Justin’s Bar

Great bar in the heart of Gaslamp. Deep, top shelf scotch collection, including Oban 16, Glenlivet 18, Mccallan 18, totally FREE! All Justin (the owner) asks in return is your loyalty and friendship for the foreseeable future. One weird hiccup was that they didn’t have the Oreo desert pizza on the menu. Apparently, they order it from Dominoes, but were surprised to find out that it doesn’t exist anymore, what… Not enough of a problem to stop me from coming back!

I’ve been a long time fan of Justin’s bar and let’s just say this review has been long overdue. All I can say is «wow!» Great company, great beer, great board games to play and great music all run by an awesome owner (that would be Justin) and amazing bar wench (DENISE). This bar is always a fun place to hit up first before going to other bars in the gas lamp area. It’s a quaint little bar, seating area and sports bar that’s always clean, always invites friends and never has a long line for the bathrooms. Justin’s bar has any kind of beer you could imagine whether it be pumpkin beer or bud light, Justin’s bar has it.
And also what people may not know about Justin’s bar is that sometimes it functions as Justin’s hostle for out of town (ie you live in PB) friends. Twice I found myself drunk downtown and unable to drive home and Justin and Denise took me home and put me into bed (Denise even gave me sleep clothes!!!) for a full nights sleep. Then the next morning Denise ever so softly knocked on the bedroom door to wake me up. But that’s not where the surprised ended… oh no. Then they took me around the block to this amazing breakfast place (luckys lunch counter) where I was fed the most amazing breakfast. And Justin (being the great host of Justin’s hostle that he is) even told me about how to get free coffee at luckys. In conclusion, Justin’s bar/​hostle is a great hole in the wall place to get beer and possibly sleepover in downtown San Diego. And also, if you’re lucky enough Denise will make you your very own plaque (and you only have to wait 13 months to get it made)

I’m a long time follower of CrizzleChris… he tours the country as a guest mixologist and his creations are completely off the chart (top of the line ingredients and precision technique). I really wanted to find this place during my recent visit from the Bay Area to San Diego but the location is so exclusive I wasn’t able to find it. Four stars for the hype, will try to allocate more time to finding it on my next trip down. CtizzleChris! Come back to the Bay! We love you!

Whoever cleans this place is phenomenal! And it always smells so wonderful with at least 3 delicious candles burning simultaneously! Highly recommend!

This place rarely has bud light but it does have a good beer selection. Btw it’s bad that it doesn’t have bud light cause bud light is good.

Beer and Bumbles! What more could you ask for?
