History

Established in 2013.

Mod About You started in Little Italy offering vintage Mid-Century Modern furniture, pottery, and accessories. We later expanded our offerings to include candles, design books, and glassware. As our business grew, we added children’s books, gifts and apparel. We recently moved our business to Mission Hills and we couldn’t be happier with the support of the local and neighboring communities.

It has been a very exciting journey to offer an eclectic shopping experience to San Diego. My appreciation for the aesthetic and vibe of the 60’s and 70’s has inspired me to curate the collection at Mod About You. Dream catchers, macramé plant hangers and California pottery were the back drop of my childhood home in Mission Hills. Sergio Mendes, Dusty Springfield, and Petula Clark playing on the Magnavox console was pure magic.

The icing on the cake were the glamorous PSA «Stewardesses» who would parade through our house on a daily basis. They were stopping in to pick up those fabulous red, orange, and pink uniforms, go-go boots, and hobo bags. You see, my mom designed those sassy uniforms for those glamorous ladies who flew on those planes with the smiley faces.
