Cuban & Puerto Rican Cuisine
History
Established in 1974.
Located on (lower) 24th street, a small family owned restaurant, which is celebrating 41 years serving delicious home-style Cuban and Puerto Rican comfort food.
Today the amazing husband & wife team of Rafael and Tyrisha Frias, who are both locals of San Francisco, continue the Frutilandia mission, maintaining the restaurant as a cultural and community mainstay in San Francisco’s Mission District.
From the crispy golden tostones covered in a citrus lemon garlic (mojo) sauce to the traditional Puerto Rican Mofongo made of mashed green plantains, garlic, or Cuban (Lechon) sandwich both filled with our famous Lechon Horenado (slow roasted pork). Frutilandia keeps an authentic cuisine strongly rooted in the Carribean isles of Cuba and Puerto Rico.
