Big Rec Taproom

Cute bar that just opened in my neighborhood. They don’t have much business yet but worth stopping in for a quick drink!

We went to this place on its re-​opening day recently and loved the selection of beer, the friendly bartender and the delicious ramen. You never know when a ramen craving will happen and Big Rec had the great idea of combining comfort noodles with great taps. We loved the happy hour special they were doing (half a bowl of ramen and a beer for $ 10) and were pretty satisfied when we left.
However, lately they have not been open every time I go by. We went out of our way to go there on a Saturday night around 9pm and they were closed and I just went there this past Monday around happy hour and they were still closed. It left me wondering if they are open, or going through some issues… or what? They should post a note on their door with their hours, or about what is going on?

This place just took over La Movida’s space. Great tap selection: I had the Bear Republic Cuvee de Bubba (sour!), which was excellent, and the Baeltane Farmer’s Flock Saison, also good. And I had the chorizo corn dogs, a holdover from the La Movida days – goes great with beer. Good stuff.
