I specialize in color. Whether you have brown hair and want red or you have blonde hair and want brown… I can do that. I also do the «ombré»… Any color you want is possible!

I have 20 + years of experience and continue to update my education by going to advanced color classes and seminars.

One of my other favorite services I offer is The Keratin Complex Smoothing Therapy treatment. This treatment was created for frizzy, curly texture and is effective on all types of hair. Your hair will be more manageable and easy to style and will be resistant to humidity. It will feel noticeably softer and silkier, with added life, shine and vibrance.

History

Established in 1993.

I opened a small salon in 1993, with just two chairs. In 1999 I grew my business to a full service salon which I ran for the next 10 years. Now I operate a small business in Mission Hills. I am originally from Boston, and have more than 20 years experience. I am devoted to creating the most current look to suit your lifestyle. My education includes advanced training at Videl Sassoon, Redken and Tony & Guy.

So I got off work all grimy and grungy, got to my appointment at Wendy’s, and as always, she
greeted me better than family.
Wendy has such a great Vibe about her, that I immediately felt at home.
Adult beverage in hand, we proceeded with the very intimate experience
of having my hair cut.

I just got ANOTHER great haircut from Wendy, so I think it’s time to Unilocal about it! She has cut my hair for about a year, helping me achieve «David Beckham faux hawk», «italian GQ», and most importantly «please salvage what I did to my hair». I always have a specific thing I want done with my hair when I go to get it cut, and to be absolutely clear I will also explain what I DON’T want done. I always feel like Wendy actually hears and understands what I’m talking about, unlike some previous experiences where, after nodding at everything I’ve said, the stylist has gone and hacked my hair into the exact hum-​drum look I was trying to avoid. Wendy has also been able to give great suggestions based on how we can work best with my own special cow-​licks and swirls.
The barber shop on the corner gives their customers a beer, but I will continue driving across town to Wendy.

Wendy is a great hair stylist because she listens to what you want. She does my color and cut just right! It’s so great having a hair stylist that has so much experience. I’ve heard so many great things about her from her other clients too (my friends.) Everyone is super satisfied and you can see from her other 13 reviews that she has many, many long term clients. I’ve been going to Wendy Ricker for nearly 10 years, and I completely trust her with my hair. She’s the first stylist that I’ve been to who knew how to cut and style my thick wavy hair, and she got me to stop straightening my hair (something that I used to waste nearly an hour on every other morning). She’s great about recommending flattering styles/​lengths, too, for the shape of your face. She’s also great with color – I constantly get compliments on my hair color, and it’s been a variety of colors/​shades over the years. I highly recommend her!
