— how is it that our «Sewer, Trash and Water» bill goes up in the winter Months
— my apartment occupy didn’t increase!
— how is it that we pay these expensive rates, but they can’t afford to keep the cable on in the gym???
— oh and if you are going to have guest over, have them «Über» unless they want to walk over 100 yards just to get to the front entrance, that supposed to be gated to prevent non-​residents!!! Parking is worst than parking downtown San Diego!!!

My wife and I have only lived here for a few weeks and have nothing but good things to say about all the staff and the community in general. When we first came to tour the community, Chris welcomed us with a big smile and any fresh drinks we needed. He showed us the exact places we wanted for our price range and was not pushy or disrespectful what so ever. He was a huge factor in us signing our lease because of how great he was! We moved here because of exactly what is offered. A gated community with multiple pools, hot tubs, bbq’s, outdoor fireplace, gym, track, bar and lounge area. On move in day we were greeted by Madison who made our welcome that much better. Just like Chris, she greeted us with a smile and coffee! She got through our paperwork quick and showed us our new home and answered all questions we had! Lastly is the maintenance/​security, everytime we have had a question or needed something done they have been to our home immediately and quickly and always ask how you are and if they can do anything else. The staff has been outstanding and we absolutely love it here! ALSO! Reading previous reviews I was a little skeptical but realized most of the negative reviews were partial stories and simple complaints that shouldn’t have been posted.

I have already had my car towed once and the security guards are threatening to tow my car again. Despite all the security, this is not a safe community to live in. $ 1,000 of items (camera for work) was stolen out of my truck and many of the other people that live here have told me they have had their cars also broken into. Also it is not a safe place to walk around at night as a female alone.

Been here for about 3 months, been ok. But now I am concerned with residents complaining about cars being broken into. Has me concerned enough to check on my vehicle 2 – 4 times a day.

Okay, so I’ve only been here since December 4^th. Really disappointed because there have been several car break ins. There’s an issues with the security, they are not really making sure that people coming to the gate are really suppose to be in here. They are building new mailboxes but they really need to put cameras up in the garages to catch who is breaking into cars. On another note the amenities here are amazing it really is like being at a resort every day. They have multiple food trucks that come in every week, the pools are gorgeous, and the area is always kept clean. Just get the thieves under control and it would perfect.

The auto reply was cute. No further solutions were ever presented. They just «waited the weather out». I moved here from a lower income part of town where we never had problems with ants crawling out of our walls. Or the amount of black widows I have found in and around my apartment. I’m seriously dreading the moment the weather heats up again here.

We’ve only lived here for about a month but so far everything has been great and we haven’t experienced any of the complaints I’ve seen on here. Maintenance always comes right out the next day and fixes anything broken. They even fixed our toilet seat when they were there for shower maintenance call. We were extremely appreciative. Since we only have a one bedroom we were actually very happy with having the option to pay for a second spot. Most places don’t offer that for one bedrooms.
I’ve never had any problem at the pool. I see security walking around but they’ve never bothered me.
The only downside I guess would be the gym. It’s an awesome gym but not enough plates for everyone to work out.
12/​20-​Super disappointed in the lack of holiday decorations. I really thought it would be more into the season with at least some palm trees with lights. :/

Living here for a year now, counting down the time we have left.
It’s a beautiful place, but waste of money & a headache to deal with the employees in the residents office.
No one is on the same page with the community rules
It is advertised as a gated community, but I was just told by a person in the office that it is not (ok?)
We were told to register every single one of our visitors, either online or on a $.99 app, you can choose if u want to be notified when u register and/​or when your visitor arrives at the security gate (FYI I was also informed by the office that the people at the gate are not actual security guards & they just manage the parking around the community) either way, I don’t always receive a notification when my visitor arrives & I’ve had visitors let into the community without them being on the list as an allowed visitor.
What if they’re not on there because of my safety? What was the whole rule about registering our visitors made for? Why give the option of being notified if we’re not going to get notified? If it’s concerning parking, shouldn’t only registered visitors be allowed, so the people that are not allowed won’t take an extra spot? If it’s not a gated community, why have a gate at the entrance that only residents can open? Why have people with shirts/​jackets that say security if they’re not security?
So many rules, yet the people that are «enforcing» them are not following them.
And why register our cars to u guys as well, when u guys will end up towing them away without notifying us or at least giving us a heads up before you do? And when we complain, the employees in the office want to say that they can kick us out in 3 days?

