I left my beloved ’99 Yukon with Adrian after the tranny started slipping. When I got it back at the promised time and at the promised price, the truck ran better than ever. Adrian is honest, prompt, and very knowledgeable. This is the kind of business I grew up, and it’s the way it should be: a real tradesman who takes obvious pride in his work — not some huge, corporate «service factory».
The clincher for me was that he told me to bring it back so he could check it out, keep me on the road, and happy with his work. Highly recommended!

This man good my transmission in my clutch and I never got my old parts as I requested the guy doesn’t even have a license to operate. According to the BBB. My cars clutch went out two years ago I don’t know what junkie put in the car but it’s not drivable right now. I will never go back to this man

In October my transmission when out completely in my Hummer H3. It was a Sunday and there where no shops open. I didn’t know what to do, so I went online and looked for a transmission shop and found Ruffner Transmission. I gave Adrain a call that Sunday at 6 pm and he surprisingly answered the phone. He told me to bring the car in right now so that he can diagnose the problem. At the shop, he confirmed that the transmission went bad and would let me know more details the next day. The following day, he discovered the root of the transmission failure – an oil leak directly on the transmission. He sent me a picture of the inside of the transmission – the oil had charred the inside of it severely.
He fixed the transmission in a couple days because I also had some upgrades done to it. Now, my car runs faster than it did before and I am very happy with the service. In fact, I just took my Lexus SC430 in for the 60K service and when I got it back, it was running like new. The thing I like about Adrian is that he keeps you updated on what is being done to your car, why it’s being done, and other options that you may have. Besides great customer service, his prices are very reasonable. Adrian is now my new mechanic and I will refer him to all my friends and family.

Adrian is a very smart, kind and fair man whose knows his business. I had been without my car for 2 months due to transmission issues. and everywhere I went charged me sky high prices to get it fixed and they couldn’t guarantee how long that warranty would last.
I was referred to Adrian by a family friend and I am so glad to have met him I appreciated that he took the time to explain to me what was wrong with my vehicle and how he was going to fix it, He ended up rebuilding my transmission to ensure a longer warranty.

I’ve sent women to Adrian and he always came through at minimal cost. They felt comfortable around him. He’s taken great care of my friend’s Honda Odyssey and F-​150. Wish I would have had my clutch done by him.

Adrian is amazing! I was having shifting problems and know very little about standard transmissions so I began by feeling nervous … And stupid. But he explained everything, showed me graphics and how things worked and what needed fixing. He couldn’t have been more accommodating, making being without a car for two days a breeze. I felt he was completely honest, everything was done on time and all was fully explained to me. He made me feel like part of his family!

Adrian, owner, serviced my car right. He told me it’d take about an hour. Knowing how car places are, we expected it to take 2 – 3 hours. Well I’ll be darned… he called in about an hour just like he said. Plus he showed me the work that he did, and was upfront and honest with me. I’ll be taking my car here from now on for anything transmission!

He had the best prices and warrantee I could find by far! And he towed my car for no charge. Turned out that the parts I needed were on national back order, but he still got it done in a week. Look no further if you’re having car troubles. This guy is legit.

I called to make an appointment for an automatic transmission service on my 4×4 truck and talked to Adrian. He said if I could bring it in soon he could get right on it. So I did and we took it for a test ride. I had noticed some of the shifts were kind of slipping. He noticed it wasn’t to bad and said if it was worse he would recommend not replacing the fluid since it could make it worse. So I got the service and he showed me the residue in the pan and the filter and said I could keep on driving it until it gets worse before having the trans replaced. Not pressure to get it done right now at all which I liked. Then after the service we took it for another test drive and on the way home I noticed it was shifting better. I will probably be going back for the transmission rebuild if I keep the truck.

Great place and great value! I shopped around for a fully complete tranny redo and not only was Ruffner Transmissions the least amount of money, but they also dis extra work like adding gears to allow it to work better with my heavy wheels and tires I have on the truck. I had 175k miles when I took it in for the repair and after a month now, the truck still drives like new. The owner gave me a few free services so he can keep an eye on everything. Glad I found this place and highly recommend it!

Adrian was very knowledgable, polite, and professional! You would think these big shops would be desperate to hire him. He explained everything in detail, he even listened when I said I was particular about my truck putting in a paper mat to keep it clean.
He did everything he could to make me comfortable with the work to be performed and I would definitely visit him again!

We’ve been dealing with Adrian even before he opened Ruffner Transmissions. He rebuilt my Yukon’s transmission with a great Warranty. I now take my cars and friend’s cars here for any mechanical repairs.

I am a local business owner and I have had Adrian work on my personal ford 7.3 transmission and a couple of our larger delivery box trucks here. We are Maurice and Christina Malone and we needed help desperately. We have a 2004 Saturn Vue that had lost its transmission on my wifes way to work. I called alot of transmission shops that wanted outrages prices with and didnt seem to really care about our financial situation. I found Ruffner Transmission on the internet. I went to meet at his shop in person. I told him my wife wouldnt make it till 45 minutes past his closing time and he stayed open and waited on my wife to deliver the car. It stalled several times but barely made it. He went throught the process of explaining exactly what parts he would be replacing and if anything else he would notify us first. He rebuilt it in a timely manner and gave us a 3 year warranty and he actually worked with us because it was an emergency situation. He didnt upsell or replace parts that we didnt need ., We would definetely advise everyone to go to him for transmission work. also while talking to him he explained that he does all automotive repair not only transmissions. I have a big 2000 Dodge diesel 2500 4X4 with almost 130,000 miles on it. A month ago the automatic transmission started to slip as I was going up a hill. Nooooooo!
I drive large vehicles for a living so I went to my work’s mechanics’ shop to get some professional input. They were unanimous that Ruffner Transmision was the place to go. They had many horror stories from other places from over the years. «Adrian knows his stuff», was the word. So I went.
He checked out the truck, explained what was wrong (front band broken) and gave me options. Because I load a camper, he recommended that I beef up the transmission. He showed me the kit and the upgraded torque converter. The price, though steep for my budget, was $ 1000 less than Aamco or Rapid, and he gave me a three-​year warranty, unlimited miles within that timeframe. I agreed, and he did the work in 2 days. I visited twice while it was underway and he showed me all the old parts and what he was doing. He was always accomodating. He gave me a box of the old parts that I wanted to have my mechanic buddy look at.
I have waited a month to write this review while I tested my transmission. So far it has been flawless. I will update it in the future if there is a problem.
In summary, I highly recommend Adrian at Ruffner Transmissions, especially if you have a diesel.

Although he did sort of forget to attach some sort of tube onto something else which made the car die on my drive home… but he tows for free if you spend more than $ 1,000 on services. So he came to pick me up and fixed the problem.
