My work is a unique blend of left-​brained problem solving, resolution-​oriented therapy and right-​brained intuitive healing, soul-​lifting body poetry.

I am a connective tissue geek. I have been completely enthralled with the enormous amounts of new research being done that is changing the way we approach injuries, recovery and prevention on a physical level. The «no pain, no gain» model is completely outdated and now we understand why. I incorporate my knowledge of «The» body into my work with YOUR body as I listen carefully to you and the story that your tissues reveal as we work.

No two people have the same history or genetic make up and no two days in our lives are exactly the same, therefore a truly successful massage experience requires the practice of listening deeply, being completely responsive on every level as tension unravels and we find our way back to balance.

Customized treatments that are therapeutic, healing and provide lasting results are the cornerstone to my practice.

History

Established in 2003.

In my early 20’s, I traveled to Thailand and taught high school English. I was moved by the serenity and joy of the people and I was deeply inspired by the surrounding environment. As I traveled through the tropical rain forests, I was amazed how balanced and connected I felt among the rich, luscious palate that literally pulsed of LIFE. It seemed to me that the «pulse» I experienced was the same pulse that beats at the heart of every living thing, though we may struggle at times to feel connected to it. I began to develop a desire to nurture vitality, vibrancy and well-​being in others — the true nature of living beings on a living planet.

My vision has grown into what Flourish Bodywork is today: a beautiful private practice emphasizing therapies that restore balance to the whole person, helping them flourish physically, mentally and emotionally. I am honored to do my work and learn and grow from it personally every day.

Business Owner

Rachelle Clauson, HHP, offers client-​centered, integrative bodywork, massage and spa treatments that support the body’s natural ability to self-​correct and heal.

Rachelle received her training in somato-​emotional integration and craniosacral therapy from the Upledger and the Milne Institutes and the International Professional School of Bodywork. She received her pre– and peri-​natal massage certification with Carole Osborne-​Sheets and Body Therapy Associates. She is a graduate of Mueller College’s Massage Therapist-​Asian Therapies Program and holds a degree in Psychology.

Rachelle is a Licensed Holistic Health Practitioner with the City of San Diego #27 501, a Certified Bodywork Therapist and registered practicing member of Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (ABMP), is Board Certified with the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB), and is a Founding Member of the Fascial Research Society.
