History

Established in 2011.

Prior to starting b. street waffles, I embarked on a six-week waffle tour of Belgium. Traveling by train I sought out waffles in cities, towns and villages throughout the country. Upon arriving at each destination I would literally follow my nose to the aroma of the waffles and meet the bakers. The name b. street waffles came about from my travels, inspired by the B symbol on the Belgian train lines and the fact that the waffles were being purchased and eaten on the streets. b. street waffles was born!

Today, b. street waffles bakes waffles using an original Belgian recipe and locally milled organic flour, importing both the pearl sugar and the waffle irons with their unique grids to give these treats their historic authenticity. The difference today is that b. street creates a new variety of artisanal waffles by baking an individual choice of topping right into the waffle dough just before baking them. With a passion for culture, food, and culinary hospitality I launched b. street waffle

On my first visit to Belgium, I was fascinated by the sight of Belgians strolling in the streets of their capital, Brussels, while eating fresh-baked hand-held waffles. I immediately stopped at the first waffle stand I saw to buy one. Finding the waffles both delicious and aromatic, I said to myself, «One day I would like to bring these delightful brioche-style waffles with special pearl sugar back to my hometown, San Francisco!»

Holding positions in hospitality and retail both in Europe and the US before launching b. street waffles in March 2011
