History

Established in 1997.

Dr. Kafayi has taken numerous continuing education courses in dentistry, including completion of the two-​year program of the world renowned Foundation for Advance Continuing Education (F.A.C.E.). At F.A.C.E., the concentration is diagnosing and treating TMJ and occlusion (bite) issues.

Dr. Kafayi is currently taking courses in Implant and writing an article for the CDA Journal.

He is a member of societies and dental/​specialty associations. Some of his memberships include:

Dr. Kafayi completed his undergraduate studies in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of California at Berkeley. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 1994 and is currently a part time faculty at the University of the Pacific.

Dr. Kafayi has taken numerous continuing education courses in dentistry, including completion of the two-​year program of the world renowned Foundation for Advance Continuing Education (F.A.C.E.). At F.A.C.E., the concentration is diagnosing and treating TMJ and occlusion (bite) issues.

He is a member of societies and dental/​specialty associations. Some of his memberships include: American Dental Association, California Dental Association and San Francisco Dental Society.

As a dedicated father of two, Dr. Kafayi has many interests outside of dentistry. He enjoys skiing, water skiing, swimming and soccer.

This practice is all class. Irene (at the front desk) is amazing and helped me schedule 4 referral appointments during her lunch break. While Dr. Kafayi gave me a free consultation and went through all of my options to solve my restorative dentist issues.
Note all this was done without ever having to pay a dime! Think I’ll be heading back? Hell yeah! And this time with my wallet open ;)

Dr Kafayi and his team are really terrific — they’ve been working on our family’s teeth for the last few years (6?) and we’re very pleased with them.
That gives you 4 stars. What gives them 5 stars is that the whole team from Irene the patient and very responsive receptionist to the well documented gem of a hygienist… Daisy (She deserves a page devoted to her).
Why we’re committed to them? My mother in law arrived from Europe… had a problem, we sent her right to Dr Kafayi… he fixed her up and when it came time to pay he recognized insurance was going to be a hassle for both of them… comped it.
#boom. Great customer service for your committed clients = forever customers.

I had gone to Sassan Kafayi, DDS for cleaning. Before the cleaning started he talked to me and asked me if there is anything bothering me. I said I was okay and he made sure he got my xrays from March from his brother who was my old Dentist (His brother is not covered under my insurance so I switched to Sassan Kafayi).
My hygienist Daisy was the nicest hygienist ever. Due to smoking, I had tar in my teeth and she got them all out! She paid attention to details and was very nice to me. The receptionist was also nice. I had the best cleaning experience here.

The best. Dr. Kafayi and his team took excellent care of me at their gorgeous SF location, and their new Willow Glen office. He is genuine, friendly and a genius. He made me feel very comfortable from the beginning and the whole experience was high quality. Whether you’re looking for a tooth cleaning or a Hollywood smile — I totally recommend Dr. Kafayi.

poor customer service from beginning to end. first time went in there for a cleaning that was long overdue and all the doctor did was picking in between teeth here and there and what’s WORSE, his operations were SO harsh that my gums hurt for days. recently called in hoping to schedule another cleaning appointment not with the doctor and was told need to pay out-​of-​pocket $$$ to see the hygienist. on the contrary, i’ve heard good feedbacks about daisy the hygienist, so i decided to go ahead and schedule one. then phoned my dental insurance to find out the reason why I needed to pay for seeing the hygienist was that only the doctor himself is contracted, therefore insurance will not cover the hygienist. all this hassle to just want to have a nice and thorough cleaning, so now i have to transfer to a new office. plus, everytime i was on phone talking to the receptionist, felt like she was on a mood swing or something, one second she was all nice and helpful, then next she could be a witch lecturing you this and that blah blah blah. dr. kafayi totally skewed my opinions toward male dentists that i will NEVER want to see one now.

Daisy is the best hygienist I’ve ever experienced. Cleanings are more like a nice gentle gum massage than a cleaning. Irene, the office manager, is very nice as well.

Dr. Kafayi talks to me in a direct manner, making certain I understand what’s going on, what he wants to do and why. He is compassionate, has a sense of humor and is committed to pain-​free dentistry. I especially want to mention Daisy, a superb hygienist who always make my teeth sparkle. The rest of his supporting cast contribute to an excellent experience.

this is the worst dentist i have ever been to. charlatan anyone? he told me i had 3 cavities and before i had them filled he «fixed» my husband’s tooth which then after 3 nights of pain and then antibiotics, was resurrected by another dentist, (see review) my new dentist never found my «3» cavities and now, 5 years later I am still wondering where they are… DO NOT lend your mouth to Kafayi and his shiny new office with a million dollar view.
