Love this place. After trying several tailors over the years, I can finally stop looking around. I take just about everything here now. I have shirts taken in at the sides, jackets taken in and collar raised. My wife also took a bridesmaid dress in to get tweaked, and she was very happy with the results.
A great eye, good advice, excellent craftsmanship and fair prices. I recommend them to everyone looking for a tailor.

Andreas and his father made me a custom suit for my wedding. I was hesitant to spend the money (a little over $ 1200 for a 3 piece suit), but it was worth every penny. Andreas was top notch with his customer service and attention to detail. I don’t know a lot about suit styles, but he clearly explained the entire process and showed me the the different options. If I got confused, he would just tell me what many people would do, and what he would suggest for myself. A few times my schedule got real busy and I wasn’t able to come in to get a fitting, and Andreas offered to drive to my home whenever I was available. It never came to that, but I just appreciated him offering to do whatever he could to get things done. I can 100% recommend these guys.

Great experience with this shop. Rates are reasonable and getting in and out of the shop for measurements & fittings couldn’t be any easier.

My go-​to for all alterations! Been coming here for a decade and have had excellent results! Most of my clothes are altered, from evening wear, dresses, jackets blouses, to repair and hems on my blue jeans. Would not hesitate to recommend! Very nice and courteous!

I’ve gone to Andreas for the last two years, and I probably should have written a review earlier. I’ve always gone to them for pant hems — jeans and slacks — and they’ve always done an exceptional job. $ 15/​pant cash isn’t bad either. They might not be the fastest service, and sometimes it can be hot inside the office, but they are very nice people and do a great job every time. I just picked up another pair of jeans today, and I’ll be back again…

When I first moved to SF I was looking for a tailor to get some shirts darted. I was kind of considering finding a place in chinatown, both for the convenience near work and the prices. But after reading some reviews I wasn’t all that convinced (most people seem to interact w/​them in chinese) so I decided to go with Andreas. I get everything I want from a tailor out of this place — quality craftsmanship, really good customer service, and someone who really knows what they’re doing and cares about their customers.
In addition to getting around 6 of my shirts darted here, I’ve also gotten a couple jeans tapered in the leg. Everything has been great so far, and I’m looking forward to getting some shirts custom made from scratch (they have some pretty sweet fabric samples here). Also, one of my friends came to have his jeans tapered too — his jeans were a bit looser to begin with, so the overall job was a lot harder. They had to take in the waist from the sides, as well as modify the seat, taper the legs twice, and hem the bottoms. But since all of these changes were coming from the initial taper job, they weren’t going to charge for any of the additional modifications they had to make! This just goes to show that they have quality and class that you can’t find elsewhere. I’m definitely bringing the majority of my tailoring needs to this business.

Listen, if yall looking to save a dolla this ain’t tha spot. These guys aren’t the cheapest in town, but DAMNNN they good and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my threads. Never have to go back for do-​overs, they get it right and tight the first time around. Real talk.

Can’t say enough about him. I wanted a suit made and he found me the exact material, design and look that I wanted. The fit was amazing. I highly recommend him.

I’ll keep this short and to the point:
Took 2 suits to get sleeves and pant legs altered.
Both sleeves and pant legs were too short on both suits (took them back — Round 1)
Got them back; this time, one set of sleeves and pant legs still short (took back Rd 2)
Got them back. 1 mo later, I noticed pant legs were wrinkling due to poor stitching.
Being tired of going back, this time, I asked for my money back for the pant legs.
No apologies of any kind nor any sign of remorse whatsoever.
I took it to another tailor who examined the pant legs. She informed me that there were vertical slits on both pant legs — causing the wrinkling effect — something that should never have been done. She was puzzled why those slits were there.
I’ll alter my own clothes before I go back to this place.

Andreas is the best! He has done an impeccable job tailoring shirts and suits!

Andy has made two suits for me, altered nearly all my shirts, pants, and coats, and done some beautiful work on my wife’s dresses, from work wear to very dressy. I wouldn’t trust my clothes to anyone else.
He and Andreas, his son, are pleasant guys, and take the time to figure out what you are looking for, pointing out potential problem areas if they exist so that there won’t be any surprises — I’ve found that Andy’s skills tend to make the results even better than you think they’ll be.
I don’t understand the (few) negative posts herein; again, my wife trusts Andy with her most expensive clothes and has never been disappointed.
He recently did some tailoring for a close friend of mine, a very pricey jacket he was to wear at his wedding — and it looked fabulous.

