Dr. Drosman is such an awesome doctor! Very thorough, professional, and great bedside manner. He has an amazing ability to put you at ease in what could be considered the most embarrassing exam of the year.

When my home pregnancy test came out positive I went on Unilocal looking for an OB to confirm the pregnancy. Dr. Drosman had great reviews so I chose him. My husband and I went in for our appointment. Dr. Drosman was warm, caring and pretty much wonderful as he showed us our newest family member on a sonogram. He doesn’t deliver anymore so he gave us a great referral and we ended up with Dr. Schwendehman.
Fast forward a year (we have a beautiful baby girl!) I went in to see if he could help me with a post pregnancy issue. He solved it in minutes, sent me home with the appropriate medicine and I am so very happy I went to see him!

As a new patient, they’ve provided excellent service from the phone call to schedule an appt. to the visit.
I’ve contacted other offices prior to Dr. Drosman & this office actually answered their phone & i spoke to a live person.
I forgot the name of the nurses who greeted me and assisted me with all the paperwork, but they were extremely friendly and nice to have small talk with them.
Turns out i didn’t need a pap since i had one earlier this year. Dr. Drosman still met with me asked me questions about my medical history, bcp, etc. I had a few questions and he showed his concerns and did an ultra sound to ensure my vaginal area is normal :)
Anyway, it was a very pleasant, smooth experience as a new patient. I felt really comfortable with Dr. Drosman & his staff. Very professional and friendly.

I change my previous gynecologist and went to see Dr Drosman. What a difference! He is very professional, understanding, personal. So happy I made a change.

FIRST-​TIMERS: Very pleasant experience — my first time here for a basic pap smear and it went super smooth. They have you fill out about 15 – 20 minutes worth of paperwork on the first visit; then Dr. Drosman’s medical assistant (MJ, who is great) takes your blood pressure and asks a few questions; then Dr. Drosman comes in and introduces himself before the exam; then you go into another room for the exam, strip down and put on the gown; the actual pap takes less the 5 minutes. All in all — awesome experience. Dr. Drosman is very professional and totally personable, he makes the whole experience easy and makes you feel as comfortable as one can when getting their pap done. :)

I really hate to give Dr. Drosman a one star, as he’s a very sweet man, and let me start off by saying that his staff is exceptional, but honestly, my experience was not as great as some of the others.
I’ve been living in San Diego for a year now, and decided that I was ready to think about having children in the next year or so and really wanted to find an OBGYN with a very personal staff and office that was located close to home for me. I did a lot of research and used these ratings on Unilocal to find Dr. Drosman, visited his office and then decided to change out of Mercy to Sharp just to go to him.
My first visit was a bit unusual for me. I’m used to a doctor wanting to know a bit of history about me, especially a personal doctor such as an OBGYN and even a primary care, but Dr. Drosman did not want the medical records that I had released to him and brought; also, he didn’t ask many questions. I felt it was strange, but since I had researched him and saw what other people had to say, and knew that he was big into clinical studies on women and research, I just figured he knew what he was talking about. Without knowing my history, except the fact that I had had an ovarian cyst rupture and had to have surgery a year prior, he just changed my birth control pill. I didn’t even go into the office for that. I wanted to just chat with him, get to know him as a physician and for him to give me a bit of advice on what to do to prepare my body for coming off the pill, as I have trouble with cysts, etc and wanted to know how to manage this during the phase of trying to conceive.
At any rate, I changed pills on his request. Two months into the pill, I broke out into disgusting and uncontrollable acne on my back. After pretty much trying everything and thinking that it was stress, weather, my hair conditioner, etc, I decided to research my old birth control and then the new one that he had just casually changed me to.
The moral of the post is… If he had bothered to look at my blood work from previous years, he would have seen that I normally have high estrogen, high testosterone and low progesterone. Here’s what I found:
Previous Pill:
Viorele which has Desogestrel instead of Levonorgestrel, which is «a third-​generation progestin with high progestational selectivity, minimizing androgenic effects and estrogenic activity. It shows less negative impact on metabolism, weight gain, acne, and other side effects typical of older progestins. It shows positive effects on lipoproteins as seen by a slight rise of HDL cholesterol. Clinical trials show a possibly higher risk of non-​fatal venous thrombosis with desogestrel pills versus those with levonorgestrel. Mircette (a low-​dose estrogen/​desogestrel pill) provides a shorter placebo interval, which may be helpful for women who have migraines, dysmenorrhea, or other negative issues during that week.»
The pill he put me on:
Quartette has Levonorgestrel which is «a second-​generation progestin and is the most widely prescribed contraceptive progestin worldwide. It has high progestational and androgenic effects. Levonorgestrel negatively affects serum lipoproteins.»
Honestly, I’m VERY disappointed. :(I really thought he was a super nice guy and the staff is very accommodating and sweet. I’m just sad that yet again, there are doctors that sometimes do not take the time to really get to know their patients.

