Payless Shoe Source is the place to go if you’re looking to add another… loop on your laces, ha! This location is across the Sports Arena stadium and is bigger than most stores. Like all Payless Stores, it’s very easy to navigate and kept clean. The selection is decent and you are paying for what you get for. Do not come in shopping with the expectation these shoes will last you more than a year of normal wear and tear. I did not care too much for the customer service. Though it was professional and polite, I would not expect much help other than being rung up. I went in when there was only one other customer in the store and was never acknowledged. I would recommend a little more recognition or sincerity when talking to customers because I almost felt like I was at memorial service. Overall, if you’re looking for cheap shoes, then Payless is a good place to go and this location is convenient if you’re shopping in the area.

Something very weird going on at this store. I went in twice in one week, 4 days apart. There are two guys there and they say they can only take cash. Their system is down. 4 days later they can only take cash again, system is down. Not going back! This is the payless at Rosecrans.

I REALLY love shopping at Payless… I do! It has the all the specific sizes I need for my whole family!!! I have small feet and I love that it has my size since I have a hard time finding my size at other shoe stores. I also love that it has my husband’s size 11 «wide» size. The«wide» sizes they carry really sets Payless apart from other shoe stores because that’s been a struggle for me to find. They also have wide sizes for my toddler, so Payless really is a one-stop-shop for my family :))) And when they have the BOGO sales… ohhh my goodness… I’m in heaven!!! I’m always warmly greeted when I come to this store. The manager is very nice and helpful. When I don’t have time to go to the store, I usually order my shoes online at and it’s free shipping if you spend over $ 35 or you have the option of shipping it to the store for free. This is convenient because I go to the store to pick it up and if it doesn’t fit, I just return it right then and there. I find that the shoes only last for a few months, but hey, for only $ 10-$ 30, I don’t mind that it’s not the best quality because they look stylish anyways. I would rather purchase 3 – 4 «cheap» shoes at Payless every few months for the same price as purchasing one«expensive» shoe.(Unless you’re talking about a pair of really nice boots… I go to Nordstrom Rack for that, lol).

I’ve purchases reasonably priced shoes at various Payless and been satisfied. The customer service you get is better than any other higher prices retail chain. Morgan, the young lady who took care of my exchange was professional, polite, and very sweet.

Why’s Payless got horrifying reviews? It’s not so bad. I have noticed a steady increase in price over the years, and it’s not dirt cheap like it used to be, but there are still plenty of great deals. I always get my running shoes here. The champion running shoes are super soft, comfy, and well-ventilated. Today, I got some awesome 4 inch black faux suede heels and another pair of blue faux suede wedges, buy one get one half off. This place can be a real hit it or miss, but I still find some pretty cool shoes here every once in a while.

It works if you need a pair of cheap black pumps in a pinch, but their selection si completely hit or miss. They have Airwalks which is a bonus, but their heels used to be super cute and now they look like military issue heels that only a grandmother would wear. If you need cheap flats or sneakers hit em up, if you need a boring pair of heels for work you may find something, but don’t come here anymore lookin’ for super cute.

I walked in and my nose was greeted with the smell of cheap shoes. That is ok. cause I was not expecting the smell of genuine leather. After all, it is Payless Shoes! BUT… BUT they do not need to tag each and individual shoe! The security device was punched through the shoe! Therefore damaging the product and to me that is a «no sale.» The clerk was nice and friendly by greeting me on the way in and when I left she wanted to make sure I found everything ok. I do not think I will be back to a Payless any time soon.