Contrary to the description of this place, this is a menswear place. I just went up to ask if I could get my bathing suit top taken in and I wasn’t even given an answer. I had to ask the leading question after being stared at by the tailor and his customer: «Is this more of a men’s only tailoring place?» and he replied that is was. Please don’t falsely advertise.

I brought my Indochino suit in to take in the pants and jacket after a 20lb weight loss, and needed it in time for a wedding in Hawaii. The guys here took great care of me and, despite a little hiccup with the pickup date, got me suit back fast! The quality of work is top notch and the owner’s son even dropped off my suit at my apartment. You’ll get service with a smile with Andreas Gorges, so don’t even bother going anywhere else!

Came in to get a dress altered as a wedding guest. I previously had the length altered already at another and was told before that I couldn’t not have the slit raised. Determined with my vision for the dress I came to this place and was not disappointed, the dress could not have been more altered perfectly! I could have taken a star off for the dress not being completed the day it was scheduled, but I love the way it looks so much that it doesn’t even matter. =]

Came here to start off my experience by getting almost all of my pants tapered, hemmed, and the waist brought in.
Got them all back in a timely manner, price was great for the quality, and if a pair still felt too tight or too loose, I had them promptly adjusted the same week by Andreas, no problem.
The most important thing to me however, is that your tailor should be your best friend. I had the chance to meet and chat with Andreas and Andreas Jr. and they are both extremely friendly and kind guys who I look forward to working with!
On one occasion, Andreas even stayed a little later for me to try on a couple pairs of pants to ensure their fit. He could’ve closed on time and left, but he stayed and allowed me to take my time trying the pants on before taking them. Hats off to you good sir!
Andreas Tailoring is a place I will (and have) recommend to everyone I meet. Every man should have his clothes tailored and this is the place to do it at!

Just thought I would add another part to my earlier review given that the situation actually got worse!
After putting on my freshly re-​altered suit jacket and pants, I noticed that the pants are still too short for the third time (big shocker) and that the jacket had a rather large hole in the forearm from the horrendous sewing job that was attempted.
So glad that I paid my hard earned money to waste my time and ended up finishing off the job off myself!!!

Alright so having moved to a new city last year, of course I was worried about new food spots, good bars to go to, and where I would get my suits altered. I know I know it sounds ridiculous but it really was an important aspect for me since I buy suits pretty regularly. I had just bought a Zegna suit and a Boss suit and needed altering stat as I wanted to «SUIT UP!» Gotta throw in the HIMYM reference
So I Unilocal and find this place near the FIDI within walking distance of my office. So I go over there one day and check it out. It’s in a building on the fifth floor. I walk into the joint and it just has clothes everywhere which makes sense although made me wonder about the organization. Anyhow do not let the anal retentive side of me flaw this review. I was immediately told to try out the suit and stand in front of the mirror. I was promptly helped and marked up and it was nice because they asked what exactly they thought I wanted altered also and then explained would should be to help me understand what to look for. They did a great job fitting the suits and I have already brought 3 suits there and I just went to them about two months ago. They are quick with their turn around and their prices are definitely reasonable. Definitely recommend this joint for your suit tailoring needs.

Amazing tailor! Felt like i stepped into some elegant british tailoring spot straight out of the early 1900’s.
Took in a bridesmaid dress, added straps, took out the pockets, shortened it, and took it in wherever i could. No doubt stressed to see the results but looked amazing and fit so much better than before.
So reasonably priced and such nice man to work with. You can tell hes been doing this for years. Approved

Wow, I’ve been to this spot a couple of times now and the experience has been great — very professional with a fantastic product in the end. I recently was here to alter a pair of pants as well as a blazer and when they were returned to me, they fit perfectly! It was like wearing custom-​made pieces.
The pricing is a bit on the high side, but considering the quality and the results, you definitely get what you pay for.
They do take credit cards, which is very handy!