Such a beautiful community ruined by the people who work in the residents office.
Maintenance staff probably has better customer service. (Thanks guys for always being awesome)

I moved into the Village in October and have nothing but positives to give the property and the management here:
–My move was coordinated long distance. Chris Meehan sent me pictures and asked me the right questions to get the best floor plan to meet my needs and my budget. I love my new home.
–Move in was flawless… paperwork in order, clean, no pest issues (I’m pretty clean and wash as I go) Not even outside so far!
–I had my first maintenance emergency last night. I received a call from Scott the maintenance manager to let me know they were running behind and someone was on the way. They arrived when he said they would… as well as cleaning behind themselves.
–Security is tight. My guests are always reviewed at the gate to ensure they are on the guest list.
–The property is immaculate with gardeners and staff cleaning and pruning constantly. Amenities are like a 5 star resort with food trucks, auto detailing, movies, classes, a clubhouse pub with multiple tvs to invite your friends, cabanas, and beautiful views of Mission Valley.
I’d highly recommend this property to friends and family.

This young man has patience, very informative, excellent customer service, personable, honest and has believability. No I am not a friend or family member, or getting paid.
I went in to check out currently what they have to offer in amenities, apartment openings and prices.
This «Resident Relations Rep» can top any leasing agent in surrounding properties. He is an asset to any company.
If you want someone to grab you for just the commission ask for Stacy… if you want someone who truly loves his job and finding your perfect home ~see Michael.

I have been living at this complex for about 3 years now. I will say everything looks good on paper and it does look amazing. When this place was La mirage it was nice. Rent was affordable and this place was still had nice management and the folks that worked here were very nice and relaxed. Also not to mention that if you have a 2bedroom you got 2 parking spots. Now you have to pay for the other one. Now that Irvine came into the mix it couldn’t of been any worse. Management is completely disrespectful (not all of the people who work here are rude), they really will tell you one thing to your face and go behind your back todo it the cheapest way possible and do a half job at that. They really don’t care about your convenience. The townhouses Appliances are made of cheap material, (supposed to be a multi million dollar renovation, they just removed old cheap stuff with more new cheap stuff). So alot of things will break here and you can scuff up stuff very easy which then that goes against your deposit, they’re screwing you in multiple ways. The maintence here is sub par, they are very nice, but they’re work quality is horrible. I had a hole under my sink where they forgot to patch it up when they (renovated), had a skunk in my place it sprayed and they didn’t even wanna fix it. Tried blaming me for their negligence. How they fixed it, they hammered a Piece of plywood over the whole and called it good. Furthermore they want a new vibe at this place, a family vibe. They have people doing drugs in the pool area. I woke up today to go to my truck and someone threw trash bag on my truck with pumpkin guts on it. Like come on. Is this what I pay $ 2400 for? The security here is a joke, people’s cars are still broke into. They hassle you all the time at the pool vice worrying about your belongings. I have seen the DEA here for drug busts. There is always construction going on for the past year and a half. I am not allowed to fly American flag above my door. I would not recommend this place to anyone! I can only have a two plants on my patio. You can have no privacy, so if you want to put up a bamboo fence to keep people from looking into your place they’ll evict you for that, the village calls it clutter.
In conclusion this place has great amenities but the people who work here, construction, maintenance horrible work, joke of a security, and a huge bug problem is not worth a bar at the pool. But that’s my review. Hope it helps, have a nice day. I would give this place a half a star if I could.

UPDATE: Thank you to Stacy at the resident services office, she is assisting me with this matter and has been the only one to be helpful with trying to resolve this issue, as it is clearly not my fault that the processing center has not received a mailed payment.
Horrible! Absolutely horrible, if they discontinue you ability to pay online for your rent, you have to mail it to a PO Box in Los Angeles. Not only do you have to mail it to Los Angeles but that payment processing center has to process it by the 3^rd day of the month for your rent to not be late. Additionally it does not clear onto your rental account until that check clears theirs. So guess what, you are screwed if it is not processed because if they give you a 3 day notice it goes to legal and then they evict you. It’s a fricken monopoly. They are high cost and do not care about their residents. They just want their money. Even if you have proof of payment they don’t care!

Well… If you enjoy BASS Dropp’n at 2am, people throwing up over the balcony, Dogs barking, beer cans/​ping pong balls in your landscape, epic car alarms and literally being in the show cops. The Village is «a place to love where you live!» Not family friendly, sleep friendly unless you’re a vampire. Oh wait stop the track… stop the track… I forgot about the beautiful musical score of construction at 7am –Sorry True Blood…
We Literally had 3 different kinds of nightmares above us in less than 1 year… But the real cherry on top was the exit. Oh yeah. There’s no way you’re seeing 1 hot cent from your deposit. In fact you will owe money… #WINNING
Recap– this place is great if you like to spend money, and have a literal destain for peaceful sleep. Beware If you’re single and wanting to mingle the guard at the towers will let any of your friends enter with a pre-​approved online form… How romantic and fun!!! Spontaneity is really for the worst kind of people. I’m waiting with baited breath for the canned staff heartfelt response.

