Maguire Properties San Diego Tech Center

I have been with my company that’s located here for five years (I don’t think it’s under Maguire anymore — I forget who), but it offers a lot for its location. It’s within walking distance with a lot of decent eats, the coaster, lots of transportation, and Karl Strauss (which seems like everyone loves — I mean, who could beat that koi pond?!)
I love the fitness center though I know larger companies also have their own facilities. They recently upgraded the fitness center so now every machine has their own TV and other nifty advance features. They also offer free classes and it can vary depending on interest — from boot camp, yoga, tennis, hip hop, volleyball — just a great variety of classes. A lot of employees in the area also roll out the ping pong table some afternoons after signing up with the office (at the fitness center).
I usually use the room to do yoga with my other coworkers and that works out really well. During the summers I like using the pool, and it seems like it’s really improved (and the temperature is correct) since they last made some major changes to it a couple years ago when it was shut down for a period of time. It’s a small lap pool (nothing compared to a few other company facilities I’ve been to), but I’m glad that we at least have a lap pool! The aerobic room and the pool is closed during non business hours and on weekends. And, I agree with the first review — the showers are pretty great. I like the foaming soap as well — don’t have to worry about bringing my own.
And, if you just want a break from staring at your computer or co-​workers all day long, you can always head down to the Japanese gardens and walk a few rounds. It’s beautiful with great shade, and being gravel, gives a pretty good work out for your legs if you’re not too active.
All in all, great location and facilities, not much to complain.

Similar to the review before me, my company just moved into this place. This facility is amazing! I don’t ever want to move out. It’s difficult, however, to utilize all of its facilities, but I try to use the gym at least. Having Karl Straus right next door is a huge plus also.

My department just moved into the Sony area of the San Diego Tech Center and it is huge step up from our old location. The «Tech Center», as it is called, has a pretty respectable on site free gym, basketball courts, pool, sand volleyball pit, and showers. There are also free gym style classes every day, ranging from yoga to strength training to dancing.
The showers are great too. They have foaming soap in all of the shower cubicles and it rules. I’ve found myself showering at work more often than I shower at home.
If you want a work place where you can easily stay in shape– the Tech Center is it!
