History

Established in 19.

In 1989 I decided to expand my cleaning business and include carpet cleaning. I had heard many horror stories about cleaning companies. And I thought that doing business differently would provide a much needed service, and a good business opportunity.

This presented a challenge. I did not have any experience in carpet cleaning yet aspired to offer my clients the best service and cleaning results. So I went to school. I took every class available and passed all certification tests. This challenge proved to be a blessing in disguise. Many cleaners learn their trade on the job site, under time constraints and not necessarily from accomplished technicians. While acquiring the «Master Carpet & Textile Cleaner» certification by the IICRC, I was taught by the nation’s leading experts. I learned from the best.

Five stars and Ofer never even cleaned my rugs. Ofer seemed very professional. He explained the types of rugs I have and how cleaning might affect them. He explained the different types of stains and the likelihood that cleaning would remove them. After a pessimistic 15 minute consultation from him, where he basically said, «I’ll clean your rugs for you if you want, but I don’t think you should do that.» I declined to have him clean.
This was exactly the type of service I was hoping for.

I feel like I’m piling on here, but fact is everything you read about Ofer is true. He spent a good 10 minutes with me on the phone answering questions and explaining his processes. On the day of the cleaning, he showed up on time (early actually), surveyed our two rooms for cleaning, took measurements and provide his quote (which was exactly as he described it on the phone). He then went into detail about how he recommended performing the cleaning, the products he would use, how he would set up and how long it would take. He also took me though a few unique spots on our carpets and was honest in explaining his expected outcomes. He even took time to talk to my pregnant wife about the citrus smell of the cleaning agent to make sure she would not become nauseous. In the end, the carpets turned out great and we were very happy with the service. Ofer feels more like a friend that is helping you clean your carpets than a random service person you’ve never met who’s just going through the motions. With a kid on the way, I’m sure we will be seeing him again soon!

Ofer was very thorough, gave a fair estimate on the phone and re-​evaluated the pricing after measuring our space before starting. He explained the process in detail, and gave me great tips for keeping the carpet in decent shape after the cleaning (renting in SF, we’re likely stuck with the old carpet for a really long time).
We’ve had carpet cleanings by Coit before, but I don’t think our hallway has looked this good in years. Will definitely stick with them for future cleanings.

The owner of Expert Clean & Green, Ofer is a master at his work. He was honest about what he thought we could accomplish — we have dogs and a light colored couch — without damaging the fibers. And even so, the couch looks beautiful again. I am really happy with the result of his work. I will definitely call him again for future cleanings.

In the past I used a «Diamond Certified» Carpet cleaning company which from previous experience doesn’t deserve a Diamond.
I called Expert Clean & Green. The owner, Ofer Kolton, came to my house and very clearly explained the way that he cleans carpets.
Long story short, the best phone call I have made, ever.

This is for the customer service of Ofer.
I am a personal assistant/​housekeeper and was searching for a client who’s new puppy soiled their Jute rug. I called 9 different carpet cleaners and was told this could not be done by 8, one offered to come the same day but didn’t know what Jute is. Ofer knew every cleaner I called and suggested Simonian Oriental Rug Cleaners. Though he could not clean the rug for me, he took the time to explain why and then recommended a place that could take care of my needs.
Now that’s customer service that you don’t see much in this day & age. Hats off to you Ofer and THANK YOU.

We have a 60lb dog who likes to track mud through the house and sleeps on one of the chairs in the living room. We thought we would have to replace the carpets and upholster the chair but Ofer worked a miracle and both look great. Not only did he do a great job cleaning he left plastic footwear so we could walk around while the carpets dried, a spray bottle of cleaner so we spot clean the carpet and some great advice on the best products to use. Ofer was really helpful, turned up on time and worked really hard to get everything clean. I can’t recommend him enough, worth every dollar and it wasn’t even that much.

Ofer’s come to clean our carpet three times now and each time has been amazing. We have a cream colored carpet and 2 young boys – enough said. He is a miracle worker! I can’t recommend Ofer enough. Don’t bother going with anyone else. He will do an incredible job, and you won’t regret it.

Why am I giving a man 5 stars who DIDN’T CLEAN our carpet? Because he spent 20 minutes explaining patiently (with diagrams) that our way too expensive «investment» carpet is woven wool, and the only way to clean it is to take it to his workshop and do it properly. We don’t have the $ for that now, but will save up for it, and call Ofer when it is time.

Ofer is amazing. We moved into a new house, and when we unrolled our rugs from New York I was shocked at how filthy they were. I called Ofer after seeing his great Unilocal reviews. He scheduled a time to come see them, and advised the best way to clean them. He also did an amazing job getting stains out of berber bedroom carpet! I’ll never have my rugs cleaned by anyone else.

We called Expert Clean & Green to inquire about having our carpets cleaned, and it was clear right away that Ofer is a carpet-​cleaning genius/​scientist/​guru. He knows carpets, inside and out — and he takes the time to explain everything in detail so that you understand what to expect and why.
He did an amazing job with our carpets, was very thorough, and even provided us with booties to wear in case we needed to walk on our carpets before they were fully dry. He also sent a follow-​up letter with carpet-​maintenance tips.

I am so impressed with the level of service from Expert Clean and Green that I have to write a review. I have many custom, hard-​to-​clean items. It was a joy to find someone who was knowledgable about the fabrics and and even bigger joy to have such a trustworthy and precise cleaner in my home!
Ofer is very professional. He will respond to all inquiries in a timely manner and when he comes to your home he will walk you through everything in advance. If he does not believe he can clean the stain, he will tell you up front and will not clean the item. Amazing customer service. He should be the role model for all businesses.

Ofer came on time and did a fantastic job on my grey upholstery sofa. In fact, I noticed a few days after that more dirt came through on one of the cushions after he cleaned it. He was happy to come back and cleaned the main cushion again. Overall great customer service, prompt, and knowledgeable.

I have a two year old and a cream colored micro-​suede sofa — need I say more?
Yes, it was GROSS.
My couch looks a zillion times better.
He was super nice and explained a lot about what he was going to do. I spaced out on that a bit… I don’t care much about fiber, just make it pretty and clean. Which he did. Reasonable from other quotes I got, $ 398 for a 11ft sofa/​chaise. And my house doesn’t smell like a chemical plant or meth lab.

It’s taken a couple of months for me to Unilocal this.
I had just moved into my new apt, and was concerned that the carpets were not professionally cleaned; i have asthma and dust mites are definitely a concern for me.
So i figured I’d dish out some money just to feel better about the cleanliness of the apt. I Unilocaled for carpet cleaners and Expert Clean & Green came out tops.
I called them for an appt and managed to make one for a few days later.
They arrived on time– earlier than me (i had to rush home from work, it was raining and i couldn’t find a cab) but fortunately, my apt manager let them in.
As they were setting up, Ofer walked me through what they were going to do, and even explained carpet dust patterns to me. It went totally above me, but whatever, he was so earnest and sweet.
They were done within an hour, they were efficient, polite to my apt manager, set up equipment w/​o complaint in the POURING rain (srsly, worst rainy day of the entire season) and charged me what they’d quoted on the phone
I’d recommend and use their services again
