Metro Flooring

Came here today to look at some hardwood flooring. I Can’t remember the salesman’s name, but I was pretty clear to him from the beginning that I was looking to do a floating installation of a light colored engineered wood. Although I could afford a glue down installation, which is generally considered superior, I probably won’t be at my place more than a few years and didn’t feel like spending too much. The guy gave me a dirty look and said that I might as well just install laminate instead and that engineered wood should only ever be installed by glue down.
After that the salesman wasn’t helpful at all with regard to helping me look at some samples that suited my preferences. Based on his body language and mannerisms, I got the strong impression that the guy had judged me and wanted me gone. I promptly left. This was the only flooring store where I didn’t even bother asking for pricing on material or labor.
Worst customer service ever.

We had an excellent experience with Metro and couldn’t be happier with our new flooring. A few things that set them apart from the two other flooring companies we considered — they were highly recommended by our neighbor who’s floors looks amazing and our interior designer; they’re a local family owned business — it’s always nice to keep $$ in our community; and they’ve had their Miramar storefront for many years so I felt like if we had any issues in the future, they’d be there to help with warranties or replacement stone.
We actually had some manufacturing issues with the carpet — not Metro’s fault — and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. I think they’ve been in business so long because of their focus on customer service. These guys really believe in making sure the customer is happy — all along the process. We were really impressed — they went above and beyond to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted. They also installed stone flooring in our first floor and it’s gorgeous — beyond what we expected. You’d never guess we replaced our floors — the workmanship was impeccable. Highly recommend Metro Flooring!

I have been referred to metro by my mom she recently had her whole house done by metro and she was so happy with them. Upon arriving I was greeted by all sales associates. I did read some of the reviews saying they won’t help you if your not dressed top notch, I went in looking a step above looking homeless and still was treated great. I would recommend them for your floor needs, you get what you pay for.

You are judged as soon as you walk in!
I never asked about financing as I was paying cash, but was told several times of how expensive the laminate I choose was. In addition, I wasn’t aloud to take a sample home. Instead the salesman offered to come to the house with the sample as long as I commit first.
WTF!!!

Metro flooring offered a high quality laminate flooring product that we are very satisfied with. The installation was promptly scheduled and completed. The design associate/​sales person David was the highlight of our experience. He made several separate trips to our home with samples and even returned after the instal to check on the final product. He was professional, personable and knowledgable. Thanks David.

Excellent service and great prices!
My wife and I recently bought a house and came to Metro Flooring to replace the old carpets. They were very courteous and helpful in getting us to choose the best carpet for our budget and also to accommodate the style of carpet that we wanted for each room. The installation was quick and on time, so that we had new carpets when we moved in.
Later on, we had a pipe break which damaged the kitchen and living room floors. We went back to Metro Flooring and got quotes from other companies as well, but Metro Flooring was again the best for our budget. They helped us pick a beautiful laminate flooring that really enhanced the look of our kitchen and living room. They were very thorough and looked at the colors of our walls, furniture, and kitchen cabinets.
Once again, installation was quick and easy for us, especially since both my wife and I worked from home. Their installers were very mindful of being quite when we had conference calls and also came back later on to finish a few details that they mentioned needed finishing (we didn’t even notice!).
Overall, great service, vast selection, and great prices. Would definitely go back for our next project/​repair.

Had some very complicated contractor related installation issues come up and was blown away by the customer service and patience of the people in this branch.
Bruce handled literally every single element of the process fairly, and fought on my behalf to get the situation rectified. I can’t say enough about his customer service ethic.
Would return there in a heartbeat for future flooring projects because I know that if anything goes wrong (and something always does with renovations)… he will take care of it completely.

We came to Metro Flooring after visiting several flooring companies. We were happy with our wood and tile selection and help from sales team. We were also very pleased with floor installation and progression. Installers were very professional, hardworking and true craftsmen.

Would rate lower if I could. Walked in and the first question was, where do you live? I get that while doing yard and home upgrades we are not in our business best, but still, treating a customer like they do not matter based on where they live is just out of line. Then when we mentioned that we came over because the big box places do not have what we are looking for… The response was; we are very different in price and quality than them. Ok dude, we get it, you think based on how we look that we are broke. But sorry to tell you we can afford your tile! Very condescending sales. So, if you are going over here make sure to dress to the nines and role in Vegas style (note no valet at this fancy tile store) and be sure to tip the dude with his nose in the air. Sell on salesman, sell on! Btw Arizona Tile has the same looks and products for half the price.
Thank you for the kind gesture and quick response. My wife took the picture since she felt so pressured and just wanted to try and make the situation better. We have ordered the tile elsewhere and will move on. Thanks again

Was really disappointed
We called & asked what time there open till. The lady said 5pm
We rushed off & got there 20 till & all was locked up like they were expecting us & had more important things to do … Well your not the only carpet store in town … You just lost my business …

Owner of the Store called me and apologized for the way things were handled. He says he’s working hard to streamline the the way they communicate with the customers. I suggest they send out daily or weekly emails (depending on the job size) as to the progress of the project. And appoint one person as the customers project manager whom which the customer can address concerns too. I greatly appreciate the owner calling me and I want to stress the point that the flooring looks great and there installers did a good job. I would recommend them to others, they are good people and a family oriented company.

If I could, I’d give zero stars. Came in to find a match for my flooring and price out others in case I couldn’t find a match. This tall female salesperson was not welcoming at all. I felt more of an inconvenience to her and she frowned the whole time. Within a couple of minutes with her lack of customer service skills, I already got turned off with this store. I don’t want to give my business to somebody who is not interested in making business.
In response to Bruce: She did try by showing me a couple of samples but I didn’t see the excitement in helping me that you were referring. When I go to a place where I know I’d be spending a large amount of money, I at least want to deal with a friendly face. She was not rude, like I said, she just seemed disinterested.

