The Mission Arbor Apartments

I can’t wait to move out of this place. Management increased the rent $ 50 and then started to charge for utilities which is $ 120 for garbage and water. The funny thing is that they did this the day after there was a shooting in one of the apartments look it up naked shooter mission valley. There was 50 cops and some crazy robot that went into the house. My family mom and dad were staying for the weekend and it was scary for them and my kids. The one good thing I can say is the manager is really nice and handles any problem that why It took me a long time to write this review. I just think its crooked to charge apartment renters trash and water when there is forty plus units and one meter. I would look for a different place that won’t stick there hands in your pocket.

Out of honesty and fairness, let me just tell you that I lived here in 2006 – 2007, and I don’t know if management is the same or not. When I was there, the on-​sight manager was a gay Indian guy named Cande, who was always up in everyone’s business. Normally, I’m a stickler for rules being enforced, but dude was ridiculous. I remember once when my roommate moved out of state and couldn’t pay rent before she left and I couldn’t pay rent on time — I explained the situation to him and told him I just didn’t have an extra $ 600 and I needed an extra week. I get that it isn’t his problem, but even though he knew what was going on, he waited until I came home one day, the ran out of his office and over to my door, where he proceeded to ring my doorbell for a good ten minutes. «…Ding…ding…ding…ding…» — you get the idea. I didn’t answer the door. He knew what was happening, he knew I wouldn’t have the money then, why keep harassing me about it?
Another issue was the pet deposit… many people had pets there, such as birds, toy dogs, etc., but when I tried to put a deposit down on my rabbit, I was told the only pets allowed were cats. The other pets weren’t being hidden, and I know he must have heard/​seen them.
Good things about management was that the grounds were always clean, the pool was well maintained, and the maintenance guy was really great. Once I bought a wire shelf to install above my sink and he offered to do it for me. He also let me borrow supplies to paint over a few spots before I moved out.
The apartments were pretty roomy in size and the kitchens have a lot of cupboard space. The apartment we were in had two bathrooms (one in the Master) and lots of shelf space.
Location was awesome for me — one of my jobs was directly across the street — I could walk out my door, across the street, down some stairs and into the back of my workplace. Schwwwwweeeet. It was also near a bus stop and an amazing taco shop on the corner of Vandever and Mission Gorge. There’s a Vons on the corner that you can easily walk to. The neighborhood just feels safe — we went on many runs at night and never felt threatened.
If I was in my own again and could afford it, I’d live here again in a heartbeat.
