Specialties

We offer art classes for adults and kids of all skill levels (age 7 and up). No experience necessary. Classes range from color theory to plein air paint-​outs, theme sessions to independent programs or private appointment. We provide workshops and art camps for kids year-​round, including seasonal school breaks. Also, we are proud to be the exclusive San Diego art gallery exhibiting original oil paintings by local artist and instructor Concetta K. Antico.

Established in 1995.

We feel fortunate to have provided art instruction to thousands of students over the last fifteen years. Art is not just a fun creative outlet but it’s therapeutic and magical as well.

Concetta A.

Business Owner

A highly successful contemporary impressionist artist, Concetta’s work is present in many public and private collections across the U.S. and internationally. A respected teacher, she has taught oil painting in San Diego, through her Salon of Art Studio, since 1995, to 1000’s of students of all ages.

She is a member of The International Plein Air Painters, The San Diego Art Institute, The California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, The Southern Californian Plein Air Painters Association, Plein Air Painters Association Of San Diego, Oil Painters of America, The Art List and the Australian Plein Air Artist Group.

I started taking classes with Concetta Antico back in 1998 when the Salon of Art was known as Art Tours. I thought I was just signing up for a couple of fun art classes for some added recreation. Little did I know that I’d still be taking painting classes with the same instructor more than a decade later. Painting has changed me in so many ways. I’ve been able to foster a wonderful talent, and have had numerous professional art shows. More importantly, I am able to see a brighter and more colorful world. Much of my success has been due to the disciplined, yet supportive instruction from Concetta Antico. She is incredibly gifted in her instructional methods. And even after all these years, I am continually «wowed» by the masterpieces that are created by newer students. I have been witness to so many of those beginning students who also still keep coming back for more. If you have a yearning to feed your creative soul, and the willingness to take on some new challenges, I highly recommend that you try the Salon of Art. It might just change your life. It certainly has changed mine.

I have been painting at this art salon with Concetta since 2003 and love it! Her salon is filled with tons of loyal students and there are so many classes and options to learn to paint and improve skills. The classes hold about 10 students and she gives group and individual instruction. She is a brilliant teacher — very insightful and encouraging. She offers classes for beginners with no experience and helps even the most amateur artists into wonderfully skilled painters.

If you’re looking for serious fine oil painting training, I advise you check the salon. It offers a small class format and interdisciplinary studies to broaden art knowledge and approach. Classes fill up quickly, so you might have to register way ahead of time. It is definitely worth the wait as Concetta is a great instructor.
