Wow. I got my haircut by Peige today and he did a balls out amazing job on my hair. I’m so happy with this cut. And he’s a hottie to boot!!! Love him. Go to him you won’t be disappointed!

I can’t express enough how amazing this man is at doing hair! I’m so happy after every visit. My blonde highlights are to die for!

Peige Stevens is the ONLY person that has been to successfully cut my hair (it’s one cowlick after another). He navigates my cut with precision, I refuse to use product in my hair which again adds to Coiffure Challenge.
The other thing he does (and I don’t know how he does it) but it’s not just a good cut the day of, it’s cut to grow out without looking like it needs to be cut. The style stays until I get back to him.
And his prices are so reasonable, he should be charging at least twice!

Peige was great! My hair was super bleached and he was able to dye it back to my original color. It looks spectacular! The cut is incredible too! My hair looks even better than I could have imagined it to look. He was also super fun to talk to! I highly recommend Peige.

Peige is the best. Always get an amazing haircut and have a really fun time. I’ve been coming to him for years now, and he’s seen me through my bad home-​dye jobs without judgment, just cleans me up and sends me on my way. What more could a girl ask for?

Peige is amazing. Not only is he an excellent hair cutting master in my honest opinion, he’s witty and hilarious to converse with during the whole process. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and was amazed at how well he understood my stammering kind-of-sort-of-don’t-know-if-you-know-what-I’m-talking-about instructions and translated it into exactly what I wanted. He’s incredibly sweet and talented and is absolutely fantastic at what he does and I’m surprised he doesn’t charge more. I was really really happy with the way my hair came out. It was seriously the first time someone has cut my hair and I’ve been 100% happy with it, although he did offer to touch it up over the next few days if I wanted but I don’t think it will be necessary because I love it. I will definitely be back!

Do I recommend Peige? Without a doubt. He’s creative, he’s knowledgeable, and is very attentive to the customer’s needs. Meaning me! I went to Peige from a recommendation of a friend, and the problem I have is I’m still looking for that perfect hi-​lite and hair cut that suits me. He was able to really include me in the convo about color for my hair (we chose 3 colors which I’d never done before) and stepped up with the cut and style too (knowing I didn’t really know what I wanted except to state what I didn’t want.) I have a thick head of hair and am used to the process taking a while. I’m used to seeing some very apparent spikes of blond hi-​lites in my hair and after completely finishing up, I noticed it wasnt quite like that. Peige quickly stated if you feel you want any any additional spikes don’t hesitate to contact me and I can do that no problem in the following days. I said ok, thinking I’d probably take him up on that. But I awoke the next morning took a shower and styled my hair and was actually awed but what I saw. With three colors that he incorporated the result was more subtle than spikes, but much more layered with depth and the color that was interwoven and was (and is) super awesome! But then Peige checked in with me a couple days later wanting to know if I wanted to add a few more ‘poppin’ blonde hi lites and I decided ok, let’s do it. Well… Great job Peige! The cut and hi lite already looked great and now the few extra blond spikes are exactly the piece d’resistance! Thanks Peige for checking up on me, for going the extra mile to ensure I was 100% happy and satisfied and I can’t recommend you enough. And I will be back! Cheers! Nic

Peige is fantastic. He knows your hair as soon as he runs his fingers through it and can then cut it to perfection. Color is his talent, as well, as he finds a way to complement your true colors, while highlighting what you want to show off. Finally, he takes the time to care for your hair until the last minute to make sure you leave the salon looking and feeling fabulous. Call him today. It’s worth it!

I highly recommend Peige! I went to him for the first time — I’m always nervous when going to someone for the first time. He made me feel so comfortable, make great suggestions and took the time to answer all of my questions. I am happy to say I took him up on his suggestions and have a wonderful new cut — that I have gotten so many compliments on!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I am always hesitant about trying out a new stylist; I don’t have the luxury of covering my hair if I hate a cut or if I have a bad day. When I met Peige, however, my anxieties were calmed by his knowledge of various hair types, his professionalism and his obvious passion to have me leave the salon looking my best. After a few haircutting appointments, I felt confident to venture into color. Why didn’t I do it sooner?! With naturally black hair, I knew I could never be a blond, but Peige understood my desire for sun-​kissed color and shine. He told me my desired effect (a la Eva Mendes) might take a few visits, as my hair is thick and runs halfway down my back. But rather than looking like a half painted house, I left the salon with style and shine after each appointment as he built layers of color. The transition was subtle and natural looking, and I’ve received compliments on the healthy appearance of my hair since day one. Peige has always been flexible with my schedule, even accommodating last-​minute blowouts. I took my boyfriend in for a trim, and not surprisingly, was in and out quickly with rave reviews for his gentle hand and his ability to listen and deliver. You have to go see him!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PEIGE. The day before had met Peige, I went to get my normal partial blond highlights from a different place in San Francisco and I was really disappointed by the lack of «summer bright blond» look that I was hoping to get. Luckily, I ran into my girl friend at the gym with gorgeous blond hair and she referred me to Paige in the Castro. He was able to see with on such short notice and completely redid my highlights. His partial highlights were much more thorough and he used a lot more foils (probably twice the amount). He seriously did not charge me enough money for all the great work he did. Needless to say, I walked out of there after a quick hour with the true bright BLOND highlights I that wanted!
On top of it all, it was so fun chatting with him — such a sweetheart.

