What an amazing experience! My husband & I moved to SD from NYC this January. We weren’t familiar with the area and felt pretty overwhelmed when looking for apartments. For us, hiring Jamie was a no brainer.
If you are questioning the value of his service in any way here are the simple reasons why you shouldn’t. First off, he knows the neighbourhoods inside and out. Jamie told us he has lived in SD for over 8 years, which showed when he walked us through the entire downtown core and answered all of our questions. Secondly, he has access to private listings. The last condo we saw was one of his private listings and it ended up being everything we wanted. Lastly, he did all the hard work for us!
I would highly recommend Jamie and Downtown Condo Guy’s. They relieve stress, provide excellent service and get the job done!

I moved from San Jose to La Jolla in December, and decided to enlist Jamie’s help to find a rental from what I read about him on Unilocal.I wasn’t disappointed! We looked at several places (he took care of arranging the showings), and I had narrowed down my choices to a townhouse in the ‘burbs or a condo in La Jolla village. Jamie persuaded me to take the place in the village, and love it! He doesn’t just stop at helping you find a place though, he stays with you through the leasing process with the landlords and negotiates any changes you want (in my case, having the owner replace the carpet in the living room with tile which they agreed to after Jamie explained the benefits).
Jamie was attentive, knowledgeable, and is one of the kindest and most genuine people you’ll meet. I have no hesitation in recommending him, and will use him as soon as I’m ready to buy!

I was moving to SD from the bay area and Jamie was more than helpful in helping me get a condo. I was really picky about the place I wanted but Jamie made it happen despite what seemed like heavy rental competition in Little Italy (I had two condo’s I thought I had gotten on my own and both fell through prior). Jamie went above and beyond throughout the whole experience, but most notably in meeting with the property mgmt. company to get my keys during business hours since they wouldn’t be open on the Saturday I was moving down and I obviously wasn’t in town to pick them up.
Searching for a condo from out of town was a daunting task but Downtown Condo Guy’s services removed the stress and uncertainty from the process. Jamie demonstrated excellent service, enthusiasm and attitude. Highly recommended.

I had never been to San Diego before, so my fiancé and I were a little lost when it came to figuring out where to live. Jamie not only showed us a nice variety of condos downtown but also took the time to explain the different neighborhoods, and even show us some of his favorite bars/​restaurants. We really appreciate all of his help and would highly recommend his services.

Jamie and his team get 5 stars because they really do care about finding the right space for you. After wasting time on Craigslist and Zillow with no results, my husband and I came across Jamie. Within a few hours we were on the phone with him. Jamie takes the time to get to know you, your situation and what your needs are. We are moving from Canada and only had 12 days to find a place to call home. Jamie and Miguel delivered and we are so excited to call San Diego home! Do yourself a favour, call Jamie. Wow. If I could get Jamie 10 stars, I would. Being brand new to the San Diego area, I was full of questions about the best neighborhood for me – a late-​twenties, east coast transplant relocating for a new job in the downtown area (and, of course, warmer weather). I had been searching for places on my own through Craigslist and other sites for weeks, but when I came across Jamie’s reviews, I figured it might be worth talking to someone local to get advice. Best decision I could have made.
A quick phone call later, and I was met with a friendly, knowledgeable voice who was eager to help in my search for a new place to call home. We set up a time to meet several days later when I would be in the area for a final interview. Even before our initial meeting, I received informative communications, reminders, even a «good luck» text before my interview.
Our in-​person meeting included a well-​organized walking tour of the downtown area, where we checked out a variety of different neighborhoods and housing options within my budget. Jamie was full of information about his own experience living in the area and recommendations for the best options for me. He even shared some local secrets, including the best hole-​in-​the-​wall lunch spot downtown.
Now in the process of deciding which place to move into, I have only been met with additional information and encouragement – zero high-​pressure sales. Working with Jamie was more like meeting a new incredibly helpful, genuine friend. Laid-​back, outgoing, enthusiastic – Jamie was the perfect introduction to San Diego and totally sold me on my decision to relocate.

