I have been a loyal customer using Thomas & Bros for auto service on many Hondas I owned. Wally is one of the best he knows his cars, long experience.

Try them out on an oil change it will be fast (20 – 30) and without out all the pressure to have service you may not need at Quick Lube places.

Hit a block of wood on the freeway that destroyed the undershield. Pulled into Thomas and Bros. Wally lifted the car up, checked it out, and took the time to remove the shield for me. Didn’t charge me and friendly service. Thanks Wally

Called to get an price for an oil change and asked for him to hook up a scanner to see what codes are showing up. They said that’s an automatic $ 90 charge. I laughed and immediately hung up. If a shop is going to gouge that bad just over the phone, I can imagine what «problems» will pop up when you actually bring your car there. Buyer beware!

There is nothing better then to find a fair and honest car repair shop. My Acura has 175,000 miles and on my way to 200 thanks to Wally. He has done my valve cover, breaks and now I’m here for ignition prob. This is by far the best in town. Fast and fair! Thanks Wally! Hope he stays open for many more years to come.

Arrived to do a smog for a 78 El Camino and left because they could not do smog for a car that old. Only new cars at this place.

Wally is the best! He is an honest mechanic full of integrity. We have taken all our vehicles to him since 2005 and never regretted it.

Over the holiday I learned that my sister had been driving around for months without a working driver side seatbelt– the buckle had become jammed. This was not acceptable so we headed over to the Mercedes dealership to get a quote to have it replaced.
The quote for labor ONLY was $ 290 bc the entire seat needed to be removed to replace it. We decided to wait and call around the following day to see what other people were charging.
On a side note, both of the inside door handle pulls (the thing you grab to pull the doors shut) were broken as well. We already had all the parts (door pulls and seatbelt buckle).
She called around and a lot of places were less expensive than our 1^st quote, but some refused to work on a Mercedes. Then we were fortunate enough to get in touch with Wally at Thomas & Bros. He said we could bring it in the following day.
THE TOTAL FOR THE BUCKLE REPLACEMENT WAS 95 DOLLARS!!! That’s near 200 dollars cheaper than our 1^st quote!!! In all the entire job (buckle, and the 2 door pulls) was $ 185. Everything is fixed and we saved a ton of money.

Took my car in on 8÷5÷14 asked him to look at the car, kept it the whole day and stated that yes it was broken but he couldn’t fix it. Fine I took it somewhere else an it was just an Ignition Coil. Why are they mechanics if they can’t fix anything? All I can say it wow, just wow. Really not sure how they got all these good reviews.

This shop is GREAT! I can’t say enough about Wally and his mechanics. Our mobile service vehicle was making a horrible noise and these guys fixed us up in no time. Not only are they awesome mechanics, they are also friendly and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this shop.

I’ve been using Wally (the owner) mechanical services for approximately 10 years. I’m a penny pincher so I have wandered off and used other shops and mechanics to end up eventually regretting it. Wally strikes that perfect balance between quality work and reasonable pricing. I’m no idiot when it comes to cars so I know the difference between quality work and crap work. Wally and his team at the shop are amazing. The work and the parts you get are superior quality. Recently I brought my RV in, I had another mechanic do some AC work on it and he totally screwed it up and refused to fix his mistake without charging me. Wally never does that, he stands behind his work, if there is a problem he will resolve it. I’m a pain in the ass type of customer, if Wally can make it work with me then he must be a genius.

Wally is absolutely great!
An acquaintance of mine said he brought his wife’s car in for new brakes. He had $ 1,000 ready to spend on them. Wally checked them out and said «you don’t need new brakes, keep your money.»
I’ve taken my car in twice for starting/​battery problems and he has both times sent me away with a solution and no charge.
An honest mechanic is good to know and we have one here. Take advantage of it.

These guys are real professionals, I have used there services many times, from Uhaul rental to automotive services, each time to get a better service than the last. Honest, good service is there way of doing business. I definitely recommend them. Keep up the good work Jimmy & Wilile.

I had my smog check done here today. Very friendly customer service and it took them less than 20 minutes. I paid 62 $ which may not be the cheapest you can find but I rather pay a fair price than having to worry about getting ripped off.

Wally smog-​certed my ’97 Malibu, and gave me good advice about smog cert and registering in the future. When I asked how much it would be, he was no-​nonsense and gave me the price, «out the door.» The price was right in the ballpark of what I expected to pay. The location is great for grabbing a sandwich or shopping within walking distance.

Thomas & Bros Auto Center is the best place to rent U-​Haul equipment in San Diego. Jimmy and Wally are extremely helpful and friendly. The customer service could not have been better! I will go out of my way to rent U-​Haul equipment from this location in the future and highly recommend it!!!

I hate hate hate getting work done on my car. But I was getting ready to sell my car and wanted to make sure is was all up to date for service. A painless and happily uneventful experience. Wally did the work for less than other places were charging (I domparisoned shopped Brake depot, pep boys and evans) and let me know which things were in fine working order and did not need service. Usually I am told by car repair shops that I need to get alot of repairs or else my car will blow up tomorrow!

First off i never review places on Unilocal,but Thomas & Bros gets my 100% seal of approval.
I went to them because i needed a STAR smog done on my 2003 Nissan 350z.
The week prior my car was failed at a local Firestone due to not having 4cats. I then had to go to Nissan to find out how many cats were actually required.
Wally took the liberty to make just 1 phone call to the local Nissan dealer to find out that my car only needed 2, and saved me a whole lot of headache. I wish i had gone to them in the first place.

This review is based on my experience with renting a Uhual. I always associate going to auto centers with grumpy workers from my pass experiences, so I wasn’t sure how they would react if I needed to rent a Uhual last minute without a reservation on it. Luckily, there was one available and the worker was kind enough to help us out with the tools we needed for a successful moving process! He was even kind enough to have us return the Uhual the next morning without an extra charge. I would definitely recommend this place to any of my friends or family who happen to be moving! I would totally rent from them again next time I ever needed a Uhual. Excellent customer serivce!

For a number of years I suffered in having to take my car back again to the numerous auto repair shops along Morena Blvd. My frustration with their incompetence and rudeness was beyond my comprehension. After hearing about my frustration, a friend of mine recommended Thomas Bro’s Auto Center. Right of the bat, I told the owner Wally, that a friend recommended the auto shop and that they would take care of not only my vehicle, but my pocketbook. That’s exactly what happened. After they methodically diagnosed and fixed the problem, I knew that they would be my Go-​Too-​Guys.
I have now cultivated a good working relationship with both Alex, the main mechanic and Wally and find them to be responsive, trustworthy and reliable. I’m very happy with their repair service and highly recommend this place. I like the fact that they always call you for authorization on any work they perform. No surprises here! Now, I even use them for simple oil changes and regular maintenance. Never an issue.

I go here all the time, and I have never had any issues.
