Rosey Dog Care provides care, comfort, and compassion for your dogs when you can’t! Whether you’re working long hours, headed out of town, or require support to give your dog the exercise he or she needs, Rosey Dog Care can help! We offer the physical activity, love, and attention that your dog needs to be the best companion he or she can be and we provide you, the owner, with the support to set boundaries and expectations for your relationship with your animal to create the best life possible for you and your dog.

Located in the center of San Diego, in the UTC area, Rosey Dog Care is setting a new standard for dog care in your neighborhood. Serving your dog care needs during business hours or overnight, your dog will love our «camp» style services including walks in Doyle Community Park, playing fetch, listening to music, and snuggles on the couch.

Rosey Dog Care was founded by Rosey Zhao in 2012 when a love for dogs turned into a career move. Rosey and her staff love dogs and are passionate about taking care of them. They have experience with all breeds of dogs with all sorts of physical and behavioral concerns and honestly believe there’s no such thing as a «bad dog.»

Presently, Rosey and her staff have two in-​house dogs. Happy is an energetic boy with a comical personality. Happy requires walks of two to four miles a day and he still has the energy to fetch and chew his toys. Coco was Rosey’s second dog adoption. After a serious health scare, he was diagnosed with a very expensive allergy including a food allergy that requires him to be on a special diet. He’s a sweet boy with a sensitive soul.

In caring for other peoples’ dogs, they hope to pass along their love, compassion, and knowledge to help the dogs and their owners fully enjoy their life together!

Rose has been doing an amazing job of taking care of my dog since my dog was 5 months old. As a first time dog owner, having a dog was a bit more overwhelming than I anticipated. Yet, Rose provides me with a lot of information about basically everything from types of food, snacks to activities for my dogs and grooming. Speaking of grooming, my dog used to hate it so badly, and every time I tried to clean her ears, she screamed like i was trying to kill her. It was very stressful for me. But thanks to Rose, she taught me the right approach and energy when cleaning her ears. She practiced with me for a couple times until I was comfortable doing it on my own. Now, my dog is perfectly fine with grooming.
Rose has been giving my dog daily walks twice a day. And the great thing about Rosey dog care that bigger pet boarding business won’t be able to provide is that it’s flexible and personal. She will try her best to accommodate my last minute request. And every time i have question about my dog, she can always answer me quickly.
She definitely makes my life a lot lot easier :)

Rosey Dog Care was a life saver for us upon our move from Chicago to San Diego with a toddler and 2 golden retrievers in tow. We were desperate to find a boarding facility that would accommodate our 2 beloved large dogs upon our arrival in San Diego (via car, after 4 days of driving in the August heat through city and desert), prior to our goods arriving via moving van and our lease starting in University City. Unlike many, many other San Diego dog care businesses that I called from Chicago, Rose was the only one that took pity on our situation and offered to take our 2 large dogs into her house for an entire week (this was after we thought we would only need boarding for 5 days, and then our movers decided not to show up until 4 days later)! While services like hers are available by the handful in Chicago, what I found is that in San Diego, pet home sitting is more the norm. Well, what happens when you do not have a home? Our dogs needed a place to live, and Rose took them in, sight unseen (other than some photos over email). We received regular texts and updates on the dogs health and well being, and when we picked them up at the end of the week, the dogs were happy, healthy and looked (and even smelled!) great. No complaints from me! Rose was integral to our move to San Diego. We literally could not have done it without her. Thank goodness for Rosey Dog Care!

We used this daycare service for about a month and stopped. While it was convenient and Rosey is knowledgable, we were unhappy with the experience. First the daycare is run out of Rosiey’s house, which is fine, but you are not allowed to come to the door to pick up your dog or to even examine the premises. Also, it was not clearly communicated that Rosey would only be with the dogs 50 percent of the time, the other times with whatever family members are at her house.
It was also never communicated what the dogs did for the day, how much they ate, how often they pooped or played at the end of the day. She asked us to text her mom when we were ready to pick up our dog and she would be brought outside. Our dog would come home with high energy (which does not happen now that we have switched daycares and we know she is being thoroughly exercised). Also, while our dog was in her care, she developed some bad behaviors such as going to the bathroom in our house (our dog is fully potty trained and hadn’t had an accident in about 4 months). These accidents have stopped now that she is at Run a Mutt.
We expressed these concerns to Rosey and asked her how she planned to fix them. Her response was defensive and full of excuses and without giving us an opportunity to think about it for a day she quickly responded (her actual email): «Thank you so much for your support so far. After much consideration, I decided that it will be best to help support you in finding Pepper a new home. When you pick up Pepper today, my mom will have everything ready and return your key to you as well. Good luck in finding a new boarding facility. If you are in a pinch you can feel free to call me, but I think it’s best for you to find a permanent solution.»
We have switched to Camp Run a Mutt and are happy we did; it’s a well-​established business and everything about their care for our dog is flawless, unlike the experience we had with Rosey’s daycare.

Hands down, Rose is the best doggy day care around! I don’t know how she does it but our dogs and super-​stubborn cat immediately bonded with her. Now when they see Rose, tails wag and the excitement begins. When picking them up from a few overnighters, they are in high spirits but exhausted from all the walks and playing with other animals. I can’t say it enough — give Rose a shot and you will see how different she is from the other day cares in the area. You won’t be disappointed!

I found Rosey Dog care on Unilocal! (This is actually the first review I am writing on Unilocal). Thank goodness you all wrote about her services! Rose is terrific. Her dog care services are top notch. My dogs are 10 yrs. old and discerning in who they want to be around. They were all over Rose from the minute she walked in the door. That put us at ease immediately. While we were away, Rose kept us updated on their activities and behavior, which allowed us to relax while we were away knowing they were in good hands. We have used Rose’s services twice now and on both occasions, we returned to happy and relaxed dogs. Thank you Rose!

If you ever ever need someone to care for your dog… no one would love your family member better than Rose! She is not only reliable, she’s someone who is dedicated in caring for your loved one while you can’t!
Service:
I heard about Rosey dog care through a friend, hesitant, I brought my attached yorkie to Rose. She was nice enough to meet him at no charge! They got along great! So to test the waters I left my little boy there for a 3 day weekend. And when I saw him he was happier than ever. That’s the most important part… to make sure he was safe and loved. I don’t take my little boy anywhere else if I’m out of town!
Cost:
For a price you’d take your doggie to a kennel you get a better deal at Rose’s!
Overall:
Why take your dog anywhere else? When they can receive personal love and attention.
Tender, love, and care for your loved doggie = Rosey dog care!

rose took such great care of my lando while i was out of town for the weekend! he’s hypoglycemic so he has to eat a small snack before he goes to bed otherwise he might get sick, and rose was totally able to accommodate his weird «feed him 3 times a day with this this and this» diet. she sent me updates to let me know what they were up to and i definitely knew he was having fun the entire time. :)

I used Rosey Dog Care when I was gone for a work trip from July 11 – 17 2012. I was very pleased with the depth of her experience with dogs and her willingness to do the very best for my pup while I was gone. She spared no expense and even emailed me throughout my trip to check in and let me know what was going on with Lily. She is extremely good at knowing what dogs need and providing a very high level of personal care to them. She even cooks meals from scratch for them! When I returned to a happy and healthier pup than before I left, I was very happy and could not imagine having anyone else watch my girl from now on.