Finally done with this shithole! The whole leaving process was worse than the move in process. We set up a walk through for the 7^th at 3pm. No one ever showed up, we went to the office and they said soneone would be right over. 20 minutes later they arrive, do a 5 minute walk through and said we will be doing a full paint, full clean and full carpet clean. Mind you i moved in after they evicted someone and the walls were scratched up. I reminded them of that but they say they don’t have paperwork on it. When we moved in MacKenzie had us fill out paperwork 3 times because she kept losing things. They also delayed our move in because of the bugs in the fridge which MacKenzie didn’t note so to hear that they can’t find the move in paperwork isn’t surprising. Our place was not dirty by any means, a carpet clean is probably the max they need to do. But they have a bulk contract rate with a cleaning company so you might as well not clean on your way out because regardless of them spending an hour cleaning or 15 hours the price is still the same. Mind you we pushed our move out date into 2 days because they decided to reasphalt our parking lot from the 8^th to the 12^th and we couldn’t hire someone to clean the carpets due to this. Be prepared for them to keep at least half your depositn regardless of how clean the apartment is when you leave. THANKS IRVINE COMPANY!
We turned in our keys today… had an appointment at 3. They weren’t ready, we waited for about 15 minutes while they grabbed a form for us to sign. They asked for our new mailing address, why do we full out that information on their website if they make you do it AGAIN in office? The whole residential office is always losing papers, making you fill out redundant forms and they have no idea what’s going on.
Also the corporate office wrote me on Unilocal saying they’d be in touch with me about all my reviews but that was 4 months ago and I still haven’t heard from them so CLEARLY THEY DON’T CARE!
So happy to be out of this place!!! NEVER AGAIN IRVINE COMPANY, NEVER AGAIN!
Update…
They called us a week later to ask if we were going to turn in our fobs, keys, parking pass and transponders, we told them we did and even filled out the paperwork with one of their representatives. Guess what THEY LOST THE PAPERWORK!
We got our deposit back and weren’t charged for the missing items. We were charged for cleaning even though that place wasn’t dirty. C’est le vie at least we’re out of there!
Lol they also like to delete the pictures I’ve posted of all the water line breaks and text messages about our water being off CLEARLY they have something to hide from you prospective tenants

This place has been the worst. If you want and unfriendly staff and to be Nickel and dined for amenities like the pool. Outrages monthly rent. Then this is your place…
My car was vandalized and broken into.
Not for families with kids. Pets r aloud but with additional pet rent.

BULSHIT!!! They opened a café inside the community and now the residents are not allowed to bring their own alcohol… If you want to drink U MUST BUY from their café! This is the only place in SAN DIEGO WHICH WILL NOT ALLOWED THE RESIDENTS TO FEEL FREE IN THEIR OWN HOME

Really??? Your records show that my carpet was new??? So… you have a lease in your records that was signed by Ms. DimplesM? What a joke!!!

Jonathan helped me, he had amazing customer service. He humored my million questions and showed me places until I was satisfied. He made sure to go over all the amenities and answer even the weirdest of my questions. Not to mention the move in incentives are pretty stellar right now.

Just got a renewal, in 2013 paid $ 1655, 2014 $ 2055 and now for 2015 $ 2655!!!
Where else is the rent percentage going up this much this fast? To pay for bottom level bulk remodels?
You want people with expensive taste and high wages to live here? Don’t design the kitchen drawers to not open past 60% before it hits the oven door! What a joke. This is in more than a few units i’ve been in and it just simply looks silly when you look at the cost of these units.
The towel rack and toilet paper holders are the bottom level supplies you go to the closeout store to find. The ‘fake chrome’ chipped off on the first week. No we were not overly anxious to rip our towels or TP off the roll, just poor, poor quality materials being used. SEVERAL water damaged units, contractors apologizing to us neighbors for remodeling the same units 2−3x.
Also ‘Fetch Dog Park’ was supposed to open in Winter 2014, not 2015, and I run the permiter and whole area many times and can not even figure out where they would be putting said dog park. No clear plots or any area that looks like it is going to be a park.
DO NOT BE FOOLED by the beautiful offices the leasing company works in or the pre-​furnished apartment hotel room they show you, that is where they house the tenants that are out of their house for water damage! Have you ever heard of a paper tiger?
If you value your money and no one is paying your rent for you do NOT live here, or rather please don’t let them pull the wool over your eyes — look at the things you will use and see day to day. Literally the only drawer that is made for silverware or untensils does NOT open past 50−60% before it hits the oven, that is absolutely trashy for a place that upped their 2bdr rent $ 1000 in 2 years.\
I do not want to be contacted by these Village People or Irvine people. I honestly can’t wait to give my money to ANYONE else but this place. I don’t care how much landscaping you put, a wig is a wig.
