close shaving of any kind. Super nice staff and really good with dogs.

I use to come here when my friend worked right around the corner. My friend has moved now and I live 30 minutes away. I still come here. I’ve tried other groomers closer to me and I had to come back here to get it fixed. I won’t be cheating on them any more. They are quick and meticulous when it comes to grooming your furry friend. I really like it here and so does my dog.

We have lived in San Diego, Boston, NYC and now back to SD. No one has done a better job grooming Sunny.
He is always clean, cute and smelling good when I pick him up!

When my husband I and got our «mini» schnauzer in December we knew that the search was on for a good groomer for this high maintenance boy. My in-​laws have been taking their dog to Petco or PetSmart and had been encouraging us to go that route. I found Doggies Divine on Unilocal and realized that it was the same place I passed every day on my way to work. I figured it would be worth a shot to give them a try since they are right up the street.
They did a great job the first few times we took him in but after a not so great haircut my husband talked me into taking him to PetSmart to «save some money». After 4 hours (4 times as long as Doggies takes) we saved a whole $ 5 and got a very sad looking schnauzer. That was all the proof I needed to NEVER have to take him anywhere else again.
We now make sure that he sees the same person (Judy) every time and he always looks great. I’ve always been greeted politely and they’ve always been friendly enough. They are even nice enough to not complain about his loud shrieking when I come to pick him up.
Bottom line, Judy does a great job, they are fast without being careless and the price is great.

I finally found a great groomer! I called right when they opened to see if they had an appointment the day of and I was so excited that they were able to fit my pekingese mix in! Even though I messed up the time and was a half hour late for my appointment they were still super nice and accommodating. She explained that it would take a bit longer but it was no biggie.
I was happy with the attentiveness I received when I explained the list of what I needed for my dog. I needed it short for our camping trip next week but still pretty silly-​looking (I have a sense of humor when it comes to how my dog looks). They worked with me on what they thought would be best and even suggested giving her head fringe some pink color. I was super excited!
She came out looking amazing, way better than I could have imagined. She was the smoothest I’ve ever felt and she smelled like magic. They even gave her a funky bandanna to match her new look.
And the best part? Only $ 45! WHAT?! Amazing. It would have just been $ 40 but they gave her a flea dip. Despite my home flea treatments, she still had some. They even suggested a better flea medication for my dog.
I’m so happy with their customer service and treatment of my dog. I can’t wait til she gets dirty again!

I really like Doggies Divine, and so does Muppet (my dog). Within 45 minutes Muppet is washed and groomed for a reasonable price. Doggies Divine includes all those little nuances you loathe of bathing your canine friend: shampoo, brush, trim, blow-​dry, nail clipping and all-​too-​personal anal gland extraction. E-ghad…I’d pay $ 60 just for the latter.
He comes home clean and presentable (see the picture). Thanks to the ladies at Doggies Divine.
