Local Photography Classes specializes in online and local photography courses and workshops. Our students have requested for years the option to watch and learn photography at their own convenience online. But they understand that they need the hands on training with an expert photography instructor to really take their photography skills to the next level. Local Photo Classes offers you the ability to watch any course you want to learn online and then regular photography workshops locally to fit your schedule. This way you can learn at home when its convenient and then get the expert hands on training for what you need to work on most in your photography.

History

Established in 2009.

LocalPho​to​Classes​.com was created to build a community that improves and educates photographers. By offering both online and offline courses that coincide with one another you are able to experience hands on learning with a local expert then come home to watch follow up material at your convenience to keep you fresh. Currently there is no solution out there that combines both online and offline education with similar content covering the absolute basics all the way to running a successful business. We plan to be the go-​to resource for online and offline education for anything photography related with 100,000’s of people benefiting from our content all over North America.

I just completed a class on Lightroom offered by Rob Nadrew of Local Photo Classes. The experiential teaching method, completeness of instruction and small class size made for an exceptional session. Rob knows all aspects of photography computer processing very well and has a nice, gentle, and humorous approach to teaching. I learned a lot and will definitely take more classes from this group!

Being able to teach means you have a solid foundation of what it is you’re teaching. Local Photography Classes possesses this quality and it’s been awesome to learn and nurture my photography through their program.
There’s a wide variety of classes to fit most every genre of photography, as well as, skill based classes for beginners, use of flash, night/​lowlight photography, action/​motion, and several others. The classes include informative notes, lectures, and hands on practice time. The staff members run their own successful photography businesses in addition to instructing. They’re all knowledgable and very patient in their teachings. The owner, Jason Kirby, is also a great photography resource and supports and guides so many of his students.
After taking several classes, I decided to invest in my future and learn the ins and outs of operating a successful photography business. Great photography is one side of the equation with business operations and marketing being the other! This lead me to their Professional Photographer In Training Program. Combining the business training program in addition to the extra photography classes, I’ve gained invaluable information to run my photography business.
If you’re looking for a supportive community to begin or enhance your photographic knowledge and creativity, Local Photo Classes is where you want to begin!

Awesome place to learn photography people! These guys get it! Jason and his team of «Local Photo Classes» instructors know more about photography and have more passion teaching others than any other instructors I have studied with to date. I love that they offer a free Photography 101 class to get you started allowing you to get a good prospective on their teaching style before you commit. Their «Meet & Critics» have also challenged me to step up my game in this industry.
I also love that Local Photo Classes offer additional classes for those who want to learn more — including Flash, Portrait Lighting, Action/​Motion Photography, Adobe Lightroom and lots more. Each class is taught by the pros in their field.
If you enjoy learning photography in a fun, energetic, interactive and supportive environment, there’s really no other place to look than Local Photo Classes!
I look forward to my next class which will be Flash 101. I know I will leave that class with a much stronger understanding in how and when to properly use my flash, and like always when completing a class, I will have more confidence in using my gear. I strongly recommend Local Photo Classes for all your photography education.