I chose to see Dr. Drosman based purely on his Unilocal reviews. And boy– do I know how to pick ‘em! 1^st off, his office is in my ‘hood. The moment I walked into his office, his super friendly staff greeted me very warmly. They WANTED to talk to me and get to know me, about my business, etc. It seemed like every patient that came in knew the staff very well and were very personable with them. Marisol, the doctors assistant was incredibly warm and bubbly, chatting away with me. Dr. Drosman himself is SUCH a joy. He’s like your super sweet caring dad or grandpa– he jokes with you, pats you on the hand, really connects with you. He WANTS to know about you and your life, where you’re from, your story. He likes to chat. I like that. He made me feel 110% comfortable, extremely quick. Even when he was doing his exam he noticed that I was a little cold and threw a cozy blanket over me. It’s the little things, folks– they make a difference. He kept assuring me that his job is to make ME happy, and to deliver only good news. :-) Anyhow, so– needless to say, I am EXTREMELY satisfied with my new OBGYN. Ladies, this review’s for real— if you want a truly fabulous experience for your not so fabulous lady worries, go to Dr. Drosman. :-)

Dr. Drosman and his staff are so amazing and understanding. On top of being the best Gynecologists I have ever seen, him and his office staff are human and willing to work with me on my past due account. Who let’s their patients make $ 3 — $ 5 payments each month until they can afford to pay more? No one! I am so grateful for doctors like these and wish there were still more around.

Dr. Drossman is a very good doctor, great doctor! However, his billing staff needs to understand family needs have dynamic changes, especially under hard economic times. I’m currently an unemployed engineer, first time in my 53 years. I have two bills, with Dr. Drossman or my wife does :) the second has not gone over 30 days and I’m not sure its my wife’s. I’ve requested information on this bill twice now I’m redirected or get no response or return courtesy call sometimes I hear «I’ll get back to you»! For a family practice I would find a doctor who’s staff is willing work with you when you lose health insurance and Cobra doesn’t pay everything. Watch out for this office and its billing practices!

He is the kindest, sweetest doctor I’ve ever been to. I’m an ICU nurse, and out of all the doctors I’ve ever met he has the best bedside manner. Go make an appointment right now! He makes the usual awkward yearly exam a piece of cake.

Dr. Drosman is truly a GREAT Obgyn. I chose him because he was highly recommended and I see why now. I was extremely nervous about my procedure I needed to get done today but he made me feel relaxed and answered my questions. I knew exactly what he was doing and his main concern was my level of comfort. His staff was also very polite and assured me everything will go smoothly. I trust him and I will not go anywhere else thank you sooo much to you and your staff I really appreciate you all.

Dr. Drosman is a wonderful doctor! Going to the doctor can be a dreaded event for women and it is something that I never look forward too. However, Dr. Drosman and his staff made everything very comfortable. As a new patient he takes time to get to know you and sits down and talks with you to answers questions. He really cares about you as a patient and truly wants what’s best for you. He makes you laugh and feel very comfortable through the whole situation. If you are looking for a new GYN look no further!