There ain’t no shame in my game, I was a toe head growing up but am now rocking a dirty sink. Mousy looking hair looks dirty and greasy no matter how clean it is and I have never overheard a man (or woman) talking about how sexy it is.
I spent years with the same hairdresser out of loyalty. But inside I knew I wasn’t getting what I was searching for. I wanted Heidi. Carrie from season three. I wanted the hair I have now thanks to Peige.
I’ve been coming to this simple salon in the Castro by where Harvey Milk’s old camera shop was for four years now. I haven’t a clue why I haven’t Unilocaled him yet. Maybe it’s because I want him all to myself. But after looking at some bad hair on Muni for too long I am spreading the word.

I was referred to Peige through a friend who has the same color and curls as me, and boy am I glad! Peige does amazing work– my highlights and cut always looks fabulous when I leave, and the blowout lasts forever! Peige is very detail oriented with his art, he flexible when it comes to scheduling appointments and is a blast to chat with when you are in the chair. Bravo Peige!!!

I completely agree with the other Unilocalers. I have been coming to Peige since I moved to SF over a year ago and have never received so many compliments on my hair! He is truly is among the best kept secrets and stylists in San Francisco.
I’ve finally found someone who I can trust to consistently give me an gorgeous hair cut every time! Peige’s over ten years of experience allows him to understand how to cut hair so that it just «falls right» and retains the style as it grows out. He always takes the time to have me stand up so he can make adjustments, and mixes multiple tones of highlights to give me natural looking, sun-​kissed blonde locks.
To top it all off, he’s a ton of fun to be around AND his prices are surprisingly reasonable. Really great location in the Castro as well!

Peige! oh, wonderful Peige! He has been cutting, highlighting, styling my hair for the better part of 4 years. My hair has never had more compliments. As a blond, it’s difficult to find someone who will take the time with complicated foils and who is willing to find the right ratio/​blend of highlights and low lights in effort to make your hair look semi-​natural. And not completely melt off my hair.
Peige is genuine, easy to talk to, and has a fantastic sense of humor! My hair takes about 3 hours. And I look forward to it every time. I have never walked out of the salon with an ugly cut or color. Peige is truly a creative mind and hand, it always shows through his work!
One spring day, about 2 years ago, I decided I wanted my bangs really short. I had a decent argument for this cut. Peige suggested that I do NOT cut my bangs that short, but I made him proceeded with my plan. We cut the bangs, not that they looked horrible… they grew out nicely due to a wonderful cut… but he now says, «Remember that time you HAD to have really short bangs?» and we laugh… So, unless you are super persuasive, Peige won’t steer you wrong!

I’ve been getting my hair cut with Peige for years and not only do I get a great cut, but I have a great time. I like the personal attention I get, as it’s a low-​key, friendly salon and you won’t be shuttled from one person to the next.
Peige has years of experience and he couldn’t be a nicer, more genuine guy. His clients range from Marin ladies to Castro boys, and everyone is welcome. Peige always does a stellar job — he spends a lot of time getting it just the way I like it, and my cut looks great for months afterwards.
One other thing that’s great about Peige is that not only are his prices reasonable, but his hours are flexible — Sundays, evenings, etc., making it extremely convenient to get an appointment. Since I’m someone who tends to wait for months until the hair situation is truly dire, then can’t get in fast enough, this works ideally for me.
He’s located within Michael Roberts Haircutters, on 19^th, just off Castro, almost above Spike’s. There’s a great view of the 19^th & Castro intersection from Peige’s chair so when your cut takes a full hour, as mine does, there’s great people-​watching to help pass the time.
