Steve and his partner were fabulous! I had no idea he could use my existing cabinet boxes and make them look like brand new cabinets for so much less than actually getting new cabinets! Steve was extremely sweet to work with, and was very patient with me. His craftsmanship is superb, and there were no unexpected fees or surprises. He also redesigned my ugly kitchen light and made it beautifully recessed. I would recommend Steve to anyone looking to reface their cabinets! He is the best! Thanks so much Steve!

Steve and Edgardo did a fantastic job on our kitchen cabinetry. Steve’s price was competitive and the job was done in the time promised. This review is at least four years overdue, but is well-​deserved nonetheless. I hired Steve to do some renovation work in my kitchen shortly after buying the home in late 2009.
Owner Steve Fisher replied to my initial inquiry right away. After taking some measurements, he quickly assembled a detailed and competitive quote, which explicitly stated all the steps of the process.
Steve completed the following work for me:
–Ordered and installed customized new cabinet doors and drawer fronts, along with refacing the boxes of the existing cabinetry with matching veneer
–Installed a fume hood that we had purchased
–Lots of drywall repair work on the kitchen walls and ceiling
–Installed six recessed lights for the kitchen, which required some impressive maneuvering in the attic
The whole project was done in about a week (I remember thinking it seemed fast), and the final amount I paid was exactly what was shown on the initial estimate.
I could not be happier with the finished product. His precision craftsmanship has stood the test of time and looks as good as the day it was installed.
Steve has a full contractors license, which is kind of unusual for somebody who specializes in refacing. But that makes him extra-​qualified to do lots of the miscellaneous tasks that accompany a kitchen renovation.

Doesn’t return calls — Doesn’t care? ! I guess business is so good he doesn’t need to return calls from prospective customers. I called three times and emailed once over the course of a week asking for a return call to set up an estimate. Once hit his cell phone and he brusquely said «I’m driving!». I said, «no problem, just call me later when you aren’t». Never heard back. Is this some occupational M.O.? He is the 2^nd vendor in this trade channel I’ve encountered lately that seems to regard poor customer service and zero follow up as normal business practice.

I had no idea where to find a cabinet refacing company in San Diego before I searched Unilocal.I was reluctant to even hire Steve because I had no idea the craftmanship and/​or attention to detail this project required. Once I chose him for the job, they got the work done in less than a week. Steve kept me in the loop with all facets of the project and even though the costs were higher than anticipated, he was willing to work within my budget.
The finished product was great and I would definitely hire Steve and his team again. If you are looking for an honest man, that maintains integrity and pride in his work, at an affordable price, I would highly recommend hiring Steve.

We hired Steve out of about 4 companies we contacted. He was the only one who followed through with a comprehensive and affordable quote for us. Steve and his partner Mark, were prompt, professional and did a wonderful job of refacing our bathroom vanities. They look like something out of a fancy hotel and we keep going back into the bathrooms to gaze at how great they look! We recommend Steve and his company to reface cabinets and will definately use him again.

I have not actually worked with Steve, however I did call to offer him the possibility of several jobs in San Diego. He was very rude and hung up on me when we were figuring out payment details.
If this is how he conducts his business I am happy to say that we will NOT be using him for future projects.

Our horrid old cabinets were absolutely transformed by Steve at San Diego Cabinet Refacers. I got exactly what I wanted all the way from door style to color to cabinet configuration. Steve and his crew were delightful to have working in my home every day, and what could have been a horrid inconvenience was actually a pleasure, and we were sorry to see them go when the job was done. The work is so beautiful that guests don’t believe me when I tell them the cabinets were refaced, not replaced. I had a lot of ideas I wanted to implement, and while others told me they were impossible, Steve just made it happen. When I’m ready to tackle the cabinets in other rooms, I won’t even bother to call anyone else.