First off, I appreciated Jamie’s willingness to help. It was my first experience with an agent, so I had no idea what to expect. I wasn’t working with a huge budget: $ 1300 a month for a one bedroom (this is important, considering I haven’t seen any amounts in previous reviews). Unfortunately, I didn’t meet him in person but he was GREAT over the phone. The next day, he showed my partner a couple properties in Bankers Hill (under the flight path) for $ 1450. These didn’t work out so he said we would keep looking. Unfortunately, I was on a deadline and I didn’t hear anything else from him. After five days, while still looking on my own, I found a one bedroom for $ 1025 in North Park (below University). I let Jamie know, to which he apologized for not finding anything. I can understand his position, wanting to help someone like me on a budget but this is San Diego lol. Go to him if you have a little more time/​money to spend than I did. I was just really lucky to find what I did. It’s not an easy job ;)

My wife and I had just moved to the area, and we wanted to find a place to rent quickly. We found Jamie on Unilocal,took a chance and called him, and are very happy we did. He took some time to get to know us, listened to our requirements, put together a list of potential matches, and personally took us to look at all of them over the next couple days. We decided on a great little townhouse, Jamie facilitated the lease signing electronically, and we moved in the next day.

Feeling frustrated in my attempt to find a suitable apartment for my daughter, whose employer is relocating her from Louisville to San Diego by November 1^st, I turned to the internet to see if SOMEBODY OUT THERE could help me.
I live in Long Beach – close, but not exactly a hop, skip and a jump away from San Diego. Our plan was to check out the internet listings, then I would make the drive to San Diego to look at apartments on my daughter’s behalf. It was a seemingly simple task that, after about a week and a half of perusing the internet, became quite stressful. My daughter had researched San Diego and had some very specific ideas about what she wanted and could afford (a walkable neighborhood, close to the park, preferably in Hillcrest.) She and I were finding very little inventory available that met her criteria. (Did I mention her two little dogs???)
I decided we needed to work smarter instead of harder. That’s when I started looking for «a guy» instead of apartments, and low and behold I found Jamie Pullman — Downtown Condo Guy. I immediately gave him a call and we agreed to meet in San Diego three days later.
Jamie swung into action right after my call to him and contacted my daughter in Kentucky. He asked for her list of particulars and walked her through the application process. He provided her with a common application and other pertinent documents. All of this was accomplished via cell phone and email.
To make a long review short, Jamie lined up four apartments to show me. The second on the list met our criteria in every way. Because the manager was a little concerned about the dogs (which didn’t surprise us) it took a bit of patience and skillful negotiating. In the end it all was accomplished and my daughter will move in November 1^st. Jamie has handled everything. I did not have to return to San Diego to do a darned thing. He provided the application fees and deposits and we are still awaiting his invoice. He did it all and completely eliminated our stress!
I found Jamie to be up front, honest, trustworthy, and a lot of fun! Do yourself a favor and call him. You won’t regret it!

In March, I was notified that I had been hired by a company in Point Loma and quickly needed a place to move into. I had been going to school and living in Los Angeles for four years and had spent most of my time there. Knowing very little about the San Diego area, I began searching for an apartment. Even though San Diego is a small city, it can be a bit overwhelming if you’ve never been there and my search soon grew out of hand. I moved from Ohio to San Diego and at first tried to find a place on my own. I was not successful and called Jamie in a pinch. The next day he had planned out an entire day of showings and by 5pm we found the perfect place!
Jamie takes the time to understand what you are looking for and makes sure you are truly happy with your decision. Between showings he walked the neighborhoods with me pointing out local restaurants, new construction projects and places he thought I’d be interested in.
He is well connected within the rental property space and has a great reputation. He is not your typical «pushy» then unresponsive real estate agent. If I could give Jamie 6 stars, I would. Not only did Jamie find me numerous options within my area and price range, he also gave me all sorts of information on my prospective new neighborhoods. He is one of the most genuinely friendly guys you’ll ever meet in your life, think James Marsden in his most gregarious roles. He is also someone who you can tell truly wants the best for you and views your interest in the neighborhood as an opportunity for your growth as well as that of the community’s. Ultimately, I ended-​up finding a place a bit on the outskirts of town on my own, but Jamie was extremely gracious and, as such, I count him as a friend and will surely use his services when I move on to buy my first home in San Diego next year.
