My girlfriend came across this store on Craigslist and On Facebook and they had some unbelievable prices. The previous reviews are true: You have to call and set up an appointment to meet up with Dave. We met Dave and he was a very nice guy. He has a different sales approach, very aggressive. This isn’t the type of furniture store where you can walk around and browse. This is the place you go where you want to get something NOW. My gf got a sectional for $ 700, which is double the price at most stores.
As far as the negative reviews, ignore them. If you are in need of furniture and have the money right then and there, they you are in luck.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Rude people. VERY BAD FURNITURE! Actually ended up buying furniture from here and 1 month later EVERYTHING IS BREAKING. 2 chairs from the dining table are broken. Couch is beginning to rip. Both end tables have both had broken legs. This place is terrible. Worst $ 900 I’ve ever spent. Stay away. The ads on Craigslist make it seem like it’s good furniture at a good price. BS.

I got some good furniture here, but it was an incredibly stressful and weird experience. I saw an ad in Craigslist, and was attracted by the modern looking furniture. You had to book an appointment, which was weird, but I thought well maybe it’s like a warehouse or something. I checked on Unilocal just was we were pulling into the place and was freaked out by the reviews.
When we got in there, the owner was friendly, so I thought maybe everything would be fine. I made sure we said we would buy things on the spot though because of the reviewers who said they came back and the price had changed. When he said something wasn’t in stock, I was really worried because I thought he wouldn’t deliver the item, or would say it has increased in price. (Everything actually turned out okay in that regard).
I could tell he was sussing us out for price, and quoting based on our reactions. I wish I had played it more cool because I am sure we could have gotten better deals. I was rushing around the storeroom looking at things and buying things up. Then all of a sudden, he said we had to leave and basically pushed us out the door. It was really weird. As we were leaving I could see the next appointment arriving.
Regardless, I do like the furniture we bought very much, but I was SO stressed out by the experience. I also hated second-​guessing that we could have gotten better deals if we had appeared different to him. What a weird way to do business. SOOO strange and unnecessary. Very unpleasant overall.

I called this past Monday inquiring about a RECLINER priced at $ 148 on craigslist. A man named Dave says, «stock will be available Saturday.» I call him on a Friday to confirm. He sounded flustered for whatever reason and texts me a website asking to provide him with a model #. I send him a picture with all of the information. Half an hr goes by and I don’t get a response from him; I call him back and he says the picture was too small. I thought to myself, «Was this guy going to call me back to let me know that?» In this nasty tone, he said the piece of furniture was $ 188 and I questioned him because he said it was $ 148 days prior to that. He then yelled, «ARE YOU GONNA BUY IT?» I was thinking to myself that I’d like to check it out and approve first. Before he gives me the time to respond, he just HANGS UP!
I found this person to be extremely rude; I would gladly pay more elsewhere than to have to deal with unethical and unprofessional people.
You can’t expect too much when you’re dealing with furniture brokers who bit off more than they can chew by leasing a warehouse and not having enough funds to cover their own overhead, which is why they only schedule appointments because they can’t afford employees! As I have aforementioned, I would GLADLY pay more to avoid this way of business.
AVOID THIS PLACE. Trying to save yourself a few dollars will only be a hassle if you’re dealing with people like Dave.

NEVER shop at Room Source Furniture on El Cajon Blvd. Low prices and deceivingly awesome furniture… By appt only, showed up after two weeks of waiting because he was so busy and only open on weekends for appoints. Liked a couch and dining table, and before I could say I’d like to purchase them, the guy kicked us out and said he had another delivery. I said, but I have an appt and we would like to buy, and he said appts are only ten minutes and if I wanted it I should call him next weekend… He also inquired about our weight because his dining chairs only held people up to 150 lbs. My fiancé is well of 6ft and definitely more than 150 so we only had a choice of one kind of dining chair. Needless, to say, he lost our sale and respect! Letting everyone know what a horrible experience it was… AND he lied and said his couch was full leather and it definitely was not! Shady, shady people! I ended up at Cash and Carry in El Cajon and left with a full living room and dining set with much better quality, service, and prices!

There are businesses that aspire to be more, and they do so successfully via a well thought out marketing plan. San Diego is home to a plethora of successful businesses… Room Source Furniture isn’t one of them.
From there limited selection of «quality» furniture, to the pretentious suggestion of sale by appointment, you can get a better deal from the nearby bead store.

All of the reviews are right. I tried calling Dave and he said he can’t do anything for me unless I am ready to buy in two days. I wanted to look at the furniture he has and make a delivery for two weeks in advance and he said there is nothing he can do for me right now and call back two days before I need the bedroom set?

Unilocalers beware. «Dave» has to be the worse owner/​salesperson ever. —- if you read my reviews and I start my Unilocal like this it was BAD!
He kicked me my sister and my brother out and we drove 40 min just to see his place with an appt. We asked him once to lower the price on a sofa set and he didn’t like it and told us to leave. And that was after he insulted us and said that we were to heavy for the couches. We are pretty and plump but not big to break a couch.
he is the only person who works there and its a big place that you have to go in by an appointment. it seems like a cover up. who dosent want to sell couches in a furniture store

Wtf by appointment only?! That is what the guy said when we called about hours of operation. We were in front of the store!

This place is not worth your time or money. I went here trying to buy a sectional and I found one I really liked, I asked the guy how much it was and he said $ 240. I came back a few days later to show my mom and the price had changed to $ 380. He then told me that it was sold along with every other item I asked about. He said he would be getting a new shipment next week which wasn’t true. This guy is extremely rude and kicked us out of his store because he had to leave. Shitty customer service don’t waste your time or money on this undeserving business. They need to learn how to treat people.

This store carry a very good selection and for low prices, but they have to learn how to treat a customer, i would suggest Mr. Dave to learn some customer service skills. He is very rude while talking to a customer. For the same piece of furniture he gave different price quotes, and started yelling over the phone when called him to follow up (this is nothing to do with credit check or anything). I recommend TJ furniture or Home furniture which are a mile away instead of stoping by at this place, they atleast know how to be polite.

Pretty cool new furniture store. Their mission? Room Source Furniture has a mission to provide the top quality furniture for the lowest price to the San Diego community and beyond. They are also brave to move into that spot in the corner of Loma Shopping Square. Let’s see – I recall there being a mattress store, bead store, jewelry store, an empty store and now this furniture store trying to make a go of it there. So good luck with that.
Furniture, mattresses and home accessories are sold at Room Source. They will meet or beat any competitors price and have been in business for over 25 years Some of the furniture they sell is not my thing but then they also had good deals on things like futons and bunk beds. The only problem here is the store looks pretty empty with very little «furniture» in it at all. I cannot figure out what is going on. I looked for the security guard that roams around the shopping center to ask and he was no where to be found.
For now, it is «A-​OK» that Room Source has come around. But they need to bring some stuff in to sell, if they want me to bump my Unilocal stars up!
