Based on Unilocal review I brought my car to Promasters. Max is down to earth and easy to work with. I’ll bring my car to him first.

I brought my 7 series here for service. It was a very smooth process. No up sell or any other nonsense; just what was needed and nothing else. Highly recommended.

My Prelude needed a new radiator, and all of the positive feedback on Unilocal brought me to ProMasters. Max is very pleasant, he is honest, and most importantly he is a professional who does great work. He completed the job very quickly and thoroughly. I will definitely go back. Thank you Max.

Needed an oil change and smog completed in a short time. I headed over on my lunch break and was out in about 40 minutes. They were quick, great and didn’t try to sell me on things I didn’t need. Definitely will go back.

Max is a great mechanic who did outstanding job fixing the breaks on my S430. Something that the dealer could not accomplish after 2 tries. Did other projects on my car with equally solid results. Great prices and high quality work. Thanks Max!

Max is a really great person to work with and an honest shop owner. My serpentine belt broke on my trip to SD. At a first glance it looked like I would also need to replace the tentioner which would be a more expensive repair. However after doing some work Max was able to find that only the belts needed replacing and did not charge me for the unnecessary repairs.
Since he knew I wasn’t from sd and needed my car he also prioritized work on my car so I could be on my way sooner.
He is highly recommended and I would bring my car again. He and his team have earned every star.

I had a great experience here! I got a smog check and an oil change and they showed me things going on with my car and should concern for things that would not done properly prior. Often times being a woman and getting your car worked on can be a headache because shops try to take advantage (not knowing that this woman worked at a smog shop for 4 years and a transmission shop for 2 years) of lack of knowledge in this arena. I would highly recommend anyone with a European car to come to ProMasters. Thanks guys for being honest, affordable and efficient, much appreciated!!!

Truth be told, I actually went to get my smog test done at Miramar Test Only Center which is next door to ProMasters Automotive, but they were filled up and there was no place to park. I saw a sign at ProMasters that said they do smog testing. I parked in one of their designated spaces and walked up to Max and asked if they do smog tests and he said he could do it right then and there. 15 minutes later, he was done, the certificate had been transmitted electronically to the DMV, I paid the charge and I was on my way back home. I would not hesitate to come back to ProMasters for future testing. This was a very positive experience.

Ive heard many nightmare stories about people getting smog checks at less than reputable places and being charged a ridiculous amount of money for the check and repair. When it came time for my smog check I searched Unilocal for what I would hope would be an honest business. I came across Promasters automotive as one of the higher rated smog locations in my area. I showed up without an appointment but Max greeted me and told me there would be a short wait. While waiting an emergency situation popped up and I informed max I would need my car and would have to reschedule the test, he told me he could have my car checked and out of there in no time. He definitely delivered and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. Great price, and service

I found ProMaster’s via Unilocal 2 – 3 years ago and they have become my go-​to repair shop for major and minor repairs on my Mercedes and my family fleet of Honda’s. I would characterize Max and his work as honest, fair, and thorough.

Amazing Unilocal reviews brought me to this shop. I came in without an appointment for a smog check. Max squeezed me in and got me out of there in less than half an hour. I also just got a holiday card from him. I will be bringing my car when it needs work… great guy, great place.

My boyfriend went and got a quote to get his brakes fixed at a place that exclusively fixes brakes etc. and they quoted him $ 200.
So he went and bought the part ($ 15) he thought he needed for his back brakes, so he could attempt to fix the problem hisself. My dad, who takes all if his cars to Promasters, offered to pay for the fix as long as my boyfriend took his car to Promasters. So we set up the appointment for the next Saturday at 8am. Come to find out the other place was trying to do a bunch of stuff to my boyfriends car just to be able to charge him an arm and a leg for the job. Promasters didn’t even need to use the part that my boyfriend bought, which he ended up returning, and was able to get his brakes back to perfect working order for less then $ 75. We love Promasters and will never take our cars anywhere else.

I needed a smog check for my work’s company cars. I arrived a minute before closing, but Max had no problem accommodating the service. That left a very good impression on me. I plan to bring the company cars to him for any maintenance or problems.

I give him the perfect 5.
Max’s a great guy besides being a honest and reliable mechanic.
I have taken my BMW Z4 regularly to him for service. Recently, my engine went bad due to overheating and i bought a used engine online. Took it to max and he did no less then perfect job with the engine installation. He saved me quite a bit of money as well on top of doing a great job with the engine.

Max the owner is like family. My girlfriend used to live in the same apartment complex as he did years ago. I only take my BMW to him.
He is HONEST. I cannot emphasize how important that is, particularly in the car repair industry. I trust him and on top of that he is a great person who is fair and reasonable.
I recommend all my friends to him. We take our other cars to him as well. If you want quality work done on your car German or not, you’d be foolish to waste your money elsewhere. The dealership will charge you triple or more what he would and Max has all the right equipment to do proper maintenance and repair.
Beyond this he goes far above what it takes to make sure your car is at its best on the road. Peace of mind for quality work is what you get when you take your car to Pro Master Auto.

I have been coming here for a couple years now. I found Pro Masters on Unilocal,and it is very close to my house. I live in the UTC area. I have a Mercedes C class.
I have had bad experiences in the past with people trying to oversell me on things that were not necessary for my car.
Max is very honest and will tell you if you need something or not. One time I was told from a tire shop that I needed some major work done, and Max checked it out and told me I didn’t need anything and to save my money.
I am thinking about getting a new car soon, and I will definitely be going here for everything!

Max is an honest person and a professional one. I always had problem with my previous Mechanics charging me too much and my car was not fixed at the end. Maybe in first glance he charges a little more but his work is so reliable and it is worth it

I had read the positive reviews about this place, so I decided to check it out myself. Max is probably the last honest auto mechanic in San Diego. Thank God for him :)
The Mercedes dealer had told me that I needed new engine mounts, two new rear tires, new transmission mount, and a transmission fluid service. They wanted to charge me something like $ 2700 for the whole thing.
I called around — my wife’s mechanic (he specializes in Toyotas) knew a friend who worked on Mercedes, so I went with that guy — but he kind of charged rip off prices on the tires, and he actually told me I didn’t need to replace the engine mounts. Strange, since my car definitely felt like I needed new engine mounts…
I called RB auto, and they wanted to charge me something like $ 1000 for engine mounts and transmission service. My wife’s friend recommended Minsky’s auto repairs, but they wanted $ 470 just for the transmission service alone.
Bottom line: Max charged me $ 320 out the door for the Mercedes transmission service, whereas other guys around town wanted $ 375, $ 470, and the dealer wanted $ 550. He finished the work in 2 hours, and next week, I am going back to him to get the engine mounts done, since he is at least $ 200 cheaper than anyone else. His honest reputation precedes him, so I don’t need to tell you what a great job he does. Trust is key in any relationship — he has me recommending him to all my friends already.