Came here about a month ago to get an idea on materials and cost. We just bought our first home, and we’re really excited to redo the floors — until we came here. It was memorial day weekend and the entire store was empty. Spoke to a sale associate who told us we couldn’t afford what we wanted (we didn’t even tell her our budget, she just assumed). She went on to show us cheap laminate. When she asked what we were planning to do inside the home, I began to tell her when she cut me off and started telling me what I should do because she was «an interior designer». She also told us the incorrect order of how to redo our kitchen, which was disproved by numerous contractors and other companies. Then, she pressed terribly hard to get us to buy that day, knowing we were still in escrow.
Obviously we never went back, and don’t plan to. I know we’re a young family, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know what we want and have a proper budget for it.
I completely understand why they were empty that morning.

We have a very active lifestyle with young kids. The team at Metro helped us pick out carpet styles that would look good and would wear well. We are two years in and our carpet looks as good as the day that they installed it.
They recommend an engineered wood for all of our bedrooms. It has been a great help for our allergies and has worn very well.
We also have tile downstairs. We thought that the tile would have to be ripped out. Bruce noted that the tile could be professionally cleaned and sealed and would look brand new. We hesitantly followed his advice and are overwhelmed at the difference that his recommendations made (and our savings).
From our first step in to Metro to the post install follow up, the Metro team knows how to go above and beyond to satisfy customers. Thank you Metro team!

2^nd time coming in four years and still terrible service. Very rude. Red headed sales person upset we came 15 minutes before closing and told us what we could and could not afford

We love our new carpet from Metro! While we had a minor issue with the initial install, I was impressed by their effort to correct the problem, and we couldn’t be happier with their service and final result. I particularly appreciate Bruce’s effort, and while no company is perfect, I can see they really try to improve.
I think Metro has great selection and service at a fair price.

I love it here… They installed my carpet last year. Love it. This year, we had tile flooring and backsplash done by Metro as well. I never feel peer pressured into anything. Tammie helped us out. She was awesome. Love her input on things and also helped us design the backsplash. I highly recommend working with Tammie. Harold is awesome as well! He came out to check up on things and to deliver paperwork for us. Our carpet started coming apart at the stairs and Harold got a hold of the installer to come out right away to fix it. Nothing but good experience here! Keep up the good work guys!

Hurrah for Customer Service
It’s nice to know in these times of lack of, or NO customer service that there’s a business that actually cares. We bought carpet from Metro for our new house almost three years ago. We picked the carpet because it was so deep and soft — people in our house commented on how exquisite it felt. We stayed in love with it for about a year, when we noticed it starting to break down (lose it’s loft and not recover).
We tried lots of vacuuming, carpet cleaning, etc., but it seemed to just get worse. At the 2 ½ year mark, we called Metro. They asked us to send pictures, then had a manufacturer rep. come to the house a file a report. We were saddened to get his report, saying that this appeared to be «normal breakdown from wear.» We thought that would be the end of it.
Surprisingly, the guys from Metro called us to say that they felt the wear was unacceptable and they would go to bat for us with the manufacturer. About a week later, we got a call saying, «Come on down to the showroom, and pick out your new carpet.» They took out all the old stuff and had brand new carpet that we’d picked out installed. We know there is no way this would have happened if they hadn’t gone to bat for us. Thanks, Metro, you guys are the best!

Worst experience ever. Was met by an older sales lady today (don’t recall her name) and she was reasonably aggressive in her approach. I don’t fault her because that is her job but my preference is to have some more space to breathe. She tried to qualify our budget, which I don’t currently have because I am trying to determine what I like best for our new home rather than limit myself with a strict budget. She then assumed that we could only afford lower priced items and advised us that the wood flooring we were looking at was in the $ 10-​$ 20 per sq ft range and we should not be looking there.
Needless to say, we walked out. What a dumb mistake on her part. What is that saying about judging a book by its cover? Lost revenue for the company and lost commission for her. Too bad because they had a nice selection.

We just purchased a home and are in the market to buy laminate floors, carpet for the bedrooms, and tile for the kitchen and bathrooms. When we walked in, we were met with a sales associate (named Dave?) — my first impression was that he wasn’t happy to see us, it was like I was already taking up his time. We explained what we wanted to look at and after listening to us, he asked us what our budget was. Since we have been to a few other places to look at laminate floors and get estimates, we said that we were thinking that about $ 3500 would cover the ~700 sq ft. He then proceeded to tell us (rather unenthusiastically) that for that price we’d get poor quality laminate floors and that we’d have to spend more on it – uh ok, well we’ve done our research, and it’s not like he provided more details or showed us any products.
He asked us what we wanted to see first, so we went over to look at tiles for the kitchen. It didn’t seem like he really cared about us very much. He led us to the wall where they have sliding samples of tile and told us to take a look. I appreciate that he gave us the time to browse, but really it also felt like he dumped us there and left. We looked for a bit and got an idea of what we liked, but there was no one to tell it to. He didn’t give us his business card, he didn’t ask for our information — apparently he doesn’t need our business, and he just didn’t care about the customer. Well, we walked around and walked out the door because there are other places that put their customers first and show genuine care.
It looks like Metro Flooring has a wide variety and various samples to look at it. Not that I looked at everything, but I did notice that their store is pretty large — it has tile, carpet, hardwood, and everything in between. This might be a good place to look at things and get ideas, but I certainly wouldn’t buy from here, poor customer service. Sorry I came in today, and you’re welcome, I won’t be coming back.