Dr. Drosman is the doctor every woman could ever dream of having. He takes his time, never rushes you, and actually knows you as a patient. I have been going to him since I moved to San Diego (over 5 years), and will have a very difficult time going to another GYN when I move after such an amazing experience with him. Going the GYN is I think most women’s nightmare– and yet, he manages to make it an experience you don’t have to dread, reassures your every concern, and makes you feel like the most important patient in the world. I’m applying to medical school and have met a lot of doctors in my 5 years in patient research. He is the epitome of what a doctor should be, and what I strive to be in my own career.
Some personal examples of why Dr. Drosman is so great:
1. They were doing blood work, and I mentioned I needed my cholesterol checked. The cholesterol test is completely different the GYN testing, but Dr. Drosman had just gotten his own blood drawn and was sending his out, and sent mine out with it.
2. He asked what book I was reading and proceeded to have a conversation about literature.
3. He’s talked about the restaurants I should check out while conducting a pap, and made me laugh the whole time. Who laughs while getting a pap?
4. He told my friend she should come to his house to get fresh eggs from his chickens.
5. He gave me his personal cell phone number.
6. He wrote me a letter of recommendation for medical school– in fact, he insisted that he write one. He followed up with a phone call on a Saturday afternoon to make sure it got to the appropriate person and contact him if I needed anything else.
The one and only negative thing about seeing him is he is often running late, and you might sit in the waiting room for a bit. I tend to make my appointments early so I’m one of his first patients. This is only because he lets his patient talk for 2 hours if they need to, and he actually LISTENS.
I can’t say enough about this man. Just that he is seriously the greatest doctor, and maybe human being, in the world.

I just moved to San Diego and was dreading finding a new GYN. I could not believe how lucky I was to find Dr Drosman. He is absolutely incredible. I left his office wishing that I could see him more than once a year (any girl knows that a once of year check up seems too frequent)! If you are looking for a new doctor, look no further. He is the nicest most compassionate doctor I have ever visitted!

This doctor is the best! I have been going to him for over 10 years. He listens and cares about his patients. Doesn’t get better.
I was heartbroken that I had to leave him once I got pregnant. My husband and I had been trying for over a year and once it finally happened I was overjoyed but also worried because I would no longer be with Dr. Drosman.

Dr. Drosman is the best in the business… hands down! He delivered both of my kids. There is no one else that I would trust for all of my Gyno/​Care. If that wasn’t enough, the team of people that run the office like Susie, Karen and Christine are amazing! They, along with Dr. D make you feel like you are family every time they see you or hear from you! I love you guys and Thank you for keeping me healthy and happy!

Love love love him! He’s like a father/​grandfather. So nice and easy to talk to. Doesn’t talk down to you about stuff.
I came in because my husband and I were trying to get pregnant and had issues for a while doing so. We are a younger couple and had a doctor before talk down to us because we wanted to start a family. He told me I was his project and he wouldn’t stop till he «got me pregnant».
The sad thing is… once you are pregnant… he can only see you for the first few weeks and then you have to go to a different doc. :(I would have given my limbs for Dr. Drosman to deliver my baby!
His staff is so nice and they get back to you when you call. There was an issue with my insurance and I ended up paying them and so did the insurance and I called them about it, and I had a check in the mail from them in just a few days. No hassle.
Great doc and very helpful. I cried when I had to leave him for my pregnancy..

We love you Dr. Drosman! You are what every doctor should be — kind, genuine, and so very knowledgeable.

He is the best obgyn I have ever gone to. He returns calls normally within the hour, is always giving free birth control samples, and he remings your of your grandpa. Not is a bad way. He has funny things on the ceiling and does the quickest most unpainful pap’s ever… He preformed a laparoscopy on my at Sharp Mary Birth and it was the best surgery recovery ever. Two weeks later I’m scar free and you can’t even see them in a swimsuit. Susie at the front desk is a sweatheart and will take every concern you have and make you feel better. Easy to get appointments. It won’t take more than a week. I don’t know what I’ll do when he retires :(

Dr. Drosman, has to be the BEST obgyn i’ve ever met! I cannot believe there aren’t reviews up for him!
